This is experience about fear,trauma…

This is experience about fear, trauma and finding the courage to move forward. We were recently involved in a traumatic vehicular accident when another car ran a red light and collided with our vehicle. This incident has a lasting effect on us.To regain a little bit of confidence and a sense of security we lost, we decided and chose to purchase the 2026 Toyota RAV 4 XSE Hybrid -our dream car. This isnt simply a big car it represents fresh start,it represents our desire to feel safer and to slowly overcome the fear that the accident left behind. We chose Toyota because of its reputation for reliabilty and safety. Its modern safety features will not make us immune to accidents but gives us a little more peace of mind when we begin getting back on road. One week before our planned trip to Montreal, more than 900km from New Brunswick,my husband brought the vehicle to TOYOTA ACADIA Moncton New Brunswick for servicing. On our way back to Moncton NB,we stopped for a break. As soon as we got out of the car,we were alarmed to see smoke coming from the tires and hood.As we opened the hood we discovered that the engine cap was completely unsecured and it was turned up side down.Extensive oil leaked throughout the engine, underneath the car up to the trunk door. This is a serious fire risk. This Hybrid vehicle completely equipped with safety features failed to give us signal that something wrong has been going on.We discussed this incident to the dealership and they called early morning apologizing saying the one who did the work is an apprentice.Initially they claimed that they topped up the oil and cap came loose which later popped out then suddenly they changed their story, now they denied that they touch the engine cap and their was no oil change or oil top up that happened.Regardless of their claim,if the vehicle was properly inspected and serviced why was the engine cap left loose and unsecured? Why would the dealership entrust servicing of a newly top tier car to an apprentice without supervison to ensure that everything was done right and proper? We insisted to watch the CCTV footage but they refused.Another serious concern is why this HYBRID Toyota vehicle failed to give warning or any signal in the dashboard that something serious is going on.The extensive oil leak, contamination of the engine area and smoke. We can not help but to question that from the beginning we received a defective vehicle? The Service Manager describes the incident simply as human error saying that everyone makes mistakes. But how can an error involving safety be dismissed so easily when peoples lives at stake? This is clearly grave negligence. We wanted to return the car so he referred us to his General Manager responded by pointing out that our vehicle was under financing and said"Its not even you car."We felt deeply insulted, dismissed and disrespected by this response. He directly said that they do not accept returns, instead he offered to appraise the car which resulted loss of more than 20k for this 2 month old brand new car.We felt devastated. We entrusted our car at Toyota Acadia New Brunswick for servicing and we are not simply entrusting the car,we were trusting our safety and our lives. The trust is completely gone.We feel traumatized. They do not want to accept returns and now we are left as though we are expected to simply accept, cope and deal with the consequences of their service failure.I am A Nurse,I run and respond to Code Blue emergencies,I help save peoples lives.Life is precious and Safety can not be taken lightly. We bought this car to protect us and give us peace of mind on the road. After what happened,we are now terrified that this vehicle could put our lives at risk. Please help us with this, to anyone kind enough to read our story,we are desperately asking for guidance. If you know a consumer agency, legal organization or any bureau to help us through this kindly give us the right direction. To Toyota Canada, please take our situation seriously. We do not want to live in fear and uncertaintly that this experience has caused us.We trusted your brand and this vehicle for safety and reliability. This HYBRID 2026 Toyoyta RAV 4 has lost its reliability the moment it was touched by the Service Department in Toyota Acadia. What realy happened inside the Toyota Service Department? To this day,we still have no clear answers. We believe the CCTV footage could help clarify what happened and provide transparency. Please investigate this.

Very decpt

When I purchased my vehicle, the snuck in all kinds of maintenance plans Gap Insurance and everything to the tone of $5000 now Toyota in Venice Venice Toyota will not return half of my money. They owe me $2400 and they refuse to refund it even though I have the right to cancel my extended car plans and everything else if you buy a car from Venice Toyota make sure you read the paperwork really clearly take it home. If you have to don’t get stuck like I did you’re definitely regret it.

