The tour guides of Vietnam and Cambodia
The tour guides, drivers, Hotels and all the people that we encountered, were so welcoming and helpful. you don't see that kind of sincerity in western culture any more.
Our tour guides were, Robin in Hanoi, Minh in Hoi An, Tung/Pine in Saigon and my absolute favourite Mr Phany Hang in Cambodia. These people went above and beyond to showcase their countries, their culture, history and customs.
I highly recommend these countries, it's not just a holiday, it's an experience you'll never forget.
Nothing but perfect
This trip fitted perfectly with my expectations, the Tour director, bus driver and assistant were excellent, nothing was too troublesome. The range of experiences were amazing, accomodation varied between satisfactory and excellent, well above what I expected for what I paid. The group is also environmentally friendly. I just loved the range of experiences, the food was to die for, travel was comfortable and the Sri Lankan people were amazing. I highly recommend both this trip and the company, I will be travelling with them again.
Not the company I expected
We originally booked a 14-day Japan trip and were required to pay a significant “Peak Period” surcharge. However, only a month later, we received an email advising that the tour had been cancelled due to a lack of interest, despite the departure date still being four months away.
While this situation has been frustrating for both of us, the company did provide alternative offers and we have accepted the revised option in full. However, they are now advising that refunds may take up to 60 days to process. It is unreasonable that customers are expected to wait this long for the return of their money following a cancellation initiated by the company.

The trip was very well organised as per usual. The tour took advantage of great scenery around western Canada, and the activities were wonderful. The guide was keen to please the customers and was very informative. Good value.
The Alaska Canada Yellowstone
The Alaska, Canada Yellowstone tour for April 2026. It began in Seattle, didn’t see Seattle and the next 4 days were extremely long driving, made more difficult as you had to shop for food for all meals. The breakfast that was on several occasions provided was very substandard and limited for choice. It would have been better if we flew into a city closer to Yellowstone national park to reduce the time on the bus. Our tour guide provided minimal information in regards to history and places and was not prepared with any details.
TripADeal do not cope with holiday issues
TripADeal are a booking agent NOT a travel agent. When things go wrong e.g. cancelled flights/cancelled cruises, they cannot help and take many, many weeks to obtain refunds which they do not detail/itemise. The refunds are very poor also as a percentage of total cost. Their holidays may be cheaper, but their service, proactive communication and helpfulness is even cheaper. I would not recommend them for any holiday.
Trip a deal packages experience!!
Trip a deal packages and company are not worth considering in my experience.
No refund at all even though I had a medical certificate ,only a specialist whom I can’t see for 3 weeks can provide a medical certificate, not an GP.
Very quick to get you to cancel and agree on the phone to their cancellation terms.
Terrible company terrible terrible terrible.
Don’t do it .
First and last time booking with Tripadeal
First and last time booking with TripADeal. Terrible customer service and zero flexibility on a cancelled package
I booked a cruise to Norway through Tripadeal, including flights from Brisbane to Oslo via Doha on Qatar Airways for 22 April 2026. The Qatar flight was cancelled at the last minute due to the war with Iran.
As we knew prior that the flight was going to be cancelled, we called Tripadeal to cancel the flight 5 days before, as Qatar advised to do so. We wanted to avoid driving 2hrs to the airport, only to be turned back at the airport. We also had a pet and house sitter flying from interstate, if we did not travel, she would have to find somewhere else to stay for the 5 weeks that we had planned.
Tripadeal deemed this as a "voluntary cancellation" and therefore not refundable. That policy is far from fair.
When we contacted Tripadeal to request a partial or full refund for the package, they refused. We then asked if we could transfer the cruise portion to my sister who lives in Denmark so the holiday wouldn’t be completely wasted. They also refused this simple request.
As a result, we have lost the entire holiday and a significant amount of money. Tripadeal is showing absolutely no willingness to help or offer any reasonable solution despite the flight cancellation being through their airline partner. Their “no refund” policy in this situation feels extremely unfair and inflexible.
