AWS Buffering and Bad Connectivity

Within 24 Hours Rating: ⭐

As a CEO in the music consulting space, I signed up for TIDAL expecting a professional-grade high-fidelity experience. Instead, the service was completely non-functional. Tracks took 10+ minutes to buffer and constantly dropped out, making the service 'unfit for purpose.

Despite requesting a refund within 24 hours of purchase and proving that other services (like SoundCloud Go) work perfectly on the same network, TIDAL support refused to help, citing a rigid 'no refund' policy. They are essentially charging for a service they are failing to deliver. Avoid this platform if you actually need reliable playback.

The more they work on the app

The more they work on the app, which is constantly updated, the worst it gets.

The app wasn't great, but the feature they are adding right now makes it less user friendly & the constant updates are annoying.

Updates are not optional, by the way, so now, one of my laptop isn't even compatible with the newest version of the app anymore, even though said version automatically installed & replaced the previously compatible one. No way to download an old version of the app either on the site, so I just lost the ability to listen to music via Tidal on that laptop.

Great concept, not the best execution

Great concept, but as everything, if someone else already surpassed you, you won't succeed. Tons of songs are missing and importing from spotify around 15% of all songs are replaced with either random songs or remixes that aren't relevant to the source. The audio quality isn't near as good as on Spotify even when maxed out. Lacks so many songs and really isn't a good replacement. There's also no native Linux app so that's a negative (spotify being popular means there's multiple web apps to run)

I entered the free trial and canceled not even a week in and stopped using it entirely, because I've never met a service that was so bad not even the free trial was worth it.

There's a lot of improvement to be made, and I hope this will reach higher in the future so we can have a good music streaming service other than spotify

Deleted all playlists

Deleted all playlists for me and all of my family. When I contacted support, they simply ignored me: asked me to provide details but then nothing… just nothing. Worst support ever.

I really don’t like this app

I really don’t like this app. I’ve given it a try to move away from Spotify, but the interface to me is very confusing, songs and artists that I have saved on my favorites just don’t show up. Worse even, tidal only downloads tracks when you have the download cue open, and it fails to even download all songs. I’m just frustrated and will move back to Spotify beginning of the new year, I have it a try but it’s just not working for me at all.

Buggy and unstable app

Both the mobile and Mac apps are laggy and crash often. The downloads feature doesn't work on the mobile app, and it's been like this for >1 year. Sound quality is good, but slowness and the number of bugs make it barely usable. I'm now looking for other services to switch to.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs! Cancelled my subscription to them via Apple as the App and music available is poor in my opinion. Never used the App afterwards and had no communication from them since. Last month, I realised they’d been debiting my account still each month for the past 10 months. I only realised by looking at my bank statements and seeing their name on there. Contacted Tidal with proof of my cancellation and asked for a refund. Response is they will not as they say my account to them is still active despite the proof I’ve sent them. They agree I’ve cancelled via Apple subscription but say I didn’t cancel the account direct with them so the payments are justified in line with their terms and conditions. However, they can’t send me the evidence I’ve asked for by way of any direct account confirmation/ any sort of monthly billing details/ receipt/ any communication from them with respect to this account. Looking online it seems I’m not alone! Even one of their own responses to me says… “We completely understand how confusing this situation must be, and we truly appreciate your understanding.” Says it all! Please don’t be taken for a ride like I have been by them. Customer service is terrible. Asked for complaints contact several times and still not been given a contact. Avoid at all costs.

Commercially arrogant and not at all customer focused

Commercially arrogant not customer focused. Signed me up on free trial, I really didn’t notice until an alert / statement from PayPal, Tidal response to keep all the money. I used the service 3 times, music curations not as good as Spotify, Apple Music.
A real slap in the face after 30 years of B&O loyalty…

Vocalists and Writer

As independent artists, we invest heavily in our craft, distribution, and promotion. Platforms are supposed to be partners in that journey — not obstacles.

For several months, I’ve been locked out of my own official TIDAL artist page Martin X despite numerous support requests and escalation through my distributor. I have provided proof of identity, ISRC/UPC codes, and clear evidence of ownership. Yet the issue remains unresolved.

This kind of roadblock wastes valuable time, damages artist growth, and reflects poorly on the platform’s commitment to supporting creators. We deserve better.

I’m sharing this publicly not out of frustration alone, but because these issues are systemic. Too many artists are sidelined by poor infrastructure and lack of accountability from streaming platforms.

I call on @TIDAL and @TIDALforArtists not just for me, but for every independent artist relying on fair access to their own work.

Bad app and worse customer service

Bad app and worse customer service

Directory is an absolute mess with any artists with the same name being lumped together, customer service too lazy or incompetent to do anything about it, even supervisors, even when spoon fed links, screenshots and all the information i could possibly give them.

I wanted a more ethical platform than Spotify but tidal is useless and they’re not exactly saints either, I’ll try Qobuz next.

Repeated illegal charges

Repeated illegal charges – No reply to legal complaint Review:
I'm a disabled citizen from Israel. I deleted my TIDAL account on July 8, 2025 at 10:40 AM (Israel time), and hadn't used the app in over 2 years. Still, TIDAL continued charging my card.
I sent them a legal document, but they replied with a generic message (#2275562).
This is a human rights violation.
I won't stay silent.
You will feel this – as I have felt it.
