Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of the products, frequently encountering issues such as malfunctioning ice makers, ovens that don't maintain consistent temperatures, and dishwashers that fail to clean or dry effectively. People also reported that appliances, including refrigerators and ovens, broke down prematurely, often within a few years of purchase, leading to considerable frustration. A significant number of consumers also found the customer service to be extremely poor, citing long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and a lack of accountability or proactive communication regarding repairs and warranty claims. Some people were dissatisfied with the product's price, feeling that the high cost did not align with the quality or service received. Conversely, a few other people also felt that some specific appliances, like certain ranges or microwaves, performed well, and a small number of reviewers had positive experiences with individual customer service representatives.

Looks Great, Works Terribly

When we re-modeled our kitchen, we splurged on a II professional-style" Thermador range (specific model: Thermador Pro-Harm 30" Gas Range). It looks great, but cooks like a furnace with no brakes!

Specifically, the oven initially spikes the temperature in the pre-heat cycle, often almost 1 GO-degrees. Set it to 350°F, and you'll get something like 435° F. After about 30 minutes, it settles somewhat - but the temperature continues to fluctuate, generally running 25-35 degrees too hot.

Having logged the problem, a Thermador technician came out and we demonstrated the issue firsthand. He took multiple measurements but didn't really fix anything: his response in a nutshell was 'Thermadors run hot.'

Seriously? For nearly $5,000, you'd expect the oven to at least hit and hold the right temperature. Our old GE range did a better job-for a fraction of the price.

Avoid Bosch/Thermador Extended Warranties - Customer Neglect

I purchased a Thermador 24” dishwasher (Model: DWHD650JFP/D7) with an extended warranty that runs through June 2025, but the extended warranty has turned out to be absolutely worthless.

I submitted a service request (claim) in mid-April 2025. It is now June 27th, and my dishwasher is still broken. No repair. No replacement. Nothing.

In the past two months, I have made more than ten phone calls to Thermador. A service appointment was finally arranged with Johnny’s Appliance & Refrigeration Repair for May 21st. The owner came, diagnosed the issue, and said he would order the necessary parts that day. That was over a month ago. Since then? No repair scheduled. NOTHING.

Every time I call Thermador, I get the same tired line from customer service (Who I am convinced is the same chap answering the phone every time.): “Your case needs to be escalated. Someone will get back to you.” Guess what? They never do. No emails. No callbacks. Radio silence. Not a single follow-up from anyone at Thermador or their warranty department.

This has been a complete and utter failure of customer support. I, as a customer, have been left stranded, while Thermador hides behind red tape and the illusion of “support.” Their outsourced extended warranty service program is a disgrace and is actively destroying Thermador’s reputation.

Let me be blunt: The extended warranty program is BROKEN. The third-party company they’ve hired to manage the program could not run a popcorn stand, let alone a national warranty operation. They are incompetent, disorganized, and utterly disconnected from the customer experience.

I will never — and I mean NEVER — purchase another Thermador or Bosch product again.
If this is how BSH Home Appliances Corporation, under CEO Darcy Clarkson, chooses to run North American operations, then shame on them.

The extended warranty service is horrendous. The support is non-existent. And how they expect to stay in business long-term is beyond comprehension.

DONT BUY THERMADOR

Thermador has the worst service. DO NOT BUY. Purchased the high end PRD364WDGC 36-INCH DUAL-FUEL PRO. GRAND® RANGE WITH GRIDDLE. $15,000 ;The oven has NEVER worked. I was patient and went through the process of service calls (takes a month) , ordering part (a few weeks), coming back to instal the new parts(a month), nothing worked. At this point the service person recommended replacing. Sent in the report and since then, have heard, 'we appreciate your patience" "we are truly sorry for the ongoing delay" "Your case is still under review"......What exactly are they reviewing? AN OVEN THAT HAS NEVER WORKED. I dont think this is much of a head scratcher. For SEVEN MONTHS I have had no oven. My needs clearly have zero impact. They could care less of their customer. They just keep stringing this along. Don't even consider Thermador, RUN from purchasing anything Thermador. Such a regret. I want a refund at this point at buy another brand.

