Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 35,545 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers truly love how simple the platform is to navigate, making daily saving and investing accessible and engaging even for complete beginners. People frequently praise the clean user interface, minimal fees, and helpful educational tools that make managing personal money completely straightforward. Some reviewers were not happy with recent changes to interest rates, noting that higher rates often only apply to new users rather than existing loyal customers. A few other people also felt that sudden drops in financial returns were disappointing after enjoying much better rates previously.

We're sorry to see your disappointment.

The interest rate on our Cash ISA is linked to the Bank of England base rate, so it rises and falls in line with the BoE's decisions. While this can sometimes lead to reductions, it ensures that your savings remain aligned with the broader economic environment.

Trading 212 terminated my account after I gave them every document they asked for. No warning, no reason.

I'm 21, a student, and I work in the US every summer. I save part of what I earn and invest it. At no point did my account hold more than 15,400 in net deposits. That is normal student savings, not a suspicious volume of money.

Trading 212 asked me to verify where my funds came from. I complied fully. I sent my US paychecks, statements from my US accounts, statements from my European accounts, and everything else they requested. I answered every question.

Then, without any further message, they told me that after a "business review" they decided to terminate my account. They gave no reason, no explanation, and no warning. They said my positions would be closed over the next 30 days.

Here is what makes this unacceptable. If they doubted any source of income, they could have told me. A simple message saying they could not verify a deposit and would restrict the account unless I provided proof would have given me a chance to fix it. I had the documents and would have sent them immediately. Instead I got a silent termination after I had already cooperated.

A broker has the right to manage its risk. But a customer who has complied with every request deserves to know what the problem is. Closing an account with no stated reason and forcing the sale of positions on their timeline, not mine, is not how a platform that holds people's money should behave.

I'm not claiming to know their internal reasoning. I only know what I provided and what they did. I'm posting this so others know that full documentation does not protect you from being cut off without explanation.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand why the lack of a detailed explanation has been frustrating.

As part of our regulatory obligations and risk management processes, we may occasionally need to carry out additional checks on an account, including reviews of the source of funds or source of wealth. In some cases, following a business review, we may also decide that we’re no longer able to continue providing our services.

We appreciate that you would have preferred more information about the reasoning behind the decision. However, there can be circumstances in which we’re limited in what we can disclose about internal reviews or the specific factors considered.

If you have any outstanding questions about the account closure process or the handling of your remaining positions and funds, please reply to our latest email so we can review the case further.

Everytime seems having to learn a whole app…

It's like having to learn a whole app again everytime one returns, how it may work, what the different convoluted intentionally bifacial devious tabs mean, on Stocks ISA tab it shows a particular amount and just clicking to INVEST it shows Stocks ISA having a completely different number is an example
Anyone with half a brain can see most of the reviews are fake
Apps like Lightyear and Freetrade are so easy and intuitive to understand, upon returning to them even after long periods there clear in their meanings, displays and organise even for new users

I appreciate that Trading 212 takes…

I appreciate that Trading 212 takes security seriously, and I fully understand the importance of identity verification in preventing fraud and protecting customers.

However, I find it increasingly frustrating that I am repeatedly being asked to verify my identity, despite having successfully completed the process as recently as this weekend.

While I fully support the need for robust security measures, I feel there should be a better balance between protecting customers and providing a smooth, convenient experience.

Having to repeatedly submit the same information is both time-consuming and frustrating, particularly when I have already complied with your requests.

I hope this is something Trading 212 can look into improving, as otherwise I have been pleased with the platform.

Thank you for taking my feedback into consideration.

Thank you for the detailed feedback.

We’re glad to hear you recognise the importance of the security measures we have in place, and we understand why being asked to verify your identity again shortly after completing the process can be frustrating.

Additional verification may sometimes be required as part of our ongoing security, KYC and risk-management checks, even when a previous verification was completed successfully. If you’re being asked to complete the same verification repeatedly, please get in touch with us via the in-app chat or at info@trading212.com so we can review what’s happening in your case.
