ThunderDrive lifetime plan is offered through Stack Social. I bought a 1TB "lifetime" plan from Stack Social, then 2 years later I got an email stating that they were closing my plan as the servers in my country (Australia) were being moved to the U.S. I was offered to go onto a yearly plan that cost the same each year as the lifetime plan. No refund offered. This is too good to be true. It's a SCAM!!

This is a fraudulent organization. The site simply does like 10% of what they say it does. DO NOT BUY.

EDIT: the share feature does not work. 90% of the times the people i send the download link can not download the file (i'm talking about big files, 3-4gb). Also, when i try to upload those big files (yesterday it was a 2gb file) the upload arrives at like 99% and then stops (a red exclamation mark near the upload status). Literally i can not upload on my own drive, nor i can share links with others. That makes it useless for me. I've tried to contact your help desk, but still problems are there and no useful answer was given. In comparison, Google Drive works flawlessly all the time. I REPEAT: DO NOT BUY.

All my files are gone. After I log in, there is a message at the bottom that says, "Whoops something went wrong." Chat is live but says it will be hours before they respond. I should have read the reviews before I purchased. I had already uploaded several hundred GBs. (You get what you pay for)

UPDATE: Thunderdrive got back to me same day and wrote "This has been resolved." with no other information. I'm increasing my stars from 1 to 3 because of this. However, without an explanation or any assurance it won't happen again, I'm still worried. (If I lose my files in an unrecoverable way on T-bird after this I can't say I wasn't warned...)

I bought 2 TB space, and it was fast for upload in the beginning, but after few minutes it gets so slow that is is unusable. I uploaded maybe 2 GB to cloud. And today - I was trying to login after about one year, just to see if it is any faster. Unfortunately my files are not there. Everything is deleted. Scam!

Thunderdrive lifetime... For the lifetime of thunderdrive, which will be short, not your lifetime.

I have been using thunderdrive for more than a year now , the website links keep changing , but its due to domain changes ,
I am able to still login and upload / download files from app.thunderdrive.io
I still wish there is a easy way to sync files than manually uploading them
But what else can you expect for $59 and a lifetime storage !!

JUNK!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID!!! I purchased a 2TB lifetime subscription in September 2019. Began uploading files and discovered that adjusting the sort order did not work and I reported it; I received a response that they were able to duplicate the issue and it would be reported to development. I deleted everything that had uploaded so far and thought I would wait a few months to see if they ever fixed it (I wasn't holding my breath). I tried to login today to check it and forgot my password. None of the options for "Forgot Password" are working (they say an email has been sent to me with a link to reset it, but I have received no email after multiple attempts). I purchased this based on a raving review from iDrop News Store - I will never listen to their recommendations again!!

Hi, I am Allan and I am brazilian. I bought a 2TB lifetime plan on Dec/19. and it works fine so far. I have not used it that much but I have some files storaged there. It is not that bad as said in many comments here. I can access and open my files directly in the browser, even videos (also in picture-to-picture mode smoothly. So in short, so far so good. I wish it had an app version. That would be great.

By end of third quarter of 2019 they promised Mobile App option and also Windows App option (something like pDrive) but it never happened. THE COMPANY IS FULL CHEATER. I spend money for Lifetime subscription and I am not able to use it at all.

Do not purchase. I uploaded two years worth of videos and not a single one will play or even show a preview picture. Contacted tech support and they said my system must not support the program. Not true. Have tried multiple computers and new iPhone and still cannot access. They will not refund. Trying to report to the BBB, but I need a physical address which, of course, the company will not provide.

I purchased the 2TB plan a few weeks ago and I have to say "I'm really happy" - I haven't encountered the issues others have (fingers crossed). So far speed seems to be on par. UI looks great and is intuitive, And some of the link sharing features they offer are cost so much more with the other guys. I removed one star because of a technical issue regarding video playback which I'm sure they are working on.

Yes, there are bugs in the system ThunderDrive needs to work out, but I'm rooting for these guys! We definitely need more companies in the online digital storage scene to keep things competitive.

