Hi Elena, we are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy our balm but ask that you give it another go. Per the instructions on our site and the tin, we recommend using it in small amounts frequently with daily applications not being nearly enough for anything but the most mild cases.

In regard to your own psoriasis getting worse, you mentioned in your email to us that you are struggling with a fungal infectionon. While our balm has an incredibly effective but gentle preservative system (it passed its challenge test with flying colors) applying it to fungal infections will do nothing or make it worse. We highly recommend getting on top of the fungal infection (speak to your healthcare provider for anti fungal) while ensuring the skin is kept clean and the environment dry to avoid another one. Once the fungus is gone, you may find our balm to be much more helpful.

Of course, feel free to email us at hola@thunderbirdskin.com if you have any further questions xx

Hands starting to look normal again

I’ve just tried the rescue balm, I have quite mild psoriasis that mainly affects my finger and knuckle joints but can looks very angry when it flares up. Two days of using this product and the redness is down and hands starting to look normal again. My only gripe is that it doesn’t smell great but at the same time any nice smelling lotion has always made my hands a lot worse. Its a thumbs up from me

Thank you Thunderbird!

I have suffered with serious eczema all around the body for 7 years now. I got prescription after prescription; they'd quickly solve the issue, but after a few days it'd flare up.

Last year I was getting desperate and looked for natural alternatives as the rash was growing onto my face. I found Thunderbird and gave it a shot.

A year later, the eczema intensity has decreased about 95%! The only advice I can give is that you should give it time; for me, I only saw effects after applying it day by day consistently after a week or so, unlike the prescription steroids, which act pretty much immediately.

Also, please take the 1-star reviews with a pinch of salt; they reflect people who don't realise that skincare products vary in effectiveness for different individuals.

Bad reaction to product, zero accountability

I had a clear adverse reaction to Thunderbird Skin’s Rescue Balm. Within minutes my skin became bright red and intensely itchy. I washed it off immediately, but the reaction persisted and I had to take an antihistamine.
I contacted the company promptly and explained the situation politely. The response I received was dismissive and concerning.
I was told: “Just because a new treatment hasn’t performed a biblical miracle on your skin overnight doesn’t mean it isn’t working… Be patient (seriously, give it at least 4 weeks).”
I was also told that the reaction was likely due to steroid overuse, despite the fact that I do not use steroid creams.
Rather than acknowledging a possible product reaction or prioritising skin safety, I was advised to “push through” and continue using a product that had already caused visible inflammation. A refund was refused.
I have never experienced this level of patronising and unsafe guidance from a skincare company. Advising customers to continue using a product after an acute reaction, while dismissing their account and refusing a refund, is not responsible practice.
Based on my experience, I would urge caution before purchasing from Thunderbird Skin.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few important points for anyone reading.
At no stage do we advise customers to “push through” an acute adverse reaction such as burning, redness, or itching. Our standard guidance — which is provided in good faith and framed with clarifying questions — is that any product causing immediate irritation should be discontinued, and we encourage patch testing with all new skincare products.
The comments referenced in this review were taken from a broader explanation about how active skincare can take time to show benefits in the absence of adverse reactions. They were not intended to dismiss, minimise, or override reports of acute irritation, nor to suggest continued use in the presence of visible inflammation.

We also did not state that the reviewer was using topical steroids; this was raised as one of several general possibilities that can contribute to heightened skin sensitivity, which is common practice in skincare consultations when full histories are unknown.

As stated in our emails with you, the advice is generalised and was prefaced with qualifying questions to allow you find which pieces are relevant to you. We apologise if you found this to be difficult to follow and will look into how we can make this simpler.

As a small business, our refund policy applies to unopened or unused products, and this is clearly stated at the point of purchase. We cannot and will not accept opened, used products for a return. Due to this, we offer our Trial Size Minis so that anyone can try before committing to a full size product.

Not the best

I bought this cream hoping it would cure my psoriasis but it made it look very red and inflamed , I tried it for a week and couldn’t believe how bad my psoriasis looked since using it , it was bright red blotchy patches on my elbows and arms , I stopped using it immediately. Was very disappointed really thought it would be a miracle balm

The balm is bad but the customer service is far worse…

Unfortunately the balm did not work for me. That’s fine and not the reason for the negative review. I returned the product due to the reaction and they did not care to ask what my reaction was or what they can do to help. They just told me that I need to send it back at my own cost. When they received it back, they went to lengths to try and make my refund ineligible. They then tried to charge me more than what was advertised on their website for them to send it back. When they received my chargeback from my bank they turned nasty and played the blame game. Not professional at all and will not recommend the balm or the company to anyone. Avoid companies like this - will do anything to keep your money. Phil from “customer service”needs further training

Thank you for your review! To touch on the product not being suitable for you, Luke immediately sent you relevant information on why this might be and some tips while also offering an apology. This is about all we can do as we are not your healthcare provider.

