Get a quote not a estimate, or like me you could find your final bill is almost twice the estimate price, and you could find your self taken to court by Mr Thorne, who did not win.
Looking at the reply from Thorne gardens he seems to live in a different world, the work that I had done after he left the site was to put right the work he did not complete I.e. remove a large amount of roots, and had nothing to do with preparing the ground for turfing.
This was covered by another quote and subsequent work by another contractor.

After contacting various gardeners who failed to turn up a neighbour recommended Kerry. At the time our grounds were a jungle which Kerry has cleared, redesigned, landscaped and is now not only low maintenance but also a relaxing place to enjoy throughout the changing seasons. Quotes and invoices are always itemised. Kerry and team are reliable, maintain communication and all work undertaken is completed to a high standard.

Kerry has been looking after my gardens for at least 3 years and has come with me during every house move. He also looks after my brother's house in Kingsworthy and I am often fighting with my sister in law to pinch him first. Very reliable and leaves my garden and front area in a very nice clean state. Nice to come back to after a long days work. No hesitation to recommend and pricing is very fair and honest work always carried out. Looking to get some landscaping work done next summer with him.

Kerry has looked after the gardens in both houses we rented in Winchester - he’s conscientious, timely, cleans up after himself, does a great job and doesn’t charge the earth. On the back of friends hearing about him and seeing his work he now also looks after their gardens too...further recommendation if you need any of the quality of his work. Kerry’s an honest, hardworking chap who’s always been happy to help us if we’ve needed a spare pair of hands - very happy to write this review and recommend him to anyone looking for garden or landscaping help in the Winchester area.

I highly recommend Kerry. He's done an amazing job in my garden, it now looks brand new. He took down two big conifers and several small one. He laid slabs where the conifer had been - you'd never know a tree had been there! He also dug out hedges in the front garden, then painted two sheds and all the fences. He fixed a wobbly fence and a leaking roof to the summer house. He's very tidy and a perfectionist, so you will definetly get top notch service. As i work nights i trusted Kerry to let himself in and to keep the dog and stroppy teenager safe, which he did and he now has a friends for life. Kerry's fees are very reasonable compared to others in the area. He's a generally all round nice guy, nothing was too much trouble.

Kerry has done wonders in my garden.
He is very hard working, going far beyond what l expected him to do.
The garden looks lovely.
He had made a small seating area, fixed my fence (l didn’t ask him to do this but he had a go and has made a great job of it) replanted pots, laid stones and trimmed shrubs.
Nothing is too much trouble.
He is also very likeable and extremely trustworthy.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Initially we had a climber that is such hard work cut back. The work was so good, tidy and neat that we had Thorne Gardens back to tidy up the front and back gardens for spring. So pleased with the work, shrubs nice and neat, some roots removed, leaves raked up and hedges shaped. Fantastic, efficient, friendly and excellent value for money.
Will definitely be repeat customers.

Was impressed throughout and pleased with the results. I asked for a quote for patio laying, excavating, turfing and patio cleaning. The quote was very reasonable - nothing on top of material costs, and a good hourly labour rate. The work was done speedily, and I was consulted honestly throughout. Very happy with the end result as it has transformed our garden into a space we are proud of. Thanks.
