I had been dreaming of studying at the Toolroom Academy since its inception in 2015 and in 2023 that dream became a reality when I was accepted into the Production Masterclass. Getting to study under Dean and Pete was just amazing. They are both so knowledgeable and just overall great guys. Working with Dean and Pete helped me develop as an artist and took my productions to the next level with advanced production techniques and improved workflow; it completely changed how I approach making a new track. And with the A&R sessions with Pete, gave me beneficial insights into the industry and also drastically improved my songwriting and how I look at and breakdown a track from another perspective. Lastly the on going support you get from the Toolroom Academy is second to none; you do feel like you're part of a community and as they say the Toolroom Family.
I highly recommend the Toolroom Academy to anyone interested in getting into music production and/or making a career out of it.

Following the guidance and feedback of Dean and Pete has taught me a lot of new techniques to producing house music. I highly recommend this class to producers of all levels of experience

When I started this course I was only 2 months into production so it was a huge help as I was only picking up things from online and trial & error at the time. Pete and Ben do a fantastic job taking you through a 12 week journey explaining how a write a song from its creative idea to a full arranged track with mixing/mastering tips. There was so much to take away from that I now either incorporate or think about when I’m creating a track. This also isn’t a course where you’re awarded for just making it week by week, Pete and Ben truly dive into your tracks and explain what’s going well, what’s not working, what needs refining and what to plan for on the following session. You can truly see they care about musical production and their passion for it shows in their feedback videos. If you’re in the fence about signing up or joining, I’d say go for it, it’s well worth the investment. Not only did I learn so much but I left more inspired as you listen to everyone’s completed tracks on the last week of the course. You realize there’s a lot of talent working alongside with you. It has pushed me to work on music everyday even if it’s just 30 minutes and I even went ok to purchase an on-demand course of theirs. These guys know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about. Highly recommend. I will most likely be signing up for their Creativity Unlocked in the near future.

I took the Production Certificate this past summer and i can honestly say that 5 stars truly is not enough. Prior to taking this course I had Dj'ed for a few years but always thought that production seemed rather daunting. I had absolutely no experience and did not know what I was doing. Throughout the duration of this course, Ben and Pete took us step by step in how to create a record the right way. I went from not even knowing how to properly create an 8 bar loop to arranging a full track myself that I am proud of. Even if you are already an experienced producer, I would highly recommend the course. Working for 12 straight weeks on 1 single track will give you the discipline and skills to really take your productions to the next level. Besides just the lessons, the weekly feedback that you receive is beyond helpful. When listening to your track over and over again there's nothing better than having a pair of fresh ears critique what you have done. There were so many things that I did not see that Pete and Ben were easily able to point out, and then demonstrate techniques. showing how they would improve the particular area that I was working on. I'm truly grateful for the experience and cannot wait to work with the Toolroom Academy again!

The Toolroom Academy Production certificate course was really an amazing experience in music production. The course is very well structured and organized with weekly assignments followed by weekly feedback to help you make progress on your track every week. All the lessons are "recorded to the cloud" so if you are not able to be on during the live session, you can always watch them back at your convenience. Ben and Pete make a great team to teach the course as well as some special cameo appearances for other folks at Toolroom on occasion to keep it exciting! What I found really useful is how well everything is explained. They can take some complicated topics like compression, EG, and mix downs and explain them in a very simple way that makes them easy to comprehend. The best way to learn something is to learn from people who are doing it at a much higher level than you and these guys will definitely make you a much better and more confident music producer by the end of 12 weeks!

My biggest takeaway was that this course taught me a workflow I'm comfortable with that's entirely repeatable. I have already implemented it into my approach and it's helped me stay organized and given me more direction when I was a bit more sporadic with my approach before.

You really get out what you put into this, so I highly recommend taking advantage of the incredibly valuable weekly feedbacks by working on your track between each session. My thinking was I could always go back and re watch the lesson recordings at any point, but you only get so many feedback sessions and those are really where I felt like I learned the most throughout the class.

Have already recommended this to friends and would do the same to anyone who is serious about improving and dedicating themselves to this for 3 months.

I really can't say enough positive things about my experience with the Toolroom Academy!

Having dabbled in electronic music production a while back, I got back into production during the pandemic. Since then I've invested a lot of time and money into other online courses, buying plugins, analog gear etc. But it none of this has resulted in me having tracks signed to my target labels. I wanted to give the Toolroom course as a last roll of the dice.

My advice is to stop spending money on plugins, stop buying analog gear and stop watching / paying for other online courses. It's a waste of money until you learn and understand the basic fundamentals of music production. Instead spend your money on the Toolroom course.

The way the course is designed turns everything on its head and goes back to basics. The programme has had so much thought put into it and the structure is really, really clever. You finish the 12 weeks with a clear direction of how to make and finish tracks that are in line with your defined sound.

Ben and Pete are both absolutely brilliant teachers. The way they explain things is super easy to follow along with, and most importantly efficient. And most importantly they both love what they're doing, are super passionate and really want to help their students get the most out of the course. And they're both a lot of fun, there's lots of laughing and a great all round vibe!

Having the regular feedback from both an A&R and production perspective is something that makes this course unique and extremely effective. The weekly feedback videos are invaluable in helping you progress.

To be honest when I signed up I thought the course was expensive, but by the end I thought it was a bargain compared to other courses. The ROI is way higher than anything else I've ever done.

I now have a new sound and artistic identity and feel I know how to move forward with my production journey.

This course was perfect for my level of understanding. Ben and Pete are very patient and thorough in explaining each technique or concept. I came a long way in the 12 weeks and still working on all that I have learned. I feel it was exactly what I was looking for and needed for my production journey. I had been working on music for quite some time & honestly, I wasn't getting anywhere with my music. I was lucky enough to come across Toolroom Academy & joining it was probably my best decision ever. This course is designed in a unique way that you'll see results in your production & definitely evolve as a producer. The biggest thing that I achieved through this course was finding my true identity as an artist. Now every time I work on a new track I know which sounds I have to pick for my signature sound. It also makes you adopt a new way of working on music that simplifies your process. I highly recommend this course to anyone who's struggling with their music & having difficulties finding their sound. Stop wasting time & join this course & get to work!