I will never book with Tripadeal again. If your trip involves flights they don’t control and something goes wrong, don’t expect any support or fairness. Extremely disappointed and very poor value for what was meant to be a dream holiday.
Hurtigruten (the cruise operator) actually wanted to help us and were willing to explore options, but they could not do anything because Tripadeal is the booking agency.
We had also paid extra for several cruise excursions, all of which are now lost. Our travel insurance does not cover situations involving war, so we are completely out of pocket for the entire package.
Tripadeal showed zero flexibility, zero support, and zero care for customers affected by circumstances completely beyond our control. Their “no refund, no transfer” stance in this situation is unfair and unacceptable.
I strongly advise everyone to think twice before booking with Tripadeal, especially any package involving international flights. We will never use them again.

Great trip that truly exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Dragon, was outstanding—his attention to detail and commitment to ensuring everyone was well looked after made a real difference. He is easily the best tour guide we’ve had and played a big part in making the experience so memorable. Thank you to TripADeal for a fantastic holiday in Japan.

I have found TripADeal to be fantastic each time I have used them for a tour. Most recently, I have been to Japan and had Dragon as my guide- he has been the best guide I have experienced so far. All guides have been helpful but Dragon went above and beyond with smaller considerations to ensure guests had the information they needed. He also organised and priced additional tour options for us on days when nothing was scheduled, these were well received and I certainly appreciated them. In terms of value I think it would be hard to find more at this price point.
12 day Japan Discovery tour
I have just completed the 12 day Japan Discovery tour with TripADeal. Our guide Dragon was fabulous, with good stories and lots of knowledge. Our bus driver Fukarmi San was experienced and a lot of fun. My fellow passengers were great. If you are doing a budget tour such as TripADeal you need to be prepared to spend more on the optional tours and meals as breakfast is the only meal included. Good food in Japan is not expensive and everywhere. The accommodation was good, better than I expected given it was a budget tour. My disappointment is my flight to Japan was delayed and despite it being Day 1 of the tour and included in the price my transfer to the hotel did not happen. It was up to me to find my own way into Tokyo late at night and bear the cost. Further TripADeal provided the wrong information regarding the live flight tickets which only added to the confusion of the travel arrangements. Apart from the travel I really enjoyed the tour and the people who made it great.
A wonderful experience in Japan!
We recently had the most amazing experience in Japan! Our tour leader was Dragon- a very knowledgeable, organised and caring tour leader who went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. The country was beautiful, the group amazing and overall we loved it! Easy to book, well informed- one of the easiest holidays we have booked. We are now planning our next Trip a Deal holiday!
Beautiful Japan
Just returned from a tripadeal tour of Japan. It was excellent, I loved every minute, our tour guide Dragon went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly. He was very informative of all the places we went to.
I will definitely do more trips again with tripadeal.
Silk Road
How's this ?
We recently completed the 15 days Silk Road tour and had a very enjoyable experience. All the attractions listed in the itinerary were covered as promised, which we really appreciated.
We had three different tour guides and drivers throughout the trip, and all of them were professional, friendly, and helpful. The coaches provided was clean and comfortable, making the journey even more pleasant.
Overall, we were happy with the tour—it was well organised, delivered what it promised, and ticked all the boxes for us. 🙂
TripADeal is disappointing
My husband and I travelled on the TripADeal Sri Lanka and Maldives tour in early March. Sri Lanka is absolutely stunning, and the Maldives were undoubtedly the highlight of the trip. This was our first organised tour, so while I don’t have others to compare it to, based on this experience I wouldn’t recommend TripADeal—particularly for travellers departing from Perth.
To begin with, we were required to pay an additional $800 simply because we were flying from Perth rather than Sydney or Melbourne. This seemed unreasonable, especially given that Perth is significantly closer to Colombo.