Do not buy Thermador

Do not buy Thermador. We waisted thousands of dollars! Range led panel died one month after warranty - can not use oven. Replacement cost is outrageous. Also the overall features of the range are poor: 1) same size burners which are not good for small pots 2) Star burner design is difficult to clean and actually hurts your hand when wiping inside 3) Oven vent is in back of the cooktop at the same level - food and liguids fall in and you can not clean 4) 36" inch gas oven takes more than 25 minutes to preheat

Sapphire is the best. Not so much the brand.

Review of Thermador Dishwasher

When it comes to dishwashers, my Thermador model stands as the best I've ever owned. It delivers exceptional performance, a testament to its engineering and quality. In many ways, it represents an upgrade over the standard Bosch models, with Thermador adding innovative features that enhance its utility and efficiency.

However, my experience with Thermador as a company leaves much to be desired. The customer service is incredibly lacking. Any attempt to reach out for support is met with frustration. Calls to their customer service are redirected with the unhelpful suggestion to "call your closest service department," leaving you with more questions than answers. The staff seems disconnected from the purpose of their roles, often speaking down to callers and expressing bewilderment as to why one might seek assistance.

Despite these customer service challenges, I find myself recommending the dishwasher. It's important to note that Thermador is owned by Bosch, a company renowned for producing outstanding dishwashers. This connection likely contributes to the superior quality and innovation found in my Thermador unit. I genuinely appreciate the additional features Thermador has introduced, which underscore their commitment to bringing innovation to households.

In summary, while the dishwasher itself is a remarkable appliance, the company's customer service experience leaves much to be desired. I’d never buy any of their other appliances.

Disappointing Experience with Thermador Refrigerator and Service

When I bought my house three years ago, it came with a built-in Thermador refrigerator. At first, it was great—no issues—but recently, it started acting up. The fridge was making a constant beeping noise and wasn’t cooling properly. It was about 5 degrees warmer than it should have been, which isn’t ideal, but at least it was still working.

I decided to schedule a service appointment with Thermador. It took 10 days to get someone to come out. For a brand that’s considered “luxury,” that wait time felt excessive. On the bright side, the technician who came out was very nice—he mentioned he’d been working a 12-hour shift and still had another job to go to after mine. That dedication stood out to me.

He replaced one part, and at first, it seemed like the problem was fixed—until three hours later, when the fridge completely stopped working. By the next morning, it was warm, and absolutely nothing was functioning. I reached back out to the technician and asked if he could come back (I really didn’t want to wait another two weeks for a new appointment). He came back in two days and told me that the fridge now needed three more parts to work again.

Here’s the thing: this fridge is 17 years old. Replacing three parts at this stage feels like throwing money into a bottomless pit, especially when those parts are on backorder.

To make things worse, Thermador has a policy where previous owners can get a “pro-rate” discount on a new appliance—but only if they’re the original owners and can provide a receipt from when the fridge was purchased. First of all, who keeps a receipt for 17 years? Second, I bought the house with this fridge, so I’m not even eligible. I was frustrated but willing to let it go until I realized that Thermador won’t even refund the part I just replaced—the part that ended up killing the fridge entirely.

I called Thermador twice, hoping for some flexibility, but both times I was told, “Sorry, you’re not the original owner, and you don’t have the receipt.” I understand policies are there for a reason, but this experience left me feeling completely unsupported by a brand that markets itself as premium.

The technician was great, but the long wait times, outdated policies, and lack of accountability from Thermador have made me question whether this brand is really worth it.

Do not waste your money on this crappy brand

If you are thinking about buying a thermador product please think again. We recently built a house and decided to splurge and buy thermador appliances for the house and Samsung for the suite.
Have had nothing but problems with the Thermador appliances which cost little more than 3 times the Samsung products.. Their customer service is the worst I have ever come across in how rude they are. Warranty service is one big run around. In a million years I was not expecting to buy a brand like Thermador and be so disappointed. We basically gave up on their dishwasher after 18 months and replaced it with another Samsung but am filing documents with small claims to get compensated for the god awful stovetop induction unit. Save money and a whole lot of headache and heartache and get yourself something that works

I sincerely wish I'd read these reviews…

I sincerely wish I'd read these reviews prior to owning our Thermador Oven. Over $12K and we are now being told that a simple broken glass panel CAN NOT be repaired! The inside glass broke for NO reason due to heat and three attempts to ship the part have resulted in the glass arriving shattered due to poor shipping on the part of Thermador! Now we're being told we can not get the oven repaired! Our attempts to contact Thermador directly have been a joke! YOU CAN NOT SPEAK TO ANYONE! We finally got through to a human being on one day and got hung up on THREE TIMES!!! We feel so very foolish for having made this tremendous investment. Thermador doesn't even post their corporate office information to avoid customer contact! We are now forced to seek legal advice.

