I can only assume that they taste tested this product in a prison for the criminally insane. The texture of this food substitute might appeal to a robot, also, or a cyborg, it is more of a paste that a dip. If there is any seasoning in it then it must be some kind of seasoning that is able to take taste Away from food, rather than add to it. It could be useful in this way to cut the taste of over seasoned food but it is still so distasteful that the anti taste should be accompanied by an anti price, such as negative 50 dollars. Stores should be paying 100 dollars per pound to customers willing to take this product away from their stores.

I tried the cheese and truffle sauce and it was delicious. I can only find it available on thesimpleroot site though and would love to see it in supermarkets instead of having to buy 4 at a time. Would also like to see on the site if it is freezable. Besides that, I am not vegan but this has to be the best vegan product I’ve ever tried and even better than dairy cheese sauces.

Creamy Pesto was the winner for me!
Creamy, yet a light delicious sauce. The fact that it’s all plant based, made going back for seconds far too easy!
Yet to try the Truffle & Ch**se Sauce, but looking at the reviews, I can’t wait!!

Where have these sauces been!? I've tried a couple of the flavours (truffle & ch**se and spicy satay) and can't wait to try them all. They are fresh and delicious. I made a family meal and no one even realised it was a vegan meal - which is great for all taste preferences in the household.

Can confirm that Jamie Beer's analysis despite being a first-time reviewer is right. Particularly good for stir fries.

I have tried 4 of the sauces so far and think they're all great! The pesto I had simply stirred through some pasta for an easy, tasty lunch. I made vegan cauli cheese with the white sauce & it's a really good base (with added nooch and cheeze of course). I absolutely loved the satay sauce with stir fried noodles, tofu & veg and topped with cashews & spring onions. Aim to make tofu satay sticks with that too. Star of the 4 though definitely the truffle style sauce, soooo good as a macaroni cheese with crumb topping, amazing! Can't wait to seek out the rest of the range....

Fabulous vegan sauces and dips, beautifully packaged and presented with delicious recipe cards for inspiration. Really helpful to us in the event catering industry when we need to pull a last minute vegan dish out of the bag! Super delicious, fresh and healthy! We will definitely be keeping these in the fridge!!!!

All of the sauces I have tried from the Simple Root have been so delicious and packed with flavour. I have been using them weekly since first trying and they have great flavours to choose one- it’s hard to pick a favourite!

Loved the truffle Mac n cheese trial dish! The sauces I have tried have been very good and looking forward to the cheese substitute going into production !!

When I tried the vegan cheese, I was blown away. Best vegan cheese I've ever had, and really good compared to normal cheese too!

I've tried the Satay style and White Sauce varieties. The satay sauce one is quite fruity, and is great with either meat base for veggie based curries. Obviously, because it is nut free, those who can could enhance the nuttiness with a sprinkle of nuts on the finished dish.
The White Sauce works well in lasagne type dishes; it is exactly what it says...a white sauce to act as a base. I haven't 'pimped it up' with fresh herbs but I think this would work, as might adding mushrooms to use as a 'pour over' sauce.

Wow, the Truffle and Cheese sauce is incredible, I actually can’t believe it’s vegan! Best one I’ve tried.

I was lucky enough to try some of the Simple Root products a few weeks ago and have to say that I was mightily impressed. As a family, we are normally quite avid meat-eaters, but these plant-based sauces - especially the satay and bechamel - were delicious and are now a regular feature of our weekly meal planning!!

Absolutely delicious, really creamy- the best non-dairy sauces I've tried. The pesto is really fresh and flavoursome, the whole family enjoyed. Love the all natural ingredients too.
