I love Trago

I love Trago, it’s a huge castle-style privately owned chain of shops dotted around Cornwall and Devon which sells just about everything you can imagine from furniture to DIY to craft stuff, musical instruments, clothing and garden goods. Then there’s the smaller shops dotted around outside that sell food and a Warrens bakery that sells pasties etc. There are peacocks and chickens randomly wandering round outside and the staff feed them which is very sweet, they roost in the trees at dusk. It’s a sort of outlet store which sells some discontinued last season stuff mixed with this season and you occasionally get some great little finds but mostly it’s great for basics. The Liskeard branch is our nearest and the staff are always helpful and friendly too. It’s slightly mad and an eccentric place but we like it!

Excellent quality and service buying a kitchen.

I have just bought a new kitchen at Tragos and this is the second one I have bought from them as I moved. I am more than happy ! The quality is of a very high standard, and the service is excellent, helpful and full of experienced advice. I couldn't have done better anywhere. And it's half price for January!!!!! Amazing value!

I visit Trago Mill regularly ,But am shocked at the very poor management that is currently running store, I lined up today 20/11/2025 as many other people did waiting and wondering why there were only 3 tills working when there was approximately 30 people waiting many just put there goods down and walked out as I had done previously, The Manager should be looking for another position as he is not capable of running store and losing many £1000s of pounds by lost purchases on behalf of Trago Mills

Not sure why I have the urge to go and…

Not sure why I have the urge to go and have a look as I usually end up disappointed. The occasional true bargains are more than offset by poor service, Byzantine management and poor quality products. Note to self... Don't bother.

Rude arrogant scruffy security.

Wow. What can I say. Popped into Exeter Trago mills with the other half and was followed around by the scruffy looking fat security guard the whole time. Absolutely laughable that a mum of three who pays her way and the other half who grafts and earns over 100 k a year would have these suspicions thrown at them and be treated that way. I would like to ni why she thought her behaviour was acceptable. . I confronted the unprofessional untrained security as we were leaving and she wasn't even able to string an honest sentence together and laughed. And you guys employed that!, . Seems that from the other reviews you have a problem with this behaviour. Maybe train your staff to be a bit better at what they are doing, and a bit more discreet.

Trago mills Merthyr...

Trago mills Merthyr.... Wow the managerial team are a joke!
Spent over £2500 at the store, doing a garden transformation part of those funds were for a 8ft by 6ft3 shed, spent 5-6 hours building it only to reveal a totally different shed more like 12 ft by 5ft and over half metres taller than stated, which considering built my garden around all the measurements this was totally messed up and had to restructure the whole garden! Treated by absolute crap by there garden manager Natalie, and even had a security guard following my wife and I around the store being treated like criminals for trying to sort out the error that they made. The way they treat there customers and even staff is shocking and nothing will get done as they are all cohorting within managerial level. Another manager on the same level called Matthew didn't even look into the complaint as he stated he knew the woman and couldn't believe it to be true then when passed the complaint over to the actual store manager was promised a reply this was almost 3 weeks ago. So if your making large purchase items I would avoid this company as getting the issue sorted will be hell as there's no structure in place and only a store manager there every few weeks/months

Very impressive service …

Went to trago to buy a new furniture collection for our lounge after having a very bad experience with DFS and I have to say it was a master class in customer care from start right up to delivery excellent service lovely product and the delivery guys couldn't have been more helpful no dramas just good service from start to finish well done Trago

Fantastic store. Unbeatable selection of items

Evan in flooring department was very helpful. I wanted to make a large flooring purchase. He told me that there was an extra 15% discount the following day. I was worried the flooring would sell out at the lower price. Needn't have worried, even double checked my calculations, loaded a trolley. Put to one side for me to come back the next day.

The flooring is superior quality to the flooring I recently fitted at a higher cost online. I will now know to check Trago for future flooring needs.

High praise to the sales team who assisted with payment and organising delivery. All the staff I spoke with were super helpful and shopping here is a nicer experience.

It is enormous and if you can't find what you need here it would be a surprise. It's like an Aladdin's cave.

Nice coffee too. Date may be slightly incorrect. It was definitely January 25.

HORRIFIC treatment of employees,

Having em do shifts without the mandatory 11 hours between shifts and giving shifts that do not have a fixed end time. Also will change a employees 'booked holidays' without notifying the employee. Refuse to give any crucial information in writing.

