My overall impression was that they did not care at all - almost glad to get rid of me. I got a new contract, transferred my number and shut the account.

TPO was started by three friends sharing a common vision. To transform something that people use everyday, their mobile phones, into a force for good. They launched it in late 2012 in the UK and it's been growing ever since. In January 2014, Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, joined the company. Our goal is to raise billions for good causes worldwide, delivering goodness with every connection made. 10% of customers’ mobile bill is directed to their cause or charity of choice at no extra cost to them.

Awful, awful, awful, awful
I volunteer for a small youth charity. We registered with TPO so that our supporters could give an extra 10% of their bill to our charity. It seemed too good to be true... it was!
3 reasons why I would never recommend TPO:
1. They disconnected my mobile phone because I "breached their fair use policy" by sending 80 texts in one week (on a 5000 text/month plan)
2. Every single bill this year has been incorrect... I have been overcharged and my account is in credit, but can I get the money back? Not a chance.
3. TPO has no customer service phone number. All complaints have to be done by email, and they take FOREVER to reply. Seriously, I've waited months between emails.
Don't do it! Pay a bit more and go with a trusted company who you can actually call if things go wrong.
WORST COMPANY!!!!!OFCOM Please close this clowns......
Can I give Minus 5 star? What a shame, I used to be with 3 and decided to join TPO mobile, Number transferred and stop receiving incoming call, As it is cheap company there is no customer care so you go online and they say chat option..really??????? that's wrong as there is no one available to chat because they are saving money to pass it to customer, So I chose call back option and today it's 10th day no call back, yes they did sent me standard email but that is already available online.
I called up and waited for 30min to talk to some one, again this is tricky as you can only talk to human of you select to leave TPO!!!! lady on the other side constantly telling me why they are cheap cheap. and without surprise she told me that nothing wrong with their network I need to change my phone to receive incoming calls.. Guys Pay more to get at least some sort of customer care services. WORST MOBILE COMPANY I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS...........STAY AWAY or BE PREPARE for TROUBLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been with tpo for three years
I have been with tpo for three years. The website is clunky and it is difficult to get a clear idea of the charges, but I was not too bothered as I thought it was cheap. Then they asked for a £50 returnable deposit for roaming in Europe. Returnable sure, but you have to contact them to ask for it back. The real problems came when they started throttling my mobile internet connection. Connects for 10s then stops. It took me two phones and a new SIM card to work out what they were doing, as one is inclined to blame poor coverage at first and connect to nearby static wifi instead. It is difficult to contact them to sort it out so I changed to an alternate provider - cheaper and vastly better. So good I will need to up my data package!
Totally unacceptable service
Totally unacceptable service. Really liked the idea, something I would happily get behind and even put up with some quirks for. However, phone never really worked properly and they never sorted it out. Customer service is non existent, when you ask for a call back they don't do it, when you get email suppport the best I ever got was one email back per working day which dropped to completely none on a coupe of occassions. The only phone number I could find, buried in their site, was for a customer service line at 35p a minute with a 7p connection fee!!! If you are going to attempt be an ethical company maybe start with your customers... Am now going to attempt to leave and get my PAC code, wish me luck...
EDIT - Actually found a number that is normal rate 0333 313 7760 or 500 from handset, again not obvious on web site. They have now given me a PAC code and say account will be cancelled when I use it.
Appalling company, poor reception
Appalling service. Put onto wrong bundle, they won’t transfer funds to preferred bundle, nor refund my outstanding balance. Reception is diabolical. Taken a further payment even after cancellation. Avoid this shambles of a company.
I am happy with TPO
I am happy with TPO, costs are low and I have been on the same tariff without any increase in monthly charge for over a year. I have scored TPO 5 stars compared to other mobile phone companies as coverage is good and unlike some I have tried, customer service also good. Also you can donate 10% of your bill to charity which can't be a bad thing.
The worst experience of my life
The worst experience of my life. They treated me, a customer, like dirt and I had to get the ombudsman to sort them out.
Fortunately they seem to be nearing the end of their road (share price recently collapsed).
Please do not support this organisation.
Disconnected without notice
Disconnected without notice, I have always paid bills on time via DD. Was due a call back to sort out but no one called, they don’t even have a Custer service number, network reception isn’t all that great either
I was with TPO for a few years.
I was with TPO for a few years.
Asked to cancel and stopped DD. They suspended service but left account active. Wasn;t told this and the service provided was terrible in my opnionion. Would not use.
Any Internet??
Was easy to switch to, however the coverage map seems very inaccurate, I can hardly get coverage and always lose internet access even in areas their map says should be great. Tried sim in various phones and makes no difference, shame.
Think before using - No support for online banking
Verification sms/text messages are now part of many online systems e.g. eBay, Google and most banks. Unfortunately TPO don’t support business texts so you can’t use your mobile for account verification, OTPs, etc.
Contacted TPO and just told ‘we don’t support’, no reason, no work around, nothing. Now looking to switch away.
BIG MISTAKE!!.
Joined TPO to stay as good rates.
Worst customer service ever.
Was without service for 10 days and now cant get my pac code from the rubbish service so that i can leave.
Dont think about joining this mobile network provider.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Awful service! Avoid!
I provided a PAC code to TPO to transfer my number from my old network 15 days ago but still haven't had it transferred. But they have deregistered the number from my old network so my old SIM no longer works... but I am still on their temporary number, which also won't accept incoming calls or texts!
I have messaged them repeatedly and all they say is that they are working on it. I have also been told that I cannot transfer my number to another network until they have finished transferring it, so I am forced to now wait for them to do this, without a working phone! They are basically holding my number hostage!
I asked for them to provide me with another SIM that accepts incoming calls while I wait for them to transfer my number but they refused!
They appear to subcontract the transfer of numbers to a 3rd party so have no control over the process themselves. They do reply to my messages to customer service within 2 days, but with no expected date of restoring my service, and have not yet offered any specific compensation. I have no idea how long I will be without a phone for and have lost confidence in their ability to resolve this!
I would avoid this network!
Worst company ever
Worst company ever. Number should of been transferred on Friday, but all that's happened is both numbers have been deactivated. I have to wait four days until they can loon at the issue as they don't work weekends. Joke network, will be leaving once a get my original number back!
Excellent
Excellent – no reservations, I would recommend this company to anyone.
One of the first few
I've been with them since their inception. While there has been occasional hiccups along the road, I'm still a loyal member 4 years on. I like what the company stands for. Every call, every text, every piece of data goes towards helping others. 10% goes straight to your charity, what's not to love about that?
Glad to help others as well as help…
Glad to help others as well as help myself to a good deal
A good network with competitive rates and packages
TPO works on the 3 network. So far no problems with signal even in some remote areas. Costs are competitive and I have been on the same low tariff for over a year without any increase in monthly charge. Customer service is good. The online account system is a bit frustrating (you can check data use and call charges, and check which tariff you are on, but to make any changes you have to go through customer services). Overall I would score TPO as 5 star when compared to other mobile phone companies as coverage is good and customer service also good. Another plus is that you can donate 10% of your bill to charity.
Cheapest contract
TPO had the cheapest contract when I was looking for one for my son's first phone. It is more than enough at £3.99.
