Amazing that a company could be worse…

Amazing that a company could be worse at their job than Verizon. I have spent 3+ hours trying to fix a problem that Ting created (putting me on the wrong network where I have no reception) and have still not fixed anything. After the great reviews on Trustpilot I am surprised that their service would be so awful.

Update 14 days after original review: I still give them one star. I still do not have My phone working. As a workaround I got another thingTing account (had to be a third email address) and I am using my five year old iPhone 6 as a hotspot so that I can at least get calls through Google voice. Is there anyway to give half a star? They claim it is Google Voice’s fault.

Final update: it took over a month for TING to complete my port and get me back to my original number. Phone service is now decent on Verizon towers. But get this: TING HAS ASKED TRUSTPILOT TO MOVE MY REVIEW TO ANOTHER COMPANY as a way to kill off this one star review. Shameless.

Trash Service

The whole time I’ve had service with them was just ridiculous. I was constantly receiving multiple $5 charges on every bill because they said I was using data. I stay at home 24/7 I leave my house maybe once every two months, and I have fiber internet. So I never turn my data on. There’s no way I was using $15 worth of data every month. They told me they would set it up to where I can only use one gigabyte but that’s as a lie they only set up for me to be notified AFTER I used one gigabyte and go over to the next (which means another $5 charge). Which again my data doesn’t get turned on so I don’t know how this keeps happening. They don’t care about my wishes they just keep collecting their money.

My last straw was when I missed one payment ($18) by 5 days because I didn’t even notice to pay it I had a baby and was in the hospital with her after complications and they sent me an email saying they are sending me to collections over this one payment and that it will affect my credit. Absolutely ridiculous and money hungry company. Straight talk is worth the extra few dollars, atleast you will get good customer service with them. Literally don’t waste your time with these people.

My phone only works for scammers and…

My phone only works for scammers and telemarketers. Whenever family members call me, they can't connect. When I ty to call them, I can't connect either. It doesn't matter what state they're in. I have signal, I have wifi calling, and I've tried all of the normal fixes. I've had this same problem in the past while I was on call for work and missed calls. I hate paying for service that mostly benefits people trying to rip me off.

Can you please connect with us so we can aim to swap you to something else and have the annoyances stop. This is not consistent with most user experiences and something we want to resolve asap.

Happy

We have been Ting customers for many years and have had no problems. The service is very reliable and trouble-free. We have had very little reason to contact Ting customer service, but the two or three times we have, the service is top-notch.

I recently updated to the Flex plan on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

I recently updated to a different phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and upgraded to the Flex Plan. Ting provided me extraordinary customer service and walked me through the process in converting from two phones with two lines to one phone with a new service plan. Ting is, without a doubt, one of the best mobile phone services while providing the best value in their phone plans.

Penny wise and pound foolish

I've been with Ting for several years. The pricing is good and I have paid in full each month, but this is another company that is penny wise and pound foolish. They disconnected my phone service after being late for payment by one week and said the account would be sent to collections in 15 days. With so many financial institutions requiring 2-factor authentication via SMS code confirmation it becomes impossible to transfer funds if you need to do so in order to make the payment. Most stable companies don't shut off your phone service after being 7 days late and companies run by smart people don't lose longterm customers because they are a few days late making payment. Keep this in mind if you decide to use Ting, because you can easily end of stuck trying to access applications, funds, etc. and being blocked from doing anything financially related. The lower cost isn't worth the hassle.

Great pricing

Great pricing. Great service. Great phone selection. Great networks. Not much else to say. Been with them for over five years and no one can beat them on any level. Saving $70.00 a month minimum.

I'd give five stars, if we had better coverage. Not that your coverage is any worse than most around here - but I don't want to mislead that there are *no* issues. But that is really my only issue.

I love Ting mobile

I love Ting mobile. I have had no problem setting up any of my phones over the years. I have very good coverage and when I need help I get to speak to a real live person. That is a big plus. Their customer service has been courteous and efficient. And most importantly, my phone bill is not a horror show of outrageous charges. It is all very straightforward- I pay for what I use and nothing else. These guys are a keeper.

Ting has been exceptional

Ting has been exceptional! Especially at the beginning when setting up our phones for WiFi calling was not going smoothly. Customer support persisted giving hours of time to solve the problem.
We have 3 phones and 2 plans since fall of 2021 and the service has been flawless! Kudos to Ting and their support staff. I highly recommend Ting.
