This is our fourth time using Travel Local to plan a trip. Our vacation was a three week trip in Italy with another couple that involved three cities and two locations in the countryside. Travel Local helped us plan the somewhat complicated transportation issues, hotels, and six guided tours. The tours ranged from an exclusive winery tour to a guide with a PH.D. in art history for three sights in Florence.
All the guides were superb. I have learned to rely on Travel Local to provide guides that mesh with our interests and who are willing to adjust the "standard itinerary" to reflect our interests.
Once the details of the trip have been decided, an app is provided that contains each day's schedule, with the necessary tickets, reservations, relevant telephone numbers, etc. I am more of a "paper person" but the app is easy to use and extremely useful.

Started planning a trip to Norway for group of 12 friends and quickly realized that even as an experienced travel planner I was in over my head. Mar at Travel Local pug together an amazing itinerary that evolved around a few things that we knew we wanted to do. I would never have known about several of the things that Mar put into the itinerary. I could not be happier with my experience with Travel Local! Not only did they organize an amazing itinerary but all the reservations for transportation, hotels and activities were fulfilled flawlessly.

We connected with our agent, Thanos, and he really listened to me and what my husband and I like. He crafted an adventure for us in Greece, and we had four places we stayed and went to 3 islands. He refined per my request, and it was absolutely incredible. Our trip was so smooth and seamless, we did not feel stressed about where we needed to be, what could we do, what time, etc. it was all set! The communication during our travels was perfect too. It was very easy to book the trip with our advisor Valerie. She was knowledgeable about hotels, as all of them were great. The only problem we had was with a few excursions. Some were not as expected and another was a 2 1/2hour drive each way from our hotel. That said our driver and guide took good care of us and Bali is definitely a place to see.

From the very beginning, our experience with Joy Mongolia was nothing short of exceptional.

Through TravelLocal, we were connected with Joy Mongolia to help plan a father-and-son self-drive adventure across Mongolia. Our group consisted of several dads travelling with our 6-year-old sons, so this wasn’t a typical itinerary. We wanted our boys to experience the true Mongolia—its vast landscapes, nomadic culture and adventure—while making sure the journey was suitable for young children.

Our trip planner, Burnee, began working with us almost six months before departure, and she was outstanding throughout the entire planning process. She patiently worked through countless questions, itinerary changes and ideas, always taking the time to understand what was important to us. She struck the perfect balance between adventure and practicality, ensuring long driving days, accommodation, meals and activities were all suitable for both the adults and the children. No request ever felt too much, and she was always responsive, thoughtful and genuinely invested in making this trip a success.

When we finally arrived in Mongolia, Burnee personally met us, conducted a comprehensive pre-trip briefing and even helped us recover our delayed luggage with the airline. It immediately gave us confidence that we were in good hands.

We were then introduced to the incredible team who would accompany us throughout the journey—our guide, Tami, our driver, Myagaa, and our chef, Lkhagvaa.

They were, without exaggeration, one of the best tour teams I have ever travelled with.

Every day, they were attentive, patient and incredibly flexible. They never rushed us, especially when the boys wanted extra time to explore, play or simply take in their surroundings. At the same time, they somehow managed to keep us on schedule and ensured we experienced everything we had hoped for. Before long, our kids had completely bonded with the team, laughing, playing games and looking forward to spending time with them every single day. Seeing that connection was incredibly special.

One moment, however, truly demonstrated the professionalism and heart of the Joy Mongolia team.

One evening while we were camping, the weather changed without warning. Strong winds arrived, temperatures dropped rapidly and heavy rain swept across the campsite. Within moments, Tami, together with Myagaa and Lkhagvaa, sprang into action. They quickly evacuated everyone from the tents into the safety of a nearby ger, making sure every child was warm, dry and comfortable. Fires were lit, blankets prepared and warm clothing organised, while the fathers naturally focused on our children. Meanwhile, the team took care of the heavy lifting before heading back out into the storm to secure our tents and belongings. We simply felt safe.

