A method that unlocks the secret potty room in your mind and flushes the c*ap out of your life ...
I went through years of therapy, including DBT, CBT, EMDR and a couple other modalities and they helped some, but never got to the root of the problems, removed them and replaced them with strong, positive roots. Plenty of days seemed like one step forward then a few back. Let's not forget that life got worse before it got better, and things were already almost unbearable.
Decades of self-help and motivational seminars, books, recordings, etc. Positive sticky notes around the house, and positive self-talk while talking to myself in the mirror trying to be my own cheerleader and life coach saying “You Can Do It” only to trip and fall and think “Oh no I suck again”. It all has its place, as long as you don't spend too much money. But again, it never really removed the old limiting roots.
I even became a certified hypnotist (not a hypnotherapist) in order to learn how to record my own hypnosis recordings and play them over and over with earbuds/headphones. Not even this truly got the to root of the problems, even though I made some incredible recordings. But I kept moving forward, searching for something that would work.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) including faster EFT which I liked better because you focused on installing positive things after working on the negative. This seemed to help a little, but again, never actually got the real root of any of my problems.
One day I came across an article that reviewed a book titled “Change What Happened to You: How to Use Neuroscience to Get the Life You Want by Changing Your Negative Childhood Memories” by Odille and Steve Remmert. As I was reading the book I kept on feeling that they were hitting the nail on the head. So I watched some of their free videos on Youtube and got a free introductory course they had and started to learn the system and using it.
I then started to learn more about Memory Reconsolidation Therapy (MRT) (The Remmert Technique is a modified version of MRT) and it all started to make sense. So I started to use the technique on nagging problems and was surprised at the positive results, but was still skeptical because of my past. Until one day something happened in public that would normally be a trigger to me but the negative response from the trigger didn't happen. There is an advanced technique that you can learn to where you can use imaginary triggers, which is very effective because your brain can't tell the difference from real and imagined events, and I still wasn't triggered.
I have worked on a few other areas that have been a problem and have had great success. I have quite a bit to work on because I'm a survivor of some prolonged and extreme child abuse and have been diagnosed with Complex PTSD along with a couple other diagnoses. But I'm having some incredible LASTING success that traditional therapy has only had a mild effect on.
I can't recommend the Remmert Technique enough. Give it a try. If you don't have much money, don't fret. There are tons of free videos to learn the technique, along with a free brief course and a great online group to help you also (visit the Remmert website).
