Got a gig tonight. Cheers. Amateurs

Got a gig tonight. Just found out they have decided to change their streaming charge to use with DJ equipment. Literally now have to do requests at a wedding through downloading on iTunes and importing. Just no thought given and no notice. Amateur. Won’t ever use again. What a way to kill a company.

Poor catalog, weak development department and a joke for DJs

Nice try but that's it. They try to position themselves as DJ streaming service and by 2024 also asking for extra fee but then 50% new records are missing and 80% of them are NOT extended version but 2 mins radio edits. So one could say someone at Tidal is in the wrong industry and has no clue what he is doing.
Beside of the poor catalog, the app whether it's mobile or desktop is constantly full of bugs. Around two years I get the same sorts of red warnings on completely different systems. Reddit is full of complains.
Again one could argue the workforce at Tidal is in the wrong industry. There is a lot more bad things to say but I save my time since I'm quite often losing time because of Tidal already...

Loving it….

Was a Spotify customer for years but was getting sick and tired of rising prices and their reluctance to roll out hifi streaming. Tried a free trial with Tidal and loved the improved quality. I then upgraded to Hifi plus not being sure if my old ears would be able to tell the difference but they definitely could. Then Tidal combined the two tiers at the lower price so now it’s cheaper than Spotify and a million times better. For me the best feature of Tidal is the daily discovery playlist. The algorithm they use is absolutely spot on and I’m discovering some great music. So I think Tidal is great value for money and I totally recommend it.

Offline mode is not working

Offline mode is not working. Every time i try to play online on one of my devices and all my other devices is in offline mode the playback on my offline devices stops. I have been in contact with tidal support for several month now and nothing has happend. They keep writing they are looking into the problem. But i'm convinced that they actually don't know what to do with the problem and just keep telling they are looking into the problem. I ask them to give me family package while they investigate this issue, but they refuse to do that. Very bad service when i still pay full fee for something they are not able to deliver. If you want to have the ability to use offline mode chose another HIFI streming provider.

Support artists by choosing Tidal

The biggest reason I choose Tidal is because it pays out 3 times as much to artists compared to Spotify, and it is much more supportive for smaller artists.

Other than that, it provides much higher quality streaming. That is only relevant for audiophiles however: eveyone else is fine with Tidal's so-called "Low (320 kbps)", which, by the way, is the same quality as Spotify's highest quality. (They should really call it 'Standard' or 'Balanced', instead of 'Low'.)

I am sad to see so many bad reviews here. I really get the impression some organization or business has 'ordered' tons of bad reviews to place Tidal in a bad light.

If you want to support artists, choose Tidal.

Terrible

Terrible. I cancelled my subscription but they continue to charge me for 6 months afterwards. I am still trying to get my refund but their customer service is shocking.

Crazy bad customer service

Crazy bad customer service. I bought a new HiFi system and was excited to try out tidal with high res streaming. Had an issue subscribing accidentally with my old Apple account in the iOS app annd got charged by Apple to my old card. I learned that I should have subscribed direct (saves 30% which is not advertised anywhere on the iOS app sign up process). I simply needed to cancel the old account with Apple and start a new one straight away. I was hoping they’d make the process easy - wow I was so wrong. Their attitude kind of blew my mind. Apart from being incredibly rigid and unhelpful they took a “this is all your fault” attitude and “you should have signed up direct in the first place”. It’s like they don’t want new customer

Better than Apple Music

I switched from Apple Music. All my songs, even the indiest indie titles, are available on TIDAL. Also, many of the songs are available in a higher quality (24 bit instead of 16) and the titles with the same quality sound better on TIDAL sometimes.

The apps are good; I use Mac, iPhone and Apple TV. Changelogs are quite funny. It seems there is an update every week (at least for Mac) – beat that, Apple. The UX feels better to me.

Yes, it is pricier, but worth it for me.

If anyone at TIDAL reads that: Please address the reviews. It looks not good if you ignore the reviews here. I am part of a marketing agency and we have someone that answers every review for our ecommerce websites. Take care of your image.

Not sure why so many bad reviews

Not sure why so many bad reviews. I personally haven't had any issues with the app on pc, android or Smart tv. It's expensive but you can see why when you try another streaming service. The audio quality is unrivalled. I wish Amazon music or spotify or whatever were as good because they're cheaper but they just aren't which is why I keep going back to Tidal. Besides £19.99 p/m or in otherwords £5 a week is nothing nowadays for the premium streaming service.

Bad customer service

Wanted to test them out so said there was a free trial . I clicked on payment as it said they would take payment after free trial but they took payment now . I messaged them and they said it was because I had a free trial over four years ago . Why don’t they explain this better I can’t remember four years ago. They should have said before payment that you have already had a free trial instead of just charging you .

The app for the iPhone is one of the worst I’ve used . It is really clunky and awkward. The sound quality for the top tier is terrible !! To charge £26 for it is unbelievable. I buy a lot of vinyl and cd , I also play it on a very good system . Tidal is extremely poor quality for the cost and I wouldn’t recommend it. Save your money and use any other service as it’s definitely more value for money.

Great sound, and the rest is garbage.

The sound quality is the ONLY reason I stay with Tidal. If Spotify finally has better sound one day- I'm gone the moment I see it. There are technical issues EVERY DAY with the Tidal app, and the tech guys just sent emails about once every three or four months over the course of literally a year telling me they were still "working on it." It was 150% b.s.

Tidal had a promotional trial where…

Tidal had a promotional trial where they claimed to have music I may have been interested in playing. I later learned that they did not have classic songs that were very popular in the 70’s. A Day later I contact their website and reach out to their customer service, waited for a response which was never answered, not to forget to mention they have no phone number available to contact anyone on their team. After numerous attempts to contact the customer service, finally received a response 3 weeks later and through emails I explained my issue and that I would like to cancel my free subscription, only to find I was billed for using the app. After a day to search for music that interest me.
Basically I feel I was scammed by Tidal.
And their no contact approach misleads you to keep you engaged with their promotion ,this way they are able to bill you for the service. Which I later found out when I received my monthly credit card bill.
Tidal is not as good as they claim they are
You’re better off with Spotify they are much more transparent and have a better customer service and much more music.
So be aware of sites like this where you have no idea who is running them.
I learned the hard way!
