Good show in 2022, but needs many improvements
I couldn’t give this feedback on the app for the 2022 show because there was no feedback in a free text field. I bought the 2-day pass for 25th-26th May.
[Positives for the 2022 Show]
1. The Google / YouTube sessions were fantastic as they provided many insights that led me to more leads and enquiries for my business.
2. Nice venue, easy to get to, decent number of food restaurants nearby
3. Nice mix of exhibitors including podcast hosts / software, audio hardware companies, podcasters themselves, and many others
4. Great data about the podcasting industry and how it is evolving for the masses
5. Plenty of space to network and meet others
[Needs improvement]
1. Terrible App – The app was very badly designed. When trying to find directions to the next session from the itinerary, the map and other information were siloed in different parts of the app, which was a real problem because the app doesn’t maintain the breadcrumbs so you can flip back and forth easily. You have to reload information every single time which made me miss the start of almost every session
2. Bad venue layout – the distance between one session and the next could be a 10 minute walk away. There wasn’t enough time to get to every session early, or even on time because they were not logically arranged in unison with the different itinerary tracks.
3. Overbooked sessions – many sessions didn’t have enough seating, especially the Google and YouTube ones. So I missed many of the sessions that I had shortlisted
4. No video replays for missed sessions – this made missing the sessions even more disappointing. I was truly upset when I found out that it would not be possible to watch sessions that were missed. I’m still angry at this.
Overall, this show was good, but it needs a lot of work to improve the ROI on my time again in 2023.
