Honest Opinion
Here is an honest opinion from a former staff member at ToGym.
The Gym space -
This is a small private gym that is rarely busy. It is perfect for locals or those who have a busy work schedule, you won’t have to wait for machines or equipment which saves you time.
The Members -
Almost all of the members are friendly and outgoing. You can make friends easily and it’s a pleasant environment. Majority of members are not that advanced so it’s perfect for newcomers.
Staff (Minus Management) -
Staff members are extremely friendly and helpful however, I would NOT recommend anyone to work here. You are overworked and the pay is not worth it.
Staff (Management) -
After signing a contract, management change rules and procedures (breach of contract). You are treated like a slave, management doesn’t care about your life and priorities outside of the gym. If you can’t cover last minute shifts then they attempt to manipulate you into taking it.
Not only are you underpaid, you are paid late almost every month so if you have direct debits and other bills, this could negatively affect your credit score. If you don’t write down your shifts and hours they will attempt to get away with stealing some of your wages. At the end of the day this is their business, and that is all they care about.
