I contacted these guys because i've seen some of their websites and was really impressed. Don't get me wrong, the website they made for me is really cool, however i regret choosing them for this project. Everytime I message them, they just open the message and I have to message them twice to get a response. I also asked them about fixing my website speed because it slowed down somehow, (maybe from some apps I installed) they told me they will be scanning my website the following day and get back to me, but then i never heard anything back. Its like a cat and mouse game with these guys. Once they get your money they throw you in the back of the line with all other waiting customers and get to you when they can. Hire more people, or dont over promise!

This business has been trying to take my review down several times. So here's a new one! :D

First of all, they advertise themselves as Shopify EXPERTS (you can see the badge on their site), however, Shopify DOES NOT know them! They do not show up when searching in the Shopify Experts site either :-) Shopify Experts with charge you THROUGH Shopify and will have an expert profile listed. These guys have no expert profile, at least with this business name, and will bill you externally (PayPal in my case).

I found this company through Facebook, and due to the low price for a full redesign ($420), I decided to give it a go.

I have to say that I have been a Shopify employee in the past. I have seen different stores, from plus customers to new entrepreneurs. I’m familiar with what takes to set up a new store. It is hard and time-consuming. I have an e-com business myself.

When I first checked this company catalog, I was delighted. Stores such as Canvas Cultures or Hobbo Jack (advertised on their site at the time) looked fantastic. I decided to pay for a full redesign package.

One of the Trennder certified designers, explained to me the serviced provided (they included full banners and images design, logo, and so on). It sounded good.

I had to pay UPFRONT. No template mockup is provided. All you have is the PROMISE that your store will be great (and I thought It would be, due to their advertised stores). Additionally, the delivery time is around ONE WEEK, BUT you can only claim a refund in the next 48 hours after paying. If you want to see the job done, there is no possible refund. That’s the policy in place when placing my order.

A week passed, and my new template was uploaded. They used a Shopify official theme (Motion). To my surprise, the work done was simply put a few sections together in the new template. A very simple job. Nothing like the amazing advertised stores.

- Banners: they did three mockups as banners that looked pixelated and low quality. Nothing like the advertised stores.

- The logo was not great and was not an SVG file; it was pixelated when zooming in.

- They just set collections on the homepage in the same order I had them in my navigation menu, using default collection images. The thumbnails were all blurry and cropped.

- No tracking links and other relevant links set up, grammar mistakes in the text (for example "emailus").

- The product page: The description not even arranged in tabs as it was previously. All trust badges or extra code gone.

- It is an American company, even though the person that accessed my store for the job accessed from Ecuador (I thought they had "certified designers" in the US). I asked and they said they have the team spread over other countries as well. A US "Shopify Experts" business with designers logging into your store from Ecuador. And Shopify does not know them.

I emailed providing some feedback and expressing my disappointment. He asked me to try and publish that theme since it may convert better, just like that. Go ahead and published a cheap-looking, unfinished theme, and it may work. Again, I have seen many stores in my years in Shopify and this template was everything but good.

Alright. I insisted that the theme was not something I'd like to use. He told me they would work on a new theme.

Another 7 days or so passed, and the new theme was delivered. It was a $59 theme forest theme. These themes are not in the Shopify official store for a reason. They have not been officially vetted or approved.

Long story short, this new theme had some serious bugs affecting banners and other stuff. At this point, I realized that this company would never provide the level of service I was expecting.

I emailed again mentioning the bugs I found, thanking him for his work, and politely asking a partial refund so we can call it a day, as I acknowledge that they did some work so I didn't even claim the full amount back.

They never got back to me. They just took the money, delivered a subpar work (nothing compared to what they advertise), and got away with it. That's it.

I won't get my money back, but at least, I hope this experience helps people to make an informed decision. Get an actual approved Shopify Expert!! A business that asks you to PAY UPFRONT before seeing any work WITH NO POSSIBILITY OF A REFUND is no good.