Very sorry i bought Thermador…

Very sorry i bought Thermador appliances. We have the entire suite of "luxury" products. I feel stupid that we bought these appliances for our new house build without investigating reviews.
PRO OVEN/RANGE - Their very special patented "Star Burner" turns itself on and off with a loud "POOF" from LOW to XLO (company says it only occurs on XLO. This happens one to two times a minute! I make bone broth soup, it sounds like a noisy outdoor gas grill going off and on every minute inside the house for 12 hours.
DISHWASHER: The dishwasher bottom shelf constantly pulls out of the unit/and off track. It makes all kinds of loud musical sounds with no rhyme or reason EXCEPT when trying to turn the thing on, i have to hold my ear next to the unit to hear a tiny 'pip' that indicates it has been turned on. HOME CONNECT App doesn't work or connect, read the reviews, don't even bother.. CUSTOMER SERVICE: have been on hold for up to an hour and then don't get an answer. One time, after that long wait, I was referred to read the manual, though the manual for my specific range doesn't even exist. On a different call, i told the gal i had two induction burners on my pro range, she told me that is not possible with my model though i was looking right at them! On another call, i was trying to figure out how to use my new microwave's defrost feature. Here was the not-intuitive answer, punch in a desired time, then the power button 8 times to get to a manual defrost. The customer service gal, in response to my design complaint, suggested i could just defrost the item in hot water on the counter. Hmmm.

I wish I could give zero stars!

I wish I could give zero stars!
We purchased our double wall steamer oven just under 2 years ago. I was ok with the 6mth wait to receive the oven, but completely unprepared to deal with the constant issues with the oven and more so with the completely abysmal customer service experiences.
We are already on our second oven, so this one is a little over 15 moths old. A little over two months we experienced issues with the fascia and display module. The technician came to replace the control panel after being advised by his remote tech supervisor to NOT replace the display module. After he left it took about 24 hrs for the problem to be back. The oven constantly turns itself on and off at random until it dies completely. If I turn the breaker on and off it comes back on...only to go through the same exercise over and over again.
It has now been two solid months for me to try to get the facia and the front panel replaced and there is no end in sight!
For once their scheduling system is a mess. I schedule an appointment, get an email notification only for no one to show up and to be told the appointment is a week later. That has happened three times now! The technician is also not receiving the right parts. I finally managed to have on the reps on the phone send the part directly to me—only to discover that they sent me the control module again, the only part that was already replaced in February. Every time I call back the work order states the same thing: the control panel needs to be replaced.
I finally managed to get a hold of someone that sounded vaguely competent last Thursday and was promised the RIGHT part would be overnighted and I would receive an email with the details. Crickets! I was smart enough to write down the order number for the part. Called again this morning. Finally preyed the UPS tracking number out of her, only to find out that the part had not even shipped. My next appointment is tomorrow. Guess who is NOT getting her oven fixed tomorrow...

Thermador is a scam

Thermador is a scam. It wears the cloak of a high brand company but the appliances start breaking down within a year or 2. The worst part is that all their customer service is outsourced and there is literally NO ONE to answer your calls.
My dishwasher has broken down several times. Now my oven is broken down and the steam oven is showing signs of aging. I bought these appliances in 2015. I have hardly used my oven.
Please DO NOT fall for this company.

Avoid Thermador

Thermador is a nightmare. I'd purchased a Thermador range/dishwasher/refrigerator a few years ago, all are problematic, the refrigerator has been the worst (ice builds up, fridge freezes, freezer doesn't). Because I saw so many bad reviews for Thermador repairs, I tried to get an independent repair service to come out. After contacting four companies in my area, I learned no one will service them because they're junk, and I had no choice but to go directly to Thermador.

The problem was identified, a replacement part was ordered, and that's when the fun began. Turns out Thermador ordered the WRONG part, so appointment #2 was a wash, the part was ordered again, this time two parts were sent to my home, BOTH wrong, and appointment #3 was a wash. In between #2 and #3, another appointment was cancelled by Thermador, without any notification or reason (I found out when my repairperson didn't show up). So several appointment days of sitting at home, defrosting everything, throwing out a ton of food each time, and STILL Thermador doesn't have the correct part.

