Warning: phone scam like booking call - refund refused
I paid a deposit to Total Trip Planners LLC on Feb 4, 2026 after being asked to pay during a phone call.
The next day, after I received written confirmation from the event organizer that this company is not affiliated with the event or its official booking, I requested a refund. The company refused and pointed to cancellation terms shown on a form.
I have a recording of the payment call, and the agent did not clearly disclose that the deposit was non-refundable or explain the cancellation penalties before taking payment. The policy on the form was presented as a long paragraph without an explicit “non-refundable” acknowledgment step (no checkbox/initials).
During the call, the way the service was described gave me the impression there was an official connection to a large industry event’s exhibitor booking process.
In my opinion, this had the hallmarks of a phone scam/deceptive sales tactic. Based on my experience, I recommend avoiding this company.
