YOU CAN'T LOSE AND YOU CAN HELP KEEP YOUR HIGH ST OPEN
I've been using this card since it's launch and have covered the cost of the card at least 10 times over. It really is the best card I have in my purse amongst all the other loyalty etc cards. I find it really useful when trying to shop locally and/or on a budget and it means being able to have that starter or a pud or buying a better £5 Secret Santa gift. My favourite places to use it in Hailsham are Callenders, Maybugs, John's and Occasions and will certainly try it elsewhere as the need arises. I like to support local small businesses and being on the list knowing that they can't always compete with the bulk buying of large supermarkets certainly encourages people to use them if they are on the big list of discount friendly stores and eateries. It's this or lots of empty local shops again.

It took ages to load the app
It took ages to load the app. After an email to 1066 card they told me app had been updated !! When I went to use the card for the first time, I was told by the tourist attraction which was listed. That they had never heard heard of the card !! Never risked the embarrassment again. So never used it again !! £10 wasted !!

Sorry to hear that you were denied a discount at a Tourist Attraction. If you could tell me where it was I will call them and get it sorted. New members of staff are often the weak link in getting the discount that has been agreed.
With regard to the app, I did explain the 1066 Local app was in Beta and that www.1066card.com should be used in our previous email correspondence. There are 100s of businesses participating so I would encourage you to use the website and give it a couple more tries. I actively ask for Trustpilot reviews to get feedback from the people who use the card. If a business is not honouring their offer they will be removed. I hope you will try the card again (Visit the shops Queens Arcade or The True Crime Museum in Hastings). The whole point of the card is to discover great family businesses. I look forward to hearing from you.

We found this card difficult to use, most of the places who said they take it wouldnt. What we found amazing one of the information centres who promoted this card, did not even take it for sales in their shop.

Thank you for your Trustpilot review. I wish more people were like you and shared their opinions.
Tourist Information offices are not willing to offer discounts on their products. Most are there on a sale or return basis. It is not listed on my website as a discount. They do offer discounts on the Rye Audio Trail and the West & East Hill Lifts in Hastings.
You have stated most businesses (there are 100s) would not accept the card. So I can can remove businesses that are not honouring the discounts I have agreed with them please could you name them in a reply to hello@towncitycards.com. I would also ask if it was 100% failure rate or if you discovered some unique independent places & got a discount?
I apologise for the frustrations you have experienced. I look forward to acting on your reply and providing a refund if you did not save any money with the card. Thank you.

Really great initiative that's helped me help independent shops!
These cards are a really great initiative, and have introduced me to loads of independent shops that I didn't know about. I think I must walk around with my eyes closed sometimes! I also picked up some of these cards to offer to volunteers and carers that work for/with the charity I work for, and they have been a lovely reward/incentive for our supporters. Keep it up. Thanks very much!