I’m astonished by the number of 5-star reviews here and I doubt their honesty. Not sure if the company got any better since, but I felt scammed. As if you buy a nice pair of Nike shoes and you get a replica full of defects. The simple fact that they advertise themselves as Shopify experts when they cannot be found on the official experts' site nor Shopify knows them, is enough to look somewhere else. I have reported them to Shopify.

They went above and beyond for me. I really appreciate their communication, they were always keeping me updated and answered to all my messages.
They created the design that I wanted and helped me with all my requests. The most important thing is that the conversion rate went up significantly. I will hire Trennder for my other stores too.

UPDATE: Since they seem to be trying yet another method of discrediting my review.

WARNING: I urge anyone reading this to reconsider using Trennder because you can see the lengths they go to discredit anyone that had a negative experience with them. Don't say you have not been warned!

1. They claim it is a "fake review from probably freelancers"
- Really? I sent all the documented emails & invoices from Trennder to Trustpilot for review and these were verified as a genuine experience, which is why my review is still up.

2. They say "...the source of this review is organic, which means this review is not based on a genuine experience but rather just a random person who searched our name organically on the internet in order to post bad reviews.."

Seriously?!? If Trustpilot worked this way, there would be no Trustpilot. That is the most illogical reason you could have thought of.

If you post a review and the company you reviewed flags it, it is temporarily taken down and you are contacted by the Trustpilot team to prove that you had a genuine business interaction with the company. you have to provide enough proof to remove any doubt that the experience was true. This includes but is not limited to invoices, emails, screenshots, etc between myself and the company. The company is also contacted to prove otherwise. Clearly, Trennder could not due to the fact that the proof I provided was 100% true and correct.

All this was provided from my end and easily verified by Trustpilot.

Thank God for Trustpilot.

UPDATE *Edit* From 5 Stars to 1!

Once your store design is done, they post it in as many Facebook E-com groups claiming to be the owner so that they get more business. They just keep linking the Trennder site. (I wish you could attach screenshots here, it would make a great addition :P)

I have no issues with this strategy as long as they are honest about it. As my store is new, the FB pixel and Google Analytics is being screwed by random traffic from these posts.

They say it's from people trying to get affiliate commissions but I know affiliate marketing and they don't use any aff links anywhere so clearly there is no way an affiliate would just send them free traffic since there is no tracking link. Only an idiot would fall for that excuse, again, I wish I could post the screenshots!!

A number of group admins have been banning their profiles and even ban anyone from mentioning Trennder because of this. After I commented on one of their fake posts, the profile blocked me lol

All in all, a good initial experience ruined by this tactic.

So honestly, after all this, I cannot recommend their services. You are better off finding a more reputable company to do this for you as they will respect the business relationship.

I would have been more than happy to recommend them in the different FB groups I am part of if they had just asked, it would have even created a better reputation for them!

I guess thinking short-term wins is a better strategy for Trennder, so I have decided to give my next projects to another company.

Good experience working with Trennder for my Shopify-based website!

I was originally trying to get my site done myself since I know my way around Shopify but decided to try out their services.

Overall, I am happy with the experience, my website looks good and I will definitely reach out to them for future projects.

I am very surprised with the work they have done with my ecommerce shop.
Great quality in all the work.
One of my doubts was that my shop is in spanish but there has not been any problem at all with the language.
I am pleasantly impressed.

Originally paid for a graphics package and was offered a free re-design as well. Stephen had really great customer service and was there to answer any questions along the way. Overall satisfied with the quality of the redesign.

Wow, what an awesome experience! The Trennder team delivered above and beyond my expectations. I went with the Site Redesign and Optimization package and sent Stephen at Trennder a wishlist of how I wanted the logo, pages, and site layout to look and feel.

Not only did Stephen put together the site exactly as I wanted, but he also added in a bunch of stylistic effects that really make the site easy on the eyes. Stephen was also very quick with iterations and updated the site with my edits on a moment's notice.

Between the superb professionalism and quality website design, I would definitely hire Trennder again for another project!