Scam. Broken promises, no support poor performance and lacking feature set.

I bought the "2TB lifetime account" through StackSocial nearly a year ago, with the expectation that iOS and Android apps, as well a desktop app or WEBDAV interface would be available.

They said they submitted apps to Google and Apple, but when I contacted Google and Apple (I am a registered developer with both, and have an account manager who is exceedingly helpful) they said they have NOT received any submissions for anything called "Thunderdrive".

They are liars and they will probably close shop tomorrow.

BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT BUY.

Edit: They replied to my review today, very odd reply asking me for an email to look into my problem - the service has no Android or iOS apps nor even a Desktop app or WEBDAV integration - you can't fix that with my email!

Edit2: Thunderdrive has now reported my review as spam, trying to have the truth removed. If you see this text it's because I jumped through Trustpilot's hoops and proved the above.

Uploaded another test folder for comparison of Degoo and ThunderDrive.
Folder content: 20 jpegs of total size 34MB.
Degoo took 17 seconds. ThunderDrive took 2 minutes and 13 seconds.
I don't think ThunderDrive will be able to improve their service fast enough to compete with any competitor anytime soon.

Beware that if you want to put some money down to try it out, don't do it with Paypal. Their "Buyer protection" is as much a scam as ThunderDrive itself and they will not refund you.

ThunderDrive itself has the usual issues with uploads not working, as others have pointed out. You may need some strong scripting skills to make it usable, but even then, it's uncertain.

I to purchased the lifetime cloud storage offer by ThunderDrive IO about a year ago. I hadn't used it until recent, which brought me to observing many disgruntled customers understandably. My initial user experience with ThunderDrive wasn't good at all. I found it to be definitely a " work in progress" if not a scam. I would upload files, sizes ranging between 100mb - 7GB would sometime finish incomplete or just wouldn't be there at all. I've attempted to contact them on the matters a couple days ago. I've yet to hear back. However, with all that said, after a few experimentations or maybe under the hood maintenances from ThunderDrive's ITs, so far I've managed to find a workflow and uploaded over a 100 gigs of files within 2 days without any of the prior issues. As of writing this, I would say speeds are fairly decent. To upload a 1gb file took me approx 10-11 mins. Downloads for a 1gb file were under a minute. My conclusion, it's definitely not Google Drive, but for the $60 I spent, if they were to maintain the current stability I've experienced over the past day or so, I'll call this cloud service "DOABLE" for the amount I paid.

Avoid them. Service is never avaialble and they do not answer your request. if you store files there kiss them good bye. They are even a tad worse thann zooz (another cloud review I posted)
basically you cannot retrieve your files once they are uploaded. you may get lucky and retrieve the smallest files. at the time of this writing the site is not even available. so, save your money.

So far the only worth considering (review soon!) are:

pcloud.com
both are really great.
keeping tabs on a welsh company, which seems good: icedrive. too early to review though

Update: my ticket NOT yet answered AFTER days but they tried to contact me here, how silly is that.site is back, still you only can retrieve one file each time, and only under 10 mb each. I rest my case, useless service and appalling service.
The irony? I cannot even delete my account as they don’t have the option to do so.

Very good service. Has backup and retrieval for cheap. I have not seen a service price this low. Hope they can sustain the business with more users.

Not 5 stars as: they are missing auto backup of photos from phones. (No phone apps or desktop apps). Their website keeps saying that the apps are coming next quarter (and then when the next quarter comes they just update the timeline to next quarter. This has been happening for past 3 quarters so seems fishy.

Bought lifetime storage. Now it doesn't even remember my email address. Complete scam.

I bought a "lifetime" membership for ThunderDrive Pro on iDrop News store; they sent me a redemption code, which I didn't use right away. The code expired, and when I reached out to iDrop, they referred me to ThunderDrive (thanks a lot). I've contacted them multiple times, and I get no response. So, now I'm out the money and have no online storage.