That moment perfectly summed up who they are—calm, experienced, compassionate professionals who genuinely care about the people they are travelling with.

Mongolia is already an extraordinary destination, but it was the people at Joy Mongolia who made this journey truly unforgettable.

Our trip was wonderful. We had great centrally located hotels that served a delicious breakfast daily. Our drivers were prompt, courteous with great comfortable cars. Our excursions were fun and memorable. Trust the process and all goes well.

Galway was the most organized part of our trip. we loved the town, the accommodations, and the guides. The other areas were less organized. we were not completely prepared for some of the long drives- 2 toddlers.

Well I wasn’t sure what to expect from my trip to Outer Mongolia. But I was rewarded one hundred fold. Mongolia is nothing like you expect, it transports you to a place of serenity. Its green plains that stretch from horizon to horizon give you a sense of freedom, of release from the burdens of daily life. The constant contact with the wildlife is enchanting. The wild horses were beautiful and a joy to calmly watch them go about their grazing and watering. Their down hill gallops with foals in tow were breathtaking. But what made my trip so special and rewarding was my guide Sara. From the minute I met her I knew I was going to enjoy my time in Mongolia and I was right. She could not do enough to make my trip a fabulous experience every day. She always made sure that I was safe, informed and comfortable. She joined me in all aspects of the trip, never leaving me at places to fend for myself. She was so easy to be around. Her English was as good as mine. Hats off too to my Driver, Huyagaa, who was always punctual, accommodating and friendly. My trip entailed visits to a monastery in Ulaanbaatar and local galleries including the Chinggis Khan Museum, road trips to the Mini Gobi Desert, Elsen Tasakhai Sand Dunes and Khustain Nuruu National Park. I also had a day’s immersive experience spent with a Mongolian Nomadic Pastoral Family which you must do. I spent 3 nights in Gers, which were extremely comfortable with en suites. I rode a camel, a horse, and was dinked on a motorbike to herd the sheep, goats and cattle. The family I visited were so friendly and engaging not to mention their food, Wow! Maybe because I helped prepare it 😉 What a fabulous experience. What I enjoyed so much as well was having that beautiful lush green grass under my feet every day. The walks were stunning across the plains to the hilltops in the distance. I also felt so safe wherever I was in Mongolia. It is such a special place I cannot recommend it more highly. Burnee, my booking agent, was also very professional from my enquiry to my booking. I will be back, that is guaranteed!

They connected us with guides and experiences in Alesund and Bergen that were wonderful. I did not realize that they only started making arrangements after we placed our deposit so we wound up with some ridiculous situations that really detracted from the overall experience - like giving us internal (no windows) handicap accessible rooms on the Havila voyage between Bergen and Alesund. They also made some mistakes in some of the reservations that I thankfully noticed before we left. I think that we ended up paying too much for the trip overall - some parts were great, but overall is was a B

Domna, our local travel agent in Athens, planned a superior trip for my husband and I to celebrate our 60th birthdays and 36th wedding anniversary. I found Domna on TravelLocal and honestly was a little bit nervous, but after reading the reviews decided to reach out. From our very first contact Domna was pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable! She set up a time to meet with me and my husband via a video call. She asked questions and listened to what we were looking for and came up with a great itinerary for us! It looked great on paper, but was even better in person! Domna provided a digital itinerary which was fabulous as it updated as needed and had real time directions back to our hotels. Domna met us in person at our hotel the day we arrived and presented us with a gift. Domna was wonderful to work with, I can’t say enough good things about her.
And the trip…. Once in a lifetime experience! (Athens! Mykonos! Naxos! And Santorini!)
Hotels- all four of our hotels were in the perfect location, and all were special in their own right. Wonderful staff, clean, and maybe a little luxurious! We would return to each and every one of them.
Transfers- our drivers were top shelf. Friendly, knowledgeable and on time. We left with new friends.
Tours- were well chosen by Domna to help us see the most of each destination and to learn about the culture and history as well as enjoy fantastic views.
Also Domna was on hand throughout our trip answering questions on What’s App promptly…. Like when we realized we left all our Euros at home!! I panicked but Domna solved the problem.
Domna truly planned an exceptional trip giving us beautiful memories to last a lifetime. Domna is a gem and we feel very lucky to have found her.