Exceptional Customer Service

I experienced outstanding customer service from Newton Abbot branch when I had a problem with an item I had bought while on holiday in the area.
As I don't live locally the staff went out of their way to promptly pack up and post the missing part even though they do not offer mail order.

Great Customer Service from Merthyr Store

Great Customer Service from Alyn at the Merthyr Tydfil Store furniture department. Had a beautiful wooden dining table delivered a few months ago, which unfortunately had a manufacturing defect in the wood finish - I was concerned that this may prove to be an awkward issue to resolve, but Trago Mills were understanding and responsive in replacing our table under warranty - impressed with the company

The price on the ticket is not the…

The price on the ticket is not the price you pay at the till. Purchased an off cut if net at 52p and when at the till they could not accept that on the till so charged 53p as the till would accept that. I challenged this only to be told sorry that's all we can do by the Supervisor at The Riverside tills. So do be careful as my 1p could cost you more if the till won't accept the price on the ticket and the supervisor can't do anything... It is the principal.

Bad Experience at Trego Liskeard

I’ve only visited the Liskeard store, so I’m not able to comment on the other stores.
The store is large, a bit cluttered, but you can find some good deals.
However, I did not have a good experience.
Upon paying, my two wheeled baskets were taken away quite abruptly by a security person saying that I wasn’t allowed to take them outside.
When I asked the cashier how I was meant to carry all my goods to my car, I was told in a curt and stern manner that it wasn’t their problem.
I was the only person there at the time and 5 members of staff watched me struggle out the door carrying heavy bags, which I had to leave by the road, outside and unattended, whilst I fetched my car.
Once they’ve got your money they don’t seem interested in taking care of you as a customer.

What excellent service and price

What excellent service and price. We ordered carpets from Newton Abbot. The staff were so helpful and patient given the large queues. When it came to delivery Chris in deliveries was superb as he managed to squeeze our delivery in at short notice. The two delivery guys were amazing and managed to get the carpets in to almost exactly where they were needed. Hats off to Trago

Bad customer services

Over the years i have spent thousands of pounds at Trago. Only a few years ago is spent nearly £4000 in one hit, on bedroom furniture for 4 bedrooms and carpet for the whole house. The manager called me and offered my a Trago 2 card which entitles me to a further discount as i was a valued customer.
I had a Christmas present this year it was a fleece something to the value of £20 or so, anyway it did not fit so today 28th Dec i drove from Penzance to Liskeard just about 1 hour to exchange this Christmas present,
Took it to the customer service desk explained it was a present and did not have a receipt although i was able to produce the card it was purchased on. She said she would be able to trace the sale and it would take about 10 minutes, so we browsed around to 15 minutes or so. When we returned to the Customer Service desk she said the were 100s of these sold recently (i said including mine) and she could not identify which sale was mine, therefore could not offer an exchange item. Customer Services what a joke.
After the £1000s i have spent at Trago Liskeard she was not going to help me out over a £20 item

Made uncomfortable

I’m a minor, I had a security guard follow me around accusing me and my friend of something we didn’t do, made us feel uncomfortable so we paid for our stuff and left.

The accusation was that I had stolen a product, when I had left it on a shelf.

Excellent customer service bodmin store

Visited to find a small DIY item and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The gentleman that served me helped me find the latch plate i needed in the doors diy section, showing me options and taking an interst in what i was doing. I didn't get his name but he had a slight limp and said he'd been there over 20 years. The team in the gardening department were also brilliant showing me multi tool options, giving advice and I felt the lady and gentlemen that served me went above and beyond to help me. Appalling Customer Service

We visited Trago Mills in Merthyr Tydfil, which is an hour and a half's drive from our home. There was a large array of goods, although more expensive than places like the Range or Home Bargains. I did, however, find a pair of memory foam slippers for £14. I tried on the slipper at the top of the box, but could not try both on, as the second slipper was sealed into the bottom of the box. The slipper (left) fitted perfectly so I purchased them. It was only when I arrived home and dismantled the box that I discovered that the second slipper was also for the left foot! Clearly, we would spend as much in fuel doing the round trip to return the slippers. Instead, I contacted customer services and filled in their online complaint form on three occasions, but received no response. I then located the email address of the MD and sent another complaint, but still no response. Needless to say, we won't be shopping there again. Customer experience is everything!
