I’m done with Torbox. When I signed up for their Pro plan (which cost me over $60 for just a few months), one of the key features was their Usenet search. Their website even claimed they had access to “all the best Usenet indexers,” and honestly, it worked well at first.

But then, without warning, they removed the feature entirely. Now, if you want to actually find files on Usenet, you’re forced to pay for external indexers like NZB Geek. What’s the point of offering Usenet downloads if they strip away the ability to search for files? It’s like selling a phone and then removing the ability to make calls.

When I raised this issue in the Torbox subreddit, I was instantly banned. Their excuse? I was making “false claims” and “harming their reputation.” False claims? They literally removed a feature I paid for. That’s not false—it’s a fact.

Their response was that the Usenet search is still available through their “API.” Great, except I’m not a developer. I don’t know how to use an API, and I shouldn’t have to. That’s not a solution—it’s a slap in the face.

Instead of addressing legitimate complaints, they’ve focused on silencing users. And honestly, even without this mess, Torbox is mediocre at best compared to the competition.

If you’re thinking about using Torbox, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This whole experience has been a complete letdown, and I won’t be giving them another cent.

I chose Torbox for Usenet but after three months I can confidently say it is not worth the $10 per month. It does not support NTTP, and after asking multiple times, it seems that this feature will never be implemented. Additionally, downloading from file hosts has been rather frustrating. Many file hosts frequently fail to work, and after speaking with support, I received excuses each time for the issues, while it works perfectly fine through another debrid service. Furthermore, Usenet has been unavailable multiple times for several days, which has made the experience even more disappointing. Usenet also takes a long time to process downloads, with wait times varying from 15 minutes to 10 hours. I went back to Easynews for NTTP support.

The debrid service has been quite disappointing. Since it resumed operations in December, there have been numerous unscheduled outages. For instance, last Saturday, the service was completely non-functional, and the reason remains unclear. Additionally, the streams frequently buffer or don't work at all, and when this issue is raised in their Discord, the only suggestion is to install a VPN. In contrast, services like EasyDebrid and RealDebrid don't have these problems. I highly recommend considering those alternatives, as they also offer a larger selection of cached files, which can save you a lot of frustration.

Not worth it. While this service has the best user interface among debrid and torrent services, it falls short in nearly every other aspect. There are no refunds, even in cases where they mistakenly charge you twice. Torrents that aren’t extremely popular aren’t cached and take a long time to become available for download. Major hosters like Nitroflare are missing, and the standard plan only allows for one download per day—despite being a paid service. Competing debrid services offer significantly better caching, support for more hosters, and overall better performance, all at the same price. The only real advantage here is the UI.

Update: Funny how they claim to offer refunds in their reply, but their actual support email says otherwise. I was told no refunds are given under any circumstances, even if they overcharge you. Also, their response here was written by an AI, not a real support agent. Be careful before paying for this service.

well what can i say the torbox is a good tool for people needing a backup downloader.. i use this every single day and it just works like a charm thanks torbox and i hope to see you stay for a long long time thanks for everything

Your service has been down for several days. Never again

gave it a try not sure what the hell its good for YET looks like a lot of integration in on the way but that doesn't help me now. maybe I will revisit down the road . but debrid and orion or torrentio with syncler and stremio is good for me current torbox helps this setup nil.

When it's working it is great, but unfortunately it is very unreliable. Most torrents that I add are already cached - which is great, at least in theory. Larger torrents always return an error message "There was an error retrieving the file. Please try again later."
But now matter how often I tried, I always get this message.

If you are looking for a torrent service, I would suggest to wait a little bit longer, maybe Torbox will become more reliable in the future.

In the current state I would suggest that you use another service.

I bought the Pro version for three month. The payment went through, but only the support could activate my Pro account. The automatic approval did not work either.

Not sure what all the negative views are about but my experience has been really smooth so far with it (despite the issue with paying through pateron and had to contact support) but media has been great so far while using it through stremio.

More and more disappointing, they said it was because of the new arrivals, but nothing is done to improve the service despite the increase in their income. I really regret having taken this service, I do not recommend it at all and I will leave as soon as my subscription ends. They are thieves who do not listen to their community.

Awful service, claims that there are thousands of hosters and Torbox "can support almost all of them", turns out they only support the worst, least used hosters, rendering the subscription useless, and their excuse for lack of hoster support is as good as being "due to price, reliability or us simply disliking them"... really? What about the customers? Sick of this scamming bs, my own fault for not doing proper research, there is always a reason not to bother

OK to good streaming service but debrid feature has been unusable so far.

Edit: Still horrible experience with web dl's. Even when it seems like it's working, it's either stuck downloading or processing.
Second Edit: Still broken. And to those not understanding what the 1 star reviews are, I suggest them taking a look at the feature list. Streaming is only a part of the deal.

Really can recommend Torbox, their staff works very hard despite they only have a small team. Their support is very good and they listen to their users.

staff members aren't nice and acts rude towards their members they dont have paypal and put a few countries on their fraud list while they are a fraud service the owner didnt care when i showed proofs closed the ticket worst service do not buy from them they have bad servers and small cache.

The team at Torbox have done an amazing job improving the service, Yes they started off quite shaky after the influx of new users and commissioning new hardware, But have been working tirelessly to get things under control. The progress they have made in such a short time is fantastic, and although still not perfect, I have absolute confidence that they will get there very soon. 4 stars for service, and a big 5 stars for the vision and effort.

This service is unfortunately not good in its current state. I cannot recommend anyone spend their money on this service when you receive very minimal support, false advertising, slow speeds, and a terrible service in comparison to competition that it was supposed to beat. Torbox did a lot of advertising when Real Debrid made changes, and Torbox advertised itself as a competitor. It is not that nor is it anywhere close yet.

Torbox is a new debrid service. They're trying their best, everyone that's part of the team including the discord mods are trying their best so please cut them some slack. They are new and upcoming, give them some time and you won't be disappointed. The service is cheap and the creator himself suggested you can share with friends and family ( not that I personally am) but what else could you ask for from a debrid service, they're just like us!

Playback stops suddenly without reason, even on cached torrents. Also i can't download links from filehosts, even from the same service (my download manager (writes resource change all the time). Hopefully i buy only one month, and of couse this will be and the last! AVOID THIS SERVICE!!!
