Manufacturer, Trail's Marathon stove, feedback

What did you like or dislike? I liked that we could order the apartment-size stove, rare is 28". Excellent After-Sale response from Ontario manufacturer, "Marathon," when coil burners apparent flaw, last coil is not secured but design is that it COULD be (a pot would sit crooked as last coil was lose and above rest). Manufacturer sent us 2 new ones! HOWEVER, 2 flaws with simplest most desirable product design--when oven is on oven light stays on, burned out in less than a month! IMPROVE: with a stove panel switch. PUT A SWITCH FOR INNER OVEN LIGHT. Also, I miss the appliance socket on the console. INCLUDE A PLUG-IN on the horizontal back panel of the stove. Unnecessary DETAILS. Marathon manufacturers. Our previous GE glasstop stove, planned obsolescence, a mess that can't be cleaned-up like new. PLUS, after about 8-years, burners were haunted--turn it off and it goes to high for minutes, eventually off, frightening to discover and witness. I wonder if getting an appliance repair to study and rewire the glasstop elements would be more cost effective. We didn't like to risk good-money-after-bad.
Why is this company doing well or something to improve? Trail's online ordering was good. They phoned to offer something locally available weeks earlier, but our requirements were unusual: a Back panel with clock, timer, and oven dials (zero others models have this anymore); 28" (only 1 or 2 options); white; coil burners; local representation; Canadian made. Manufacturers would benefit with customer satisfaction survey.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service!

In late November 2025 I went out looking for a small stackable washer and dryer. I first went to Best Buy because they were closest to me. I found a set I liked a lot with a good price, and was prepared to purchase them on the spot. However, I ended up walking away due to their atrocious customer service.

I ended up going to two other places. The second place had good customer service and prices I liked. Yet, with the negative experience at Best Buy I decided to check out Trail Appliances too. Wow, talk about excellent customer service! I definitely recommend their business.

I ended up purchasing an LG all in one tower washer/dryer combo. I got a great Black Friday deal.

Preet, my salesperson, was very patient, professional, and went out his way to answer all my questions. I highly recommend him. The unit is on it's way. So, I can't review their after purchase service yet. But, with what I've experienced so far, I expect it will be good too.

We were talked into a front load…

We were talked into a front load washer, and PROMISED we would love it! Salesman even offered his phone number and address is we were not thrilled with the new machine. Guess what..HATE IT! Called, sent photo's of unclean laundry, oxi does not even disslove. Loan behold..they will do NOTHING, and forgot to mention we could buy another machine, with the cost to re-stock! beyond dissappointed.

Best experience - see Monty!!

Just bought some Miele ovens from Monty at the Richmond Trail location. He was absolutely amazing to deal with. So friendly and knowledgeable. He followed along with us every step of the way making sure we had all the information in the beginning, following up in the middle and making sure everything was good at the end. I never felt forgotten or left alone. Such great customer service throughout. He was a true pleasure to deal with. If you need a new appliance you should definitely see Monty. 👍👍

Do not waste your time shopping there…

Do not waste your time shopping there coquitlam location is so much better. No one here cares about you at all only about the money and their commission. They all suck and are useless. Selfish and only care about themselves.

Settings on Whirlpool fridge

The sales person was helpful and the delivery guys were polite, professional and knowledgeable.
On the negative side no one seemed able to instruct me on adjusting settings. Also they might as well not bother with manual as it contains no pertinent information. Saskatoon SK.

The worst after sales service

The worst after sales service. They do not comply with what they offer as a guarantee.

We bought a house with their appliances, the fridge broke. A technician was sent 4 times and wasn’t fixed properly. They didn’t replace it. They sent a used mini fridge full of mold.
We have been almost 2 months dealing with this problem and they don’t respond. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM.

After sales service

No after sales service. Edmonton South. I bought 2 appliances in the last year and a half, and both failed. Good thing I have extended warranty, which Trail farms out to a third party.

I have been dealing with Memory Express for years with my computer needs and guess what? CUSTOMER SERVICE! What a novel concept. Take note Trail and take an example of how a company should look after customers.

Customer service in store was great

Customer service in store was great!
Come day of delivery/installation, they cancel the installation with no notice.
I’ve arranged my day/work around this so now I have to hang around all afternoon for the delivery, have the dishwasher sit here in my kitchen for three days and then hang around another day for them to install it. WTF.

Poor service on a new sale

We purchased approximately $6500 in appliances from this company and told our sales person that we were planning to buy even more for our new kitchen renovation. The sales process was fine, but the post sales service was not very good. Several calls to both the sales person and to an apparent manager resulted in zero callbacks. So we will not be using this company again and definitely not recommending them to anyone. The sales process was fine, but the post sales was not very good. I highly do not recommend this store

I highly do not recommend this store. We purchased all of our appliances in February 2025 and were told that they were in stock and would be stored for us until our renovation was completed. When we called in May to schedule delivery in June, we were informed that the stove was not available. The sales manager then offered us a lower-grade range as a replacement. then we were later told that 8 units would be arriving in Edmonton in a week and would be delivered to us once they reached Calgary. However, we were then informed that the range we ordered had been discontinued by Samsung and we had to accept an older model of the same stove. This incident confirmed to us that they had sold our range in the hope of replacing it before discovering it was discontinued. They sold an item that was not even theirs to begin with. How can you trust a company that does this? If it were up to me, I would not give them a single star. Take my word for it, take your business elsewhere.

We purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher from the Edmonton location. Our sales consultant was Devon Hooks. He was very helpful in that he gave us options, he answered all our questions, he was a very pleasant young man to deal with.

Convection Cooking

We purchased a new LG induction/convection oven at the 149 St location in Edmonton. Don, our sales associate was great. He knew his products and answered all of our questions. Don helped us choose the range that best suited our needs. With purchase we received a free convection cooking class which we attended today. Carl, the chef, demonstrated so many ways to use a convection oven and answered the many questions attendees had regarding their new ranges. It was an extremely informative afternoon not to mention the delicious food we were able to enjoy.

I initially had a positive engagement…

I initially had a positive engagement with staff. I purchased a dishwasher and was on my way home. When I was setting it up I realized there was a missing part. I very important part. The elbow that connects the water line to the dishwasher. I called up my salesperson and mentioned this and she said that it's not a standard part because most people use the old part from the previous dishwasher. I told her mine is old and didn't have a removeable part. Why wasn't I told about this when I was there? "It must have slipped my mind" she explained. However, she would sell me one for $15. I told her my round trip to her was four hours. What's that? You can sell it to me for cost which is $10? But I have to still come pick it up? I was fuming at that point and ended the call. Don't buy from this place, they are so money hungry and don't give a care about how they treat customers.

Great experience with Trail refrigerator purchase

We received exceptional advice from our Millstream Trail Product Expert Karan Parekh. Karan was very knowledgeable, courteous and patient, while we chose our wonderful Bosch refrigerator. Thanks, Karan! We took delivery of our new refrigerator on date, and on time. The delivery men, Brayden and Marvin, were excellent: professional, courteous and meticulous.
We highly recommend Trail Appliances; we have bought there before, and will again.