Communication leading up to departure was also poor. We had to follow up multiple times for our flight details, which we didn’t receive until a few weeks prior to departure. When the itinerary finally arrived, it was incredibly disappointing. We were booked on a 6am flight from Perth to Melbourne—nearly four hours in the opposite direction to our destination, Columbo. Living 1.5 hours south of Perth, and with airport renovations requiring early arrival, this made for a very exhausting start. A 6am flight required us to leave home at 2.30am I was also surprised that despite TripADeal being OWNED by Qantas, we were booked on a Virgin Australia flight
I contacted TripADeal as soon as we received the flights to ask whether we could instead fly via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. I was told that changes might have been possible before tickets were issued, but at that point nothing could be done. This was frustrating, as we hadn’t been informed of the routing beforehand.
By the time we arrived in Colombo, we were completely exhausted. We then waited another 90 minutes for the Sydney group to arrive, followed by a 45-minute bus transfer to the hotel. It took several days to recover and start enjoying the holiday. Unfortunately, the return journey was always in the back of our minds especially knowing we had an additional two legs of travel (Ranahli - Male - Colombo - Melbourne - Perth .. approx 28 hours till we arrived home)
That said, our tour guide was exceptional and deserves high praise. Sri Lanka itself is a beautiful country, and we hope to return again one day.
While most hotels were lovely, the accommodation we were most excited about—Heritance Tea Factory—was changed without any prior notification. Instead, we stayed at Araliya Green City Hotel, which was average at best. Our room overlooked a dirty backyard and a petrol station, which was very disappointing given this was a key reason we chose to upgrade.
We were also travelling with another couple. Despite booking together and notifying TripADeal, our rooms were consistently far apart—often on different floors or even in separate blocks of the hotel.
Overall, while we loved the destinations, we were extremely disappointed with TripADeal. It felt like the focus was on process rather than the actual experience of the travellers.
Scammed by the tour guide in China
Scammed by the tour guide in China. Held to ransom to buy an optional tour, if not I’d be left stranded. Lucky I speak Chinese and I told the tour guide where to go…then she proceeded to cancel the remainder of my tour…after day 2 and I was made to pay again my tickets, accom otherwise I’d be screwed…don’t do it!!!!!!
Experience of a Lifetime!
We highly recommend this small group luxury tour! It is fantastic value for money and the tour guides and accomodation and food were exemplary in Cape Town and Victoria Falls. Special shout out to the tour guides Abdullah and Ntokozo! The tour guides, drivers and accomodation staff made you feel very safe and secure at all times. Transfers were seemless. The whole tour was very well organised. It was great being in a small group and travelling in a van as opposed to a bus especially for those who are prone to travel sickness. Singapore Airlines were excellent and it was a bonus to be assigned seats with extra leg room. We really like how you get to choose from different optional activities to suit your needs and interests. The safari experiences were amazing and we saw so many animals up close. We would highly recommend Trip A Deal and this tour of South Africa and Victoria Falls and the optional day safari in Botswana.
No help when you need it
While our trip was amazing. Tripadeal did leave us out to dry when we had a flight delay meaning we were unable to get to a connecting flight. Our tour group of 7 were on 3 different flights (a grandmother and her grand daughter travelling together were on seperate flights). I along with 3 other travellers were left at an airport for over 5 hours, from 6pm until close to midnight trying to find our luggage and negotiate an alternative flight all while not speaking the language. Things were complicated because we didn’t book the flight, the flight was booked through an agent, Tripadeal. We were left in a foreign airport for hours, with lost luggage, no where to stay the night, unable to speak the language and unable to take action ourselves because Tripadeal booked the flights. Two of our party contacted Tripadeal and we were told to sort it out with the airline ourselves. We missed 24 hours of a two and a half day stay in Rio. This is our third Tripadeal trip and we have loved the price and itineraries but after this experience I will be looking into other agencies that have a proven record of assisting travellers not just a booking agent.
Tour of Japan.
Our guide Dragon and our driver were really good. We all had a really good time in Japan. There was a lot of traveling and we have loved to stay in some places more than one night. I would recommend the tour.
The people and the guide made it a great tour
We travel a lot and this was the first time we had gone on a tour. What made it such a great experience for us was the group of people we were travelling with and what a great tour guide we had. His name was Dragon and nothing was too much trouble for him. We learned so much about Japan while travelling around in the bus and the itinerary had the right balance of structured events and free time
