This car wash is great!!!! I get the "works' package and run my car through their wash system on a regular basis (several times per week). Personnel are ALWAYS cheerful and very nice every time. It is a real joy to visit their facility on Roe Avenue in Overland Park, KS. If I had to gripe at all, on rare occasions the wash cycle gets out-of-sync and I get a wash other than the "works", but I just run it through again to get the wash for which I paid. Their System REALLY does do a good job. What do some of these people expect who have experienced Tommy's....I mean for an automatic car wash I think it does fantastic!!! You can't expect the Moon.

Just went through the car wash on John Young Pkwy, the car in front of me just before exiting the car wash had his brake lights on and my truck came close to hitting his car before he released his brakes to move on, be aware of the vehicle in front of you, something I never thought that could happen 😑 Freaked me out a bit....

I moved down the street from one located in Grandville, and was extremely excited about it being so close! Plus they offer a few different monthly membership plans which also allows you to drive up to one of the two express lanes instead of waiting in the long line for “pay as you go”!

However, I’m a stickler for reading reviews BEFORE committing! I’ll be honest…based on the Reviews I was very discouraged and was going to look else where, but was stuck on how close this company was to me compared to others.
I decided to use the “pay as you go” for a few washes, and see if the monthly membership would benefit me or not. After a few visits and weighing in on the pros and cons… I ended up enrolling into a monthly membership. This is my first review since enrolling a few years ago!!!! Most of the previous reviewer’s (good & bad) are correct!!

For me personally it’s still worth it overall!
Location is three minutes away, two express lanes= shorter wait time, free vacuums, & rug cleaner. With the monthly membership “if” the wash didn’t clean my vehicle good enough I just got back in line once or twice more… because I pay monthly which allows UNLIMITED VISITS!! If I was limited… I definitely would NOT have gotten the membership!! Yes it’s a bit frustrating the wash didn’t clean my vehicle the first time, and now causing me to take more time out of my busy schedule that I don’t really have… to wait in line again and go back through, BUT I need my vehicle washed!
(Which I’ve already juggled my busy schedule for that particular day) Most of the time this happens I’ve noticed it wasn’t as soapy as usual. Other times… not enough soap & the water is too cold. If you don’t have enough soap and then you’re using ice cold water you’re basically just getting your car wet😑🫤 (aka having your pre-teen wash your vehicle in driveway 🙄 yes, sweetie you need soap to “wash” the vehicle first and then spray it off with the hose😏)
-The plans are a bit pricey, but I think it averages out all together for both Tommy’s Express and myself! I can only imagine what it may cost them for me going back through a few times! Although if it was washed the first time correctly then it wouldn’t be necessary having to go back through!
-For the last ENTIRE winter the mat cleaner was not in service!!! I’m not sure if they were open during previous winters, but I didn’t need it then like I needed it last winter!! So as soon as they were opened up and I got a wash I also ran my mat’s through twice…😬not wanting to do more than that because other people were waiting for a turn as well. If they close them purposely for winter due to the salt possibly clogging the machine or because the machine can’t function during such cold temperatures…🤔(we are a northern state 🙃)
then I really hope they can fix/remedy the issue maybe by building an enclosure for the mat cleaner machines, and if need be redesign the machines for a better clean/light dry as well!!
-The vacuum’s are just as horrible as previously reviewed by others lol
I’ve literally backed into and pulled forward to SEVERAL different vacuum’s on a visit, and on more than one occasion to find one that actually worked instead of just making noise! I’m going with horrible design which poorly allows for them to be clogged fairly easy!!! (because most car washes that have been in business awhile know they’ll have some customers who will choose to suck up ALL the trash in their vehicle…..including trash not meant for vacuum’s in general 🙄😳😬 instead of throw it away😣 they have better equipped vacuums!!)
I honestly got tired of playing “ring around the vacuum’s” just to find one that’ll suck up light dirt & sand from my kids that I just use the shop vac when I get home.
Overall this place may not be top rated, but it does have great potential!! I’ll continue to support them because of it’s potential and it’s not half bad…at least everything works half of the time😬🤭😉

I took my Toyota tundra through the car wash and it took off my antenna. Apparently the older Toyota tundras are notorious for this problem. The young man that works the front booth and Dwayne have been exceptionally helpful, kind and professional. They both got right on it and ordered a antenna and Im now waiting to have it put on. The customer service has gone above and beyond my expectations. These two men need to be recognized for their exceptional customer service and kindness.

I loved going to the location in Fargo when it was custom express car wash. I’ve gone twice now since it changed to Tommy’s and I’ve been disappointed both times. They didn’t spray well enough prior to going through and almost none of the bugs on my front bumper came off, even though I paid for the most expensive level car wash. The second time there was nobody even there to spray down prior to going through or guide me onto the track. They will no longer be receiving my money!

I took my jeep through the car wash around April 22, 2022 and I heard a crack and I wondered what the noise was. I ended up going over to the vacuums to vacuum the back of my vehicle out and I saw that water had leaked through the back windows, the carpet and water had even ran into my back speakers which messed up my wiring later on. I did a quick walk around to see what else was messed up and I saw I had a crack in my tail light assembly which has soap in it so I got a manager and filed a report. I got a call about a week after the incident and i was told he'd have to investigate further and so far I haven't heard anything back. I would never recommend this car wash to anyone because they wont compensate for any damages that happen to your vehicle.

I like this car wash. Its not so much the car wash itself but the curtious and polite young lady that works there by the name of Annebell. She was a very genuine and sweet young lady. She makes going to this car wash very pleasant. THANK YOU ANNEBELL!!