In regards to your return, it was rejected as it arrived damaged due to inadequate packaging being used on your part. While your courier recommend bubble wrapping each item and shipping them in a box, they arrived to us wrapped in tissue paper and a plastic bag. We also advise against mailing it in a bag in our own Refund Policy.

As the products were severely damaged and not in the condition they were sold to you in, the return was rejected.

We offered to reship them to you for £1 more than we charge to ship a standard order (where packaging is subsidised in the products' cost) to cover the additional packaging we would have to use to ensure no further damage would occur. This is still an option if you wish to take it.

Once you filed a fraudulent chargeback for everything, including items you did not return, Phil reached out and professionally advised you on our next actions and asked for you to cancel the chargeback. Throughout his correspondence with you, he has gone above and beyond in explaining why the return was rejected and why you are not entitled to a refund. He did this despite the verbal abuse and unprofessional accusations levied by yourself.

While we are sorry that you have not had an ideal experience, we cannot be held responsible for you not following your courier's and our own guidelines for packaging returns.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that the product did not work as expected for you.
Skin conditions such as eczema can be highly individual, and while our formulations are designed to be gentle, we understand that not every product will suit every skin type. We would also like to note that we do not recommend using products several months after opening. The Rescue Balm has a three-month period after opening, and using it beyond this timeframe may affect product stability, which could potentially explain the flare-up you experienced during the second use.

We understand that pricing is an important consideration, and our products are priced to reflect the quality, concentration, and sourcing of the ingredients used, many of which are more commonly found in premium skincare formulations.

For additional support, we also share guidance on managing eczema and sensitive skin on our website, which some customers find helpful when choosing and using skincare products.

My Daughter has very sensitive skin and…

My Daughter has very sensitive skin and can have flare ups at any time, quite often caused by soap products, but heat also and I even think some things that she eats, she came home the other week screaming in pain due to the itching on the back of her legs, they were red raw, I ordered this cream to try as we have tried many others!! When it arrived a few days later her legs were really bad, very sore and dry, within half an hour of putting this on she said her legs felt better, and within 3-4 days her skin had returned to normal! It really has been great, my only negative in the smell is not the most pleasant, but I assume that is because they don’t add any unnecessary fragrance to it, but that is a small price to pay for the excellent results

Not for me.

I was bought a tin as a Christmas present by my husband as I'd been bombarded with the ads and like most people with chronic eczema I'll try anything!
I'm not really a fan, I'm afraid. The grainy texture is a bit grim, and although there are instructions on the website for melting it in a water bath etc I don't think that's what most consumers are expecting to have to do when they buy a product.
During normal use, it very quickly melts into an oil, so I can't get a big blob on my finger and take time dabbing it onto all my inflamed patches, as it melts into dripping oil within seconds.
I haven't noticed any improvement to my eczema after consistent use of this product, so sadly it hasn't worked for me.
The tin is a good size, it's a bit overpriced but there are usually offers available... However not worth the money in my opinion I'm afraid.
There are other similar "natural" products out there that have worked better for me and are a lot more pleasant to use.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We really appreciate you explaining your experience so clearly.
We’re sorry to hear that the texture and application didn’t suit you, and that you didn’t see the results you were hoping for. The Rescue Balm is formulated without stabilisers or fillers, which means its texture can vary and it is designed to melt on contact with the skin. For targeted areas, we generally recommend applying small amounts at a time, dabbing gently onto individual patches rather than taking a larger amount all at once, as this can help with control during application.

We understand your comments around pricing. Our products are priced to reflect the quality, concentration, and sourcing of the ingredients used — many of which are more commonly found in premium skincare and are not typically used in similar “natural” alternatives on the market. That said, we appreciate that value is personal and will differ from customer to customer.

As with all eczema-prone skin, responses can vary significantly, and while some customers see noticeable improvements, we understand that this won’t be the case for everyone. Your feedback is genuinely helpful and will be shared with our product team as we continue to refine both our formulations and guidance.

If you haven't already, please read the article below. Many find it just as helpful as the products themselves!
