Serious health concern + zero accountability. Avoid at all costs

I purchased a custom soundproofing panel (worth Rs12,300) from Timber Acoustics, which included Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) and rockwool, expecting it to be safe for indoor residential use. Within hours of installation, the panel emitted a strong vinyl/plastic smell that led to headaches, eye irritation, fatigue, and general discomfort.

I called their team (Dane Diaz) the first call was ignored, and when I did get through, the person I spoke with had no knowledge of the material's safety or VOC emissions, and promised to get back to me. It’s been over four days since, with no response to calls or messages. I’ve had to move the panel outdoors to my balcony due to the smell and physical symptoms it was causing.

The product may be effective acoustically, but it is absolutely not suitable for indoor use unless you know how to seal it airtight and allow it to off-gas for days — something they never disclosed. Their team also seems ill-informed and unresponsive when it comes to handling material safety concerns, which is frankly unacceptable.

Use extreme caution if you're planning to use their MLV-based products in bedrooms, home offices, or any closed room. The lack of transparency, post-sale support, and basic accountability is reason enough for me to advise others to think twice.