Hi Debra - Thanks for sharing your experience. You have chosen to rate Toyota Denmark, not a Toyota dealer in Erdington, but the brand office in Denmark.

So we are not able to help you and the dealer in Erdington will not get your feedback.

Kind regards

Toyota Denmark.

Toyota Vejhjælp nightmare

Our car broke down on the highway - 330 km away from home on a Friday evening at 7 pm. We waited 4 hours to get Toyota Vejhjælp (Toyota Roadside assistance). Toyota said that they cannot drive our car to the service closer to our home in Aarhus so they dropped it at the closest car workshop in Maribo. We waited for some news the entire weekend and nothing. We called Toyota on Tuesday to ask for help to get home. Only then, they arranged a rental. Now, 2 weeks later the workshop have not even had time to look at our car! On Toyota Vejhjælp webpage, it says that they will deliver our car home if the workshop has not fixed the car within 5 work days. Toyota denies such service. When we call Toyota, they even told us that we are the ones who decided not to drive our car to a workshop closer to our home! We are 330 km away from our car, and Via Biler in Egå were ready to repair our car the next day! Now we are stuck without any information about our car 2 weeks later. This is unbelievable! We have been in contact with Toyota Denmark who transferred our call to “hybrid battery department” but they never picked up the phone. We have called the retailer and we visited them last week. They said they can fix our car by August 18, but after 2 hours at the workshop they promised to fix it today - Aug 10. After 10 years with Toyota, this is the first time we are shocked.

Hi

We will investigate this and contact the retailer.
Have you been in contact with Toyota Denmark, or have you only been in contact with the retailer?

Can you provide a number plate. Then we can investigate. Send it to alex.backer@toyota.dk.

Rude Customer Service advisor

waited 1 hour on the phone to speak to customer service (financial) to give me my balance. The app has never worked for me . I finally got though, the advisor got my details from my telephone number I was calling on , gave her my account number .The RUDE advisor said I never pass the checks and put down the phone on me.
After waiting 1 hour. Your service is DISGRACEFUL. Please train your staff correctly on how to speak with members of the public.
I would never buy another car. Toyota sales better not call me to upgrade my car!!

I took my Toyota to Toyota Vintage in…

I took my Toyota to Toyota Vintage in Wakefield for heating maintenance. I am a driving instructor, so my car is essential for my job. Because of the problems with this repair, I lost three days of work having to repeatedly return the vehicle to the dealership.

After leaving my car with them for a full day, they failed to reinstall the dual pedal controls correctly. As a driving instructor, this equipment is critical. I had no choice but to take the car elsewhere at 10:30pm to have the pedals properly refitted so I could continue working.

The next day, I had to walk back to the dealership because the dashboard had not been reassembled correctly. There was a noticeable gap between the dashboard connectors, loose pieces hanging from underneath, and parts not fitted properly. I also found scratches on the gear stick and interior trim that were not there before. There appeared to be a large gap between connectors behind the dashboard, which was very concerning.

I explained all of this to the manager, Kelly. Initially, I was told there was nothing wrong. She later took the car back into the workshop and made adjustments, but small plastic screws are still dropping from underneath the dashboard. Although she acknowledged the gap and attempted to address it, I felt my concerns were dismissed and I was left without a proper explanation or reassurance.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the workmanship and customer service. Losing three days of income and having to arrange late-night repairs elsewhere is unacceptable. I expected a far higher standard of care and professionalism.

Rented a Yaris- thank heavens only rented…

Rented a Yaris- thank heavens only rented it - and OMG!
While the engine etc may be Toyota reliable, getting the driver's window to work - a miracle. The info system- eventually worked it out that it is just 20th century technology. Start the car- yep, if you hit the button a few times - works!
Little things may be, but if I had bought one, I'd be swearing profusely every day, and regret not buying a Korean, e.g.

Toyota known issues

We purchased a car early summer, very happy with the car, performance and customer service, however we encountered a well versed issue (google search) with Plug in Hybrid Toyota cars; the 12v battery draining leaving the car rendered dead. After two recoveries and the purchase of a battery booster we contacted Toyota Yeovil to seek assistance. Having waited 24 hours for the warranty to be checked we were informed Toyota would not replace the battery.