Fantastic loved everything about it. The initial organisation, communication, suggestions and follow through was easy with Kamal, and already comforted me as a solo traveller. Ibrahim met me at the airport and as he said "Ill be with you from Airportt to Airport" made me feel looked after right from the start. I didn't just love the country it's people and all the different experiences outlined and explained in the itinerary, but Ibrahim was on the ball with it all. He was a safe driver, professional conduct, flexible, personable and had answers for all my questions as well as provided interesting information throughout rhe trip. Ibrahim went out if his way when there was a change to a mistake I made with flying out of a different airport, looking for options in sending my parcels, stopping when I wanted to take pictures and always punctual and friendly. I felt in good hands all the way through and relaxed and comfortable in the Van he drives. An experience to cherish and highly recommend it especially as a solo traveller. The guides provided in the different places were friendly and shared their knowledge which helped me to understand history customs and the country more deeply. I felt I left with a good immersion into the culture with the variety of my 2 week trip. Thank you so much

The Travel Local model is a good one designed to put one in touch with a local travel agent in the country you intend visiting. If the local agent is good it should work well - in the case of our trip to Ecuador / Galapagos it did NOT.
We contacted Travel Local well over 12 months ahead of our trip to ensure that our specific needs were met - a matter of a few weeks prior to leaving it became clear that they had not:
We had specified 2 single rooms throughout the trip - we were booked into shared twin rooms ( This was rescued with urgency except for one night when I complained strongly)
We specified the need for birding guides and were initially told that this was possible only to find , again very close to the trip that this company said they were not available - this was simply not true because we found our own.
Communication was poor and at times plain lazy using AI generated answers that did not address my questions.
The Company in question is RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL TOUR OPERATOR and the individual who was responsible for this poor service was ALVARO.
I urge you not to work with him.
At the end of our trip my son extended his stay in the highlands - this was organised by Jacqui at the same company. She also checked on our progress during the trip and she was very good.
If you must work with RTTO I would insist on working with Jacqui rather than Alvaro who , in my opinion , is extremely lazy and does not manage in a detailed manner.

Hara was amazing, organised the most memorable trip through Greece. Every detail was arranged to perfection.

We were well looked after from start to finish. Nuno and colleagues listened to what we wanted to do and see and adapted things to suit. Excellent accommodation, pleasant and helpful and on time drivers, knowledgeable tour guides and excellent restaurants all along the trip

We had a wonderful guide, Mahmet. He was knowledgeable, personable, and flexible. He answered all our questions and responded to our feedback. He had high energy and very proud of Istanbul and Turkey. I would highly recommend him.

The entire trip was perfect.
The hotels were nice and the locations were within walking distance of all the historical sites.
Every guide was on time for transportation and would stop for photography when asked.

Travel Local (Corbeico Travel) recently planned a pre-cruise trip for us in Turkey. They did an amazing job. Our primary interfaces,Atoofah and Buse, were knowledgeable, flexible and very accommodating. We loved visiting both Istanbul and Cappadocia. The sights were amazing, our hotels great and the food delicious . We especially enjoyed Cappadocia: the sunrise balloon ride and our wonderful guide John (Can) made it an unforgettable experience. Could not have been better!

Our travel coordinator, Adam, organized everything perfectly and the entire trip went exactly as planned.

Atoofah was very responsive and helpful in the planning of our trip to Turkey. We saw some incredible sights and had knowledgeable guides. We really enjoyed Cappadocia and Istanbul, and it makes me want to explore more of Turkey.
