Horrible experience

Horrible experience! I arrived before departure time with my young child and bag/stroller and no bus in sight. I waited past my 9:30 and no bus showed up.

I ended up having to drive to Vamoose and catch a bus there. I would not recommend this bus service!

Worst decision ever, bus never showed up

Worst decision ever. Either the bus left early or never showed up at all even though we were on time and waiting, leaving us stranded in New York City. When I called customer service to explain, the agent giggled, was rude, and then hung up. They refused to answer our follow-up calls.

We travel to New York 4-5 times a year and decided to give TripperBus a try -- big mistake. The drivers were reckless and nearly caused several accidents on the way there.

We are now forced to dispute the charge with our credit card company. What a nightmare. No savings if you have to go through what we went through. Avoid this company at all costs -- or it may cost you more in the end.

Warning: Tripper Bus and Gunther Charters are one and the same. Don’t be misled into thinking they’re different companies—it’s the same outfit running both names, and the service is just as bad.

Our experience was a nightmare: the bus was late heading to New York, the driver sped dangerously and nearly caused accidents, and the return bus never even arrived. When we tried to get answers, all we got were excuses and the classic runaround.

At this point, we’ve disputed the charges with our credit card company and are making sure others know to avoid this operator. If you value your time, safety, and money, steer clear of this company and find another way to travel.,

experience

It was easy to get on the bus as the driver and the associate had an updated list of passengers. The driver, John, was very nice, helpful, friendly, and kind to passengers. The bus did not seem to have any power outlets, and the internet was not working appropriately. The ride was supposed to be 4.5 hours but lasted over 5.5 hours

It my first time riding a bus I asked…

It my first time riding a bus I asked him 100000 time is this bus going to Virginia beachhhhhhhh he said yes it was about to take off and I couldn’t purchase the ticket online I paid cash I was exhausted I slept immediately after 6 hours I found myself in Virginia Arlington 3hours away from my house in the middle of the night with Heavy bags and stayed a night in a stinky motel till the next day my husband came and picked me up

Not a good bus

I took bus from bethatha to NY. Bus stopped 20 min in Delaware to change driver . My reservation was 10.10 am and they changed it to 11.10 on day before dept . The bus was old . It take 6 hour to reach NY .

My experience with tripper bud

June 21 2019 going from Bethesda to NY.
Bus left 15 late. Then stopped to change the driver. .
Then again we stop for driver to go to bathroom.
We then stop because passenger complained of unclean toilet with no paper.
We still have 90 more minutes to NY. Let hope no more stop. I never ever use their service again

TRIPPER BUS LOST MY BAG AND NEVER REIMBURSED ME

I took a bus from NY to Arlington on Tripper Bus. When I got off the bus, my bag was missing. From my conversation with the driver, it appeared that my bag was in the "Bethesda" section and so was unloaded at Bethesda. However, the driver left without checking to see that all bags were picked up, and so my bag was left at Bethesda.

The worst part was, TRIPPER DID NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP. I called, and they never called back. I emailed, and they never replied. Instead of trying to help and/or reimburse me for my loss, they simply hid out of cowardice.

Do not take this bus - their management has poor ethical standards. I will surely not ride with them again.

Reviewd - Bus Nightmare

I was contacted by the company and they ensured me that the driver wont be driving for them anymore, so I have changed my review from 1 star.

Me and my wife took your buss from Manhattan Monday 11/14 -2016 at 5PM to Arlington VA. The bus driver was rude when we arrived and asked if we may enter the buss. His response was:” do I look like the bus driver???? I am the bus operator!” After we entered the buss he had put his jacket on the seat behind him and I then remembered him from my last nightmare trip from NY with your company. Then a person was sitting behind him and had to ask him to stop facebooking while he was driving and the driver started yelling at the guy. The driver was generally aggressive while driving, talking on the phone and arguing with whoever it was he was talking to. He was honking at other drivers and even kept his high beams on for 5 min because a car passed him. He was complaining on the phone that he was tired and made everyone feel unsafe. When we got to DC he rejoiced that someone was live streaming the game on Facebook and then he started watching the game while driving. When I confronted him about it he started yelling at me and lying to me that he was on waze which was an obvious lie since when he showed the phone the screen was black. I will tell all my friends about this experience and make sure that they all switch to greyhound in the future unless this driver is fired. He endangered all the passengers on the bus. I am sure you have gotten a ton of complains about this driver before and I’m horrified that he is still driving for your company. You should be ashamed of yourself !

Can be better if phone customer service have better staff

I booked a same day trip for my family for 3 sets, and somehow the system put one of the set in a different departure time, when I found out a week later I try to change it and the system canceled it, I have to pay higher price for it. And then I call the customer service, a woman answer the phone refused to help me book it back with the same price!

Update, After I email Tripperbus, a staff there name Fay reply me right away and offer me solution. I changed my review from 1 Star to 4 just for their email customer service.

Bad experience

Problems on the Travel

Unfortunately, I had some problems during the trip to New York with the Tripperbus:

- the air condicioner was not working. The driver tried to fix it but he was not able to do it
- the stop to change drivers took way too long. We waited for more than 20min for the new driver
- when we got to Penn Station it was raining and the driver throw our bags out of the bus on water pods without any kind of concern with our belongings
- the restroom in the bus from New York was dirty and smelly