Took my car for a wash and it came out with scratches some pretty deep. We called and did a report the manager says they won’t do anything. I used to love going here now I’m not going to go back again. I am super frustrated they won’t fix the scratches even though they were able to check the video and there weren’t scratches when I was waiting to get in the wash but after the wash they show up.

Took my perfectly nice Yukon through Tommy's for a wash. As I drove through, the cover off the driver side mirror was literally ripped off the vehicle. The mirror has lights and other features, so now there are wires dangling. Tommy's filed an incident report. They called me today to inform me that they will not cover any of the damage. None. At all. They'll give me free washes. No thanks! Why would I want to take my vehicle through that again???? To see if any other pieces could be ripped off and they could not cover any of the additional damages? I'll pass.
Over the last several years I've taken my Yukon through nearly every other wash in town and never had any damage. I'd recommend ANY of them over Tommy's.

Wow! Amazed! I have a monthly plan with a local competitor, carwash. I decided to try Tommy's Express on 2/15/22. Expecting the usual express car wash. In and out. Accepting the fact that not all the dirty snow would be removed from under my Lincoln SUV.

My first interaction was with Ken, a very professional gentleman that was informative and welcoming. Then came the carwash. What a thorough job Tommy's Express Carwash executed. A conveyor that moves your car while parked (Not Neutral) through many stations within the assembly line. The following stations are available when moving though. Body Wax®, Tire Gloss, Red Hot Cleanser, Rainbow Coat®, 3-Step Wheel Cleaning, Tommy Guard® and Underbody Flush. I do not know what all those registered trademarked names are, but I do know that the car is thoroughly washed from roof to tire as well as being done quickly.

My car came out spotless with very few drops of water left. The handy vacuums were powerful and individual for each station. A vacuum tube on both the driver and passenger side to for easy maneuverability while vacuuming. It gets the job done quick, fast and in a hurry. Finally, there are receptacles for trash. The vacuum stations are exceptionally clean and maintained.
Granted this is their first day of business and I didn't see any glitches. I called Tommy's and spoke to the manager Mike about the 1st class service I had just received.
For a limited time, they are giving every vehicle a free "The Works" wash and Ken mentioned something about an app for the smart phone and they will give you a 30-day unlimited wash pass. I am not sure which wash is given free. Go in for your free "The Works" wash and they will explain their services.
I will be leaving my current carwash on the 26th of the month before my next monthly charges are processed. Tommy's Express has a new monthly membership customer.

At first it was a great deal, they offered a great discount for first responders!! I live at minimum 40mins away from the closest car wash. I signed up regardless. The management could not get the discount under control, I was always charged a normal rate, had to call back every month when my account was over charged. It would get fixed. Then I’d turn around again and be over charged and have to call again. Now they decide to raise their rates, but couldn’t get the discount figured out at any point!!!!! When I said I wanted to just cancel, because no way am I going to pay more for a company car wash that can’t even get their stuff under control, I wasn’t even offered to speak to another person! Mind you this was 3 days later after I called for the 4th time. I was promised the first month free, didn’t get that either. If I could give zero stars I would! Won’t be back!

The automatic app does not work and thier cameras to detect your license plate are always in need of adjustments. I canceld my subscription and will not be back!

The ownership and management of this car wash is denying anybody especially disabled combat veterans that are in wheelchairs refusal of service. There are no signs to refuse service but they Still do so. As a disabled combat veteran myself I was treated really bad and I reached out to the executive and owner specifically at this location. Yes I agree that the owner has a son who served in the Military but with my experience with him he only supported his son and no one else. Here is a response after I reached out to the executives on why I'm being denied service.

LEAVES RESIDUE ON WINDOWS/WINDSHIELD that won’t come off. I have been going to the east bay location for about 10 months first in a 2019 Jetta which I replaced the windshield twice with safelite thinking it was bad glass. I just purchased a brand new Alfa Romeo and within 2 weeks the windshield and windows have this residue. Glass cleaner will not remove it. After searching I saw that various forums mentioned that drive through car wash can leave this chemical wax or sealant on the windshield. In normal conditions you will not notice but at night with the right humidity and temperature it is almost impossible to see out. This company could be looking at lawsuits if this caused someone to crash their vehicle. I chose the works so I’m unsure about the other washes but if you are noticing what I’m talking about then you now understand the problem. Below I will attach pictures of both vehicles.
I’m expecting the same generic response from the owner/manager as you can read below on other complaints. They clearly do not take problems seriously. The first two pics are from my brand new 10 day old car, the last are various pics from my previous car.

I tried tommy car wash for the first and last time. It bent my front license plate. If you have anxiety this car wash is not for you.

Horrible customer service. I agreed to a promotion for unlimited car washes. Most companies are professional and courteous enough to send you a reminder when they are about to take your money. Not this place.
I woke up to a charge and tried to cancel through the app, as instructed. Conveniently my car wasn't listed so had to contact customer service.
After confirmation it was canceled I was told I had to contact the general manager to request a refund. He refused.
My life like so many, hectic. We rely on reputable businesses to do the right thing and let their customers know when they are going to be charging them. I really feel their practices are shady and would advise you use someone else

Worst car wash!!! Went there with my Tahoe and it severely damaged my rear wiper. Went back after I found it at home and made a claim. It was denied because according to them, my washer blade wash sticking out and not tight to my vehicle. Funny-it never was damaged at any other car wash! Will NEVER go there again!!!! Beware!

If spending a couple of hours to wash and wax your car is your idea of fun, go ahead. I can work an extra hour this month and wash and wax my car as many times as I like. I'm a die-hard fan of Tommy's and love the way our car looks thanks to the great cleaning and coating that the auto washes provide. The staff are always watching and helping, and they make sure that cars with rear-window wipers get protected before going through there auto lanes. Think about the value of your time and then think twice about hand washing your car.