Oh, and they've charged me $650 so far for the "repairs," which haven't actually happened. When I complained (wait times for CS are over 45 minutes), nobody knows anything, everyone needs lots of documentation before they'll even consider my case, and in the meantime, I've had a non-functional fridge for several months.

I can't imagine a more incompetent company. Even the repairperson trashed them, saying their software is dated, they can't even tell what parts were ordered or if they've even shipped, he said he was quitting if things didn't improve. When your own employee trashes your company to customers, it's probably a bad sign. Also, the appliance company where I'd purchased everything said my problems were common with Thermador customers and they're no longer recommending the brand.

Finally, I've decided to just junk everything Thermador and start over. That's my happy ending.

Considering a Thermador Range? DON'T DO IT! (Inept Service, Lack Replacement Parts, Quality Issues)

Stay away from Thermador! The ranges are attractive, but they do not age well.

First, the range oven was painfully slow to heat, sometimes over 30 to 40 minutes to reach the desired baking temperature.

Second, too many problems began to surface within just a few years: For example, the broiler went out and the Thermador service people could never find the problem (poorly trained staff).

Third, the oven and range experienced a myriad of other problems and Thermador simply couldn't service as the parts were no longer manufactured (note: quality ranges have a 15-year expected life expectancy, which means Bosch or Thermador is remiss in not supplying parts to older ranges). We had to search the Internet to find whatever parts we could as Thermador cannot be bothered to source.

Fourth, as I alluded to earlier, the Thermador technicians are INEPT AND INCOMPETENT! At best they cannot fix a problem, at worst, THEY BROKE THE RANGE! The last technician came over to fix the oven and broke the oven door. I was watching him, and he tried claiming it wasn't his fault somehow.

Don't buy Thermador. You'll regret it. It might seem like a good range for 2, maybe 3 years, but after that, the honeymoon is over. We will never purchase a Thermador ever again.

Customer service is beyond pitiful

Customer service is beyond pitiful. Now 5 days into the order. I ordered a part on-line and paid $20 for two day service. Just got off a 45 min wait with a customer service rep who told me that I would have to call the sub-contractor. I waited 45 min for this. Then another 20 min to get through the sub-contractor phone tree only to find out I MIGHT get it later this week because all orders go through another entity in North Carolina. Absolutely pitiful.

Terrible appliances and customer service

We purchased an entire kitchen of Thermador appliances 2 years ago in a kitchen renovation. The Thermador refrigerator arrived not working and Thermador refuses to replace it. Instead, they will only send technicians out to fix the issues. We are on our third repair of the same parts with no estimate of parts arrival and it has been over a month of waiting. They do not back their very expensive appliances, they will only continue to attempt fixing their appliances. DO NOT buy Thermador appliances

Would never buy this brand again

My 6 month old refrigerator has a non-working freezer. It has been over a month with 4 service visits and nothing has really been done to fix the problem. The service techs do not seem to even be trained on their own products. Calling customer support you sit on hold for 50 minutes and are constantly told this is higher than normal wait times. If it is always higher than normal it is not higher than normal is it? I thought Thermador was supposed to be a high end brand like Subzero but it is trash I would never recommend anyone purchase their products.

Thermador Products and Customer Service are Terrible

Thermador case #2770918786
My entire 3 year old kitchen is from Thermador and I WILL NEVER BUY AN APPLIANCE FROM THERMADOR AGAIN!! A few weeks ago we changed the ice maker filter and then it wouldn’t make ice. Thermador sent a technician to come adjust the filter and it seemed to be working. 48 hours later the freezer stopped making ice. I immediately called Thermador and reported the problem, was told there would be no charge since the issue was still the ice maker. After weeks of waiting with no ice they sent the same technician back today. He said there was now “coincidentally” a new problem with the ice maker. He said he fixed it (I still don’t know because it takes at least 4 hours to make new ice) and then told me I owed over $300 for the repair. I told him that’s not what Thermador told me. While I was on hold with Thermador customer service the technician screamed at me, refused to wait to resolve the issue and stormed out of my house. After speaking to Thermador for over an hour and escalating the complaint to the Team Lead named April (she refused to tell me her last name, location, extension/email) she took the side of the technician and said that the two visits were unrelated even though both involved the ice maker being broken. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone. Their customer service is absolutely awful. Never again!!!
