Information provided by various external sources

We started The Wool Company making socks from kid mohair, the fleece shorn from baby Angora goats, but soon realised that there was a serious shortage of supply of high quality natural wool products of many kinds and started to develop our range. As well as selling to retail customers online we supply a number of corporate customers including world wide hotel chains, boutiques, stores, boutique hotels, breweries chains etc. Our wholesale division is relatively small but growing well, we now have excellent wholesale clients in the UK and abroad. At The Wool Company we have always felt that the the use of natural fibres for bedding and clothing is better in every way than petrochemical products and it is our mission to share our belief with the rest of the world that cares to listen. Our watchword is Quality: we source as many of our products as we can from the UK and most of our suppliers make their products in Britain and our famous sheepskins are mostly from Devon and Cornwall, but we also like to think that we supply the very best quality wool products from around the world so you can be confident that whatever you buy from us is of superb quality. We don't favour inferior UK products over better products from abroad. The Wool Company's priorities: High Quality ...... Value for Money ...... Local Sourcing. - Because of our low overheads you can also be confident of getting real value for money from us: you may be able to buy cheaper elsewhere but we don't believe you will get the same quality for the price! We are still a small company; the whole family gets involved in one way or another (our children have all helped with product testing, modelling, gift wrapping, packing and stock-taking and even art direction!) and, when the children are at school, our team totals eight. So if you contact us you will know you're getting a real personal service! Copyright © The Wool Company Higher Hill Farm, Cardinham, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL30 4EG

Lovely item, great colours, fast delivery. Very pleased.

I was very pleased with the purchase of a wool blanket as a new baby present. It was very reasonably priced, the colours were lovely and it arrived promptly. I personally would have preferred it to have been packaged in tissue paper than than a cellphane wrap as that seemed a bit harsh for the beautiful item.

Call a blanket a throw, & then it has an appeal as a useful item for uni & beyond!

My son received mainly money for his 18th birthday, enabling him to chose a few items for uni. I referred to a blanket as a throw, & immediately it had appeal as a useful item for uni & beyond on which to spend some of his birthday money. I advised him to get a pure wool throw, for both warmth & durability. We found the Wool Company had a good choice of pure wool throws at an acceptable price, marketed with a modern appeal. The delivery service was both free & fast, & my son has now started uni with a useful/attractive accessory to enhance his student room! Thank you.

Always keep you informed

We were told when we ordered a blanket there was a delay on the colour. Regular emails from the Wool Company kept us informed on a delivery date which was reasuring as other companys leave you in limbo. The quality of the blanket was as expected.

Excellent service and good value

Very fast and efficient service, even though the order was placed over a bank holiday weekend. email updates at every stage of the process and a timed delivery slot as standard with the goods arriving within the stated one hour time slot - so helpful for planning out my day. Goods were very well but not excessively packaged and are good quality. The summer weight wool duvet is not "puffy" like a down one so looks smooth and flat on the bed, draping the sides neatly; it's not snuggly but it's light and comfortable and falls cosily around the body without leaving draughty gaps (haven't tried the thicker duvet yet). The medium pillows are well-filled, comfortable and supportive but, like the duvet, you don't sink into them as much as with a down filling.

snug as a bug

This wool mattress topper is a great addition to make your bed lovely and cosy. It fits my very deep mattress perfectly and is very easy to put on and take off. I use the cotton side at present but will look forward to using the wool side when the colder nights kick in! I am 100% pleased with my purchase and recommend the wool company for a fast and ultra efficient service.

No longer counting sheep....I'm lying comfortably on one.

I have got Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and suffer from severe unending pain and have sores on the heeks of my feet. A friend told me that a medical sheepskin should help and so I looked you up and ordered one. Now I can sleep much more comfortably and have less pain. I will definitely buy another one as I would like more of it to lye on, if only sheep were bigger!
I am also very pleased with the quality and colour and was impressed with how quickly my sheepskin got to me.
Thank you very much. I rate this product and company as 5 stars.

Reply from The Wool Company

Dear Emily

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this and we are so pleased that the sheepskin helps you tolerate your condition.

I am also very pleased to report that within the next couple of weeks we will finally be receiving even larger sheepskins - from bigger sheep. These are from American breeds of Merino as we couldn't find them as large anywhere else. We have been searching for skins like this for years and are thrilled that we have finally found quality skins in this size - very few and far between. Please check out this link
http://www.thewoolcompany.co.uk/sheepskins/medical-sheepskin.html
and look for the Merino sheepskin over the next few weeks.

They are enormous and fabulously dense and very supportive.

Thanks again for troubling to write...

Kind regards
Harry Mayman
