gorgeous chair priceless service
We found it really difficult to find the right swivel chair. The prices varied hugely with no clear reason and only a tiny number had dimensions with the product details.
With Sofa King I rang up and immediately could discuss our awkward front-door-porch being at right angles to the lounge door shenanigans!
(There would have been no point buying a large chair if you can’t get it in the house!)
It was so helpful and reassuring to be able to chat over the phone and continue with the personal service via email throughout choosing the fabric for the chair, right through to when it was finished and being delivered.
I actually enjoyed this process of buying a chair I can relax and recover from a serious heart illness from ; rather than the anxious chore I thought it was going to be !

Change Of Heart
Following on my review in late Sept 18.I firstly want to apologise on my initial review of the company and say that the service I experienced from the thesofaking is mild in comparison to the service I received and still receiving of one of the big 3 retailers. False and empty promises. Their new IT platform malfunctioning.Stock being lost in transit. Final monies taken and various delivery windows arranged but then no show. Close for Xmas break and then they turn up at 8pm Xmas Eve, no tools to assemble suite and no time to wait for packaging of a nine piece corner sofa. The best thing is 4weeks after delivery they arrange a second delivery of a suite they have already delivered.I honestly do think that after reading all the reviews on thesofaking I may have been too hasty in my initial perception and again would like to apologise and hope that other readers give the chance to Marks company to offer a service that the bigger ones carnt but still offer through persistent adverts. Good luck to thesofaking in the future.

Visited the showroom last week after we saw a sofa on the web site, if you click on ‘showroom’ on the web site is tells you what they have on display each month cause it changes. They can’t display everything they sell on there web site. The best thing about visiting is the 100’s of fabrics you get to choose from on the hand made in England ranges. We thought they were just available in the colours on line but when you visit the choice is crazy! So we bought a paradise 2 piece set for £699 changed the cord fabrics to brushed gold velvet (no extra cost!) and it was all delivered 3 weeks later for free, they even set it up in our lounge. You can’t fault this company the quality was better that we saw in Dfs, more comfy and it took just 2 weeks to make and 1/2 the price of other sofa stores we visited. No pushy sales people, really relaxed informal place with a lovely Coffee shop. If we could give this place 10 stars we would. Thanks to Mark for advice we will be back for a bed next month 👍

PERCEPTION GOES A LONG WAY IN BUSINESS
I purchased a new sofa online 16/9/18 and then decided within 1hr that I wanted to exercise my rights to cancel as I had purchased an item with no exact delivery date and an additional delivery charge which prompted on the initial online purchase after transacting. On phoning thesofaking the next day with the contact number advised .This is just an automated answering machine. Contact can only be made if you know the MD's mobile number or if you try using the online request form you might be in luck and get a reply. I certainly didn't.. I contacted again but this time I used the online request as though it was my place of work to which I got an instant reply but from a different landline. We had our discussion regarding my order and the reasons for me cancelling which Mark the MD I think wasn't initially happy about and tried to convince me otherwise with his "Dell Boy" like attitude which immediately made me go with my gut reaction and cancel my order for full credit. He agreed to the credit if I read the T&C's by sending an email to him directly. I received a return email that was short and brief and informal. I phoned the MD to chase the credit up using the second landline I had obtained but that too was an automated answering machine. I emailed him to which I did get a reply back saying I've processed it. I eventually received the credit back 27/9/18. My experience is somewhat mixed and I see that thesofaking has had some good reviews. I honestly do think that thesofaking might actually be a good shopping experience but perception goes a long way in business. Thank you for the full credit and I wish you all the best in the future.

I was very reluctant to order a sofa…
I was very reluctant to order a sofa online but after speaking with Mark I went with my gut instinct that it will be fine and I'm so glad I did. A similar sofa I had looked at from a well known store was double the price and a 12 week wait,and I felt under pressure to put a deposit down but luckily I walked away and found sofaking. The customer service was fantastic, the leather was beautiful, the delivery guys were on time. It's nice to still have bussiness that offer a personal touch without the pressure to buy. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I order the Sofas from thesofaking.co.uk website (Duo Brown Reclining Leather Sofas:) because I'm getting for a good price and as they said they will delivery within 28days. Then I have contacted them after 1 month regarding my delivery estimation date and guess what the company MD Mark said that he'll let me know once the sofas will be dispatched. I waited for 2 more weeks and he said the same reason again. I have waited again and finally, I received the below email.
Dear Surender Padakanti
I am writing with regards to order number:- xxx and your request for a full refund of £789 as we are unable to give you a delivery date of sofas you ordered that were not in stock.
Last week one of our suppliers (Ultra Furniture) went into liquidation which was a surprise.
Unfortunately, Ultra’s liquidation caused a knock on effect and our merchant service supplier, Global Payments, (the company we use to process our on line and in store card transactions) contacted us and insisted we gave them £50,000 as extra security. This was on top of the £20,000 they have had for the last 8 years. Merchant banks hold security in order for businesses to be able to take card payments and it is a regular practice in retail. It covers them in case of chargebacks and refunds but to ask for a total of £70,000 from a relatively small family business like The Sofa King is ridiculous. After numerous conversations the impression I got was they don’t really want to deal with small businesses hence asking for such a large amount knowing we would not agree.
Once I informed them we were not prepared to pay them the extra £50,000 they ended our contract straight away which has left us unable to process refunds. Please do not panic, Global Payments still have the original £20,000 of our money and so all refunds are covered easily. It just means you will need to contact the card provider you used to pay and ask them for a chargeback and you will get all your money back.
I hope you can see this is totally out of our control. I am making a formal complaint to the financial banking ombudsman as in 18 years of trading as I am disgusted with the way we have been treated. We are in the process of getting another merchant card provider on board, one that understands the needs of smaller businesses. If you contact your card company they will explain what to do with regards to a charge back for not receiving goods, it’s very easy and fast and a copy of this letter will be enough. Once again apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

Recommended by a friend this is how sofa shopping should be!
I visited the showroom after a friend recommended this store. I was going to buy on line but the prices were too low to believe. But they are correct. They seem to work on a large turn over and small profit basis so i bought a leather reclining pantha corner suite for £649 and it was delivered just 3 days later. No pushy sales staff If you do visit the Northampton showroom but now ive visited i wouldn't hesitate to buy from their web site. all in all Fab!
