How great to see Caroline as new Hostess of The Southgate, a lady who understands the village and the requirements of the people who use it. We held a local wake at The Southgate this week and the food was first rate, plentiful and delicious. The Southgate is a venue we all know, and if we give Caroline a chance the venue will live up to all expectations it deserves. Sunday dinners are great too
More than half the menu not available. Complete confusion over who ordered what with us and other customers. I asked for chips instead of salad with my veggie lasagne, they said that's fine, when it arrived they didn't bring the garlic bread that was included in the meal and said it was a cost issue, they could have just told me that at the start. The service is a shambles. The food was bland and portions stingy.