We have other personal and business cars from different manufacturers which don’t suffer this issue and if an issue is encountered the dealership provide a level of service which is highly recommended, unlike Toyota. This will be the last Toyota we purchase.

Hi Dean - you have rated Toyota Denmark, not Toyota UK, or the Toyota dealer in Yeovil.

I will be happy to try to help you get in touch with Toyota UK, but I guess a rating of the relevant Toyota organization would do the trick.

Kind regards

Toyota Denmark.

I bought a brand-new Toyota Camry…

I bought a brand-new Toyota Camry believing I was investing in quality and reliability. What I got was a lemon—rattles, warning lights, phantom seatbelt alerts, and even strange chirping noises that make it sound like I’m chauffeuring a bird sanctuary.

But the real disappointment hasn’t just been the vehicle. It’s been Toyota’s response.

I spent weeks trying to work with their Denver Regional Office, only to be met with cold formality, legal technicalities, and zero effort to truly make things right. They followed the minimum obligations under lemon law—but showed no goodwill, no empathy, and no recognition of how much time, stress, and inconvenience I’ve endured.

I didn’t buy a new car to fight tooth and nail for fair treatment. I chose Toyota based on reputation—but after this experience, I can say with full confidence: this company doesn’t stand behind its customers once the sale is made.

Toyota has lost my trust—and likely the trust of many around me who are watching how this has been handled.

Hi Tyler - sad to hear you have problems with both your Toyota and the Denver office.
We from Toyota Denmark (Yes us with Greenland) can't really help. Denver is part of Toyota North America. We suggest you get in contact with them.

No matter where in the world you buy and drive a Toyota, you should of course get treated with respect, so we hope your experience reach the right people at Toyota North America and they find a suitable solution for you.

Kind regards

Dangerous Hybrid Failure ignored

Contacted Toyota direct as well as my local dealership I purchased the car form, due to a dangerous fail with my vehicles hybrid system whilst driving on the motorway. Neither of them bothered to get back to me on the issue. To add insult, this happened before, which I reported and they again did nothing to fix the problem.
My experience of Toyota in England with my previous vehicle was problem free, so I'm really shocked at the difference in service here.
I've always found Toyota a good company. My experience form the DK branch has left me unimpressed.

Toyota are happy to leave new cars faulty

Toyota uk cars are great whilst they work but we bought a new one which has an intermittent electrical fault. All the safety features cruise control etc crash frequently but we are told they can't be repaired until they are permanent. So we have a new car that is faulty 80% of the time and no one can do anything about it!

Won't buy Toyota again.

Maybe some Danish Toyota buyers will appreciate your input, don't you think it would be more relevant to rate Toyota UK, instead of Toyota Denmark.

Remember Trustpilot is not a place to rate the actual product, but the service and buying experience.

We hope you get your electrical fault solved.

Kind regards

How I think Toyota is.

Toyota is a very good car company its reliable on, it doesn't break down often and its a good car. I don't know much about Toyota so I'm not going to be able to make a big paragraph about it.

Be aware of Toyota Highlander handling

Should have written this a few years ago, like 2020. Though I had read all positive reviews on the Toyota Highlander full sized SUV I found it so unacceptable that I traded it in within 2 years for a Chevy Traverse which had widened the wheelbase. Apparently GM caught on to something affecting the handling & ride that Toyota had not. The Traverse turned out to be the right move. The Toyota felt long and narrow. It was the first new vehicle that took getting used to driving it. Oddly my 5'2" spouse had the feeling of freight when it was driven on steep and curvy highways. She had the sensation of our going off the roadway. Apparently, no one evaluates the ride for the passenger. I called Toyota to check if an elevated seat was a possibility. They had no concern with variations or features to raise the passenger's seat.

Thanks for your input. We are not selling the Highlander in Denmark, so the review can't really be relevant for Toyota in Denmark.
