Our mission is to serve the needs of those with dyslexia through testing, tutoring, teacher training, and promotion of the Science of Reading. The Reading Center is the only nonprofit organization in the region that offers a full array of services for dyslexic students and their families, including effective tutoring and training for teachers and parents. At The Reading Center, we use the research-based Orton-Gillingham approach. Since our founding in 1951, licensed teachers, paraprofessionals, home educators, parents, and even grandparents have taken our training courses, which equip trainees to provide effective instruction to struggling readers. Our motto is, "Literacy for all!"
