Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 556 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently praise the user-friendly app and the painless, easy-to-use autodraw device for blood collection, which many find superior to traditional finger-prick methods. The service is frequently highlighted for its efficiency, with many people appreciating the quick turnaround times for test results and the comprehensive, easy-to-understand doctor's reports. However, some customers also noted issues with the autodraw device failing to collect enough blood, leading to frustration and the need for replacement kits. A few other people also felt that the website was difficult to use for ordering multiple tests, and some experienced problems with unlabelled tests or lack of communication.

It is impossible to cancel

It is impossible to cancel this service. I have held a subscription against my will for about two years now. Every time they send me a test, I immediately send them an email trying to cancel the subscription. They say that I haven’t sent them the correct email under which the subscription was made. But it’s the only email address I’ve ever had. Apparently there’s no remedy for this situation other than bill me into perpetuity and send me tests that I do not use. Avoid it all costs.

Not what i expected

I’m a bit confused about the value of this. I keep seeing adverts saying you should stop taking supplements you don’t need and instead base everything on your blood work. So I paid around £180 for the test, which isn’t cheap.

Now I’ve got the results back, but I still don’t really know what has changed or what supplements I should or shouldn’t take. Unless I pay even more money to speak to someone, the results don’t actually tell me what to do.

At the moment it feels pretty similar to going to the doctor for a blood test — you get numbers back but no real guidance unless you pay again. Maybe I’ve missed something, but I expected clearer direction after paying for the test.

Hi John,

We're sorry to hear that you're disappointed in the level of guidance in your report. If your results fell within the normal range or it wasn't clinically appropriate, your report might not contain supplement recommendations. We recommend regular testing so that you can track and monitor how your health changes over time.

Your feedback has been shared with our clinical team and will be used to help us review how these reports are personalised, as well as how our service is advertised.

We want every report to be as helpful as possible — so if you'd like us to take another look, please drop us an email to hello@thriva.co.

Great ultra fast service with good…

Great ultra fast service with good clear instructions for taking own blood sample and the selfdraw device was way easier to use than expected with no pain or struggling to get blood from a finger prick. Sent off package same day had results in under 48 hours, will definitely doing follow up tests to monitor my progress on my health journey. Thank you.

Good service!

Good service!
the report provided by the Dr was helpful and the results were easy to understand. Also the blood draw arm thing is great, much prefered over finger prick way!

Hoping they will add more test options in future and I look forward to tracking my health over time

Okay for a initial test but no worth it long term

The autodraw device was very easy to use, results turnaround wasn’t as quick as other companies but still within 48 hours. My form wouldn’t save the choices for lifestyle and got stuck on 97% completion, so when it came to a doctor reviewing my results, he told me to excercise more. I excercise regularly so this pretty much rendered my personal feedback useless so I was upset about that, was fairly expensive as well and to retest in 3 months there was no discount applied so looking around £90 for a male hormone test alone which is expensive but the subscription was fairly easy to cancel

Quick, easy & painless.

The process was so quick and easy.
The test arrived 48 hours after I ordered it, I did the blood test (auto draw) the next day. It was easy and completely painless, retuned the test that day, received my results the following evening. The results are shown as a graph and with a detailed description from a doctor.
I discovered a deficiency that my GP had not tested for.
Brilliant service.

Feeling conned.

The (thyroid) blood test itself and posting process is seamless, however the feedback I received was very basic and just referred me to my normal GP. I contacted my GP and they said I needed an NHS blood test, which was initially something I wanted to avoid. They don’t seem to take private results which is hugely disappointing, so I’m back at the start. Wasted £100 on a blood test that I need redoing anyway. I wouldn’t recommend. Don’t waste your money. PLUS! They have the cheek to ask for £30 extra to get a plan of action for me.

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing this feedback, and we’re genuinely sorry to hear you’ve come away feeling disappointed.

We completely understand how frustrating it is to pay for a private test, only to then be told you’ll need repeat NHS bloods before your GP can take any action.

A helpful bit of context is that Thriva isn’t a diagnostic service, and we can’t replace a GP’s clinical care. Our tests are designed for tracking and prevention, helping you spot changes over time and understand what might be worth discussing. Your GP is responsible for diagnosing and prescribing treatment. Because NHS labs and GP systems use their own processes and reference ranges, and need results they can formally record within their pathway, some practices will still request an NHS blood test even when you’ve had private results done elsewhere.

That said, your Thriva results shouldn’t be “wasted”. They can still be a useful starting point for a more informed conversation with your GP, helping to highlight what to re-check and what to monitor.

On the “£30 plan of action” point, we hear you. This is completely optional and is there for customers who would like additional clinical guidance alongside their results. If you’re already speaking with your GP, you may decide you don’t need this extra support, and that’s absolutely fine.

If there's anything our support team can help with, you can reach us at hello@thriva.co and we’ll be happy to help.

Really impressed with Thriva

Really impressed with Thriva. The whole process from ordering to getting results was straightforward - no hassle at all. The blood withdrawal kit is foolproof; I was nervous about doing it at home, but their instructions made it so simple I got a full sample on the first go. The app has a clean interface, easy to navigate, and you get your results there with proper context. I like that a doctor actually reviews your results and leaves detailed notes about what everything means for your health. That really adds credibility and makes you feel like someone’s actually looking at your numbers, not just spitting out data. Highly recommend if you want insight into your health without the clinic visit hassle.

5-stars! The process was very efficient & smooth. I ordered a blood sample test but made a typo mistake when sending it back. Nevertheless, a customer service agent named Holly was very helpful & attentive. She sorted this problem out efficiently. Thank you!

Unbelievably fast turn around

Unbelievably fast turn around, simple easy to use app and dashboard, gave me credit when a test was inconclusive, communication is appropriate and not too much or overly sales based. Top tier service.
