Not even out and administration already wants to prove itself VERY ill-tempered and pompous
(Basically X-posting.)
Although this site is not out yet, it is nonetheless involving more of the "cool kids' club" that makes up the userbase of TV Tropes, a group that thinks NOTHING of taking the plank out of their own eyes before doing something about the (however big) splinters in those of Fighteer's and FastEddie's. I'm able to testify to as much.
If you want to be quickly banned from the Discord for TropeHaven, then all you need to do is call out bad rules in MERELY ASSOCIATED Discord servers. This is the very thing that these people call out the Pokemon episode "Scent-scation" for: banning somebody from a given concept for an unrelated stance that doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the concept.
And what bad rule is worth protecting in TropeHaven's eyes? "No drama importation." Seems okay, until you realize how TV Tropes and its associates are willing to allow the content of one Magnus "Mangs" Hestveen, a hostile and remorseless girl pleasures assailant, without raising an eyebrow. This is a case of a Happiness Is Mandatory policy that only serves to leave readers uninformed of critical details they should know about works about their "entertainment", which they already use as an excuse for slander campaigns against Vic Mignogna and JK Rowling anyway. "Mangs" does NOTHING to be uniquely good, only giving a userbase hell-bent on malicious harassment a rallying point. Want to make sure the discussion about this keeps going? You'll just be accused of being on a "crusade" against a problematic userbase who THEY are giving support, at best in willful ignorance.
What TropeHaven is doing, is alt-left mentality at its finest, when they won't even humor counterarguments. It's worth pointing out that "Mangs" and his toadies aren't even just "crusade targets" but rather, they're a THREAT. People are continually supporting the magnum opus of "Mangs", titled "Andaron Saga" and that work is a case of the pen revealing the maker by endorsing hostile behaviors, with the most notable message of that inane work being that women apparently should just submit to being cheap toys or they are worth mocking for daring to challenge men who don't give a damn about Death By Childbirth. It's worth noting before I saw points like this, how with my "Project Guardcharm" work, an integral Manic Pixie Dream Girl was already intended to do what would almost assuredly fulfill the "magnificent" half of Magnificent Baddie, simply because of story design, so when I see things like the reports about "Andaron Saga" objectifying women, there's a reason why I'm thankful the Genki Girl archetype provides enough material for setting up the "baddie" half, when I get something to work with to avoid the "Mangs" toadies just milking my intended magnum opus to make things worse. Does TropeHaven's administration care about points like that? NO! All they care about is the status quo, no matter how broken it is.
It is worth noting that TropeHaven's administration are women. As I'm implying above, if women want to be wary about us guys, that at least is their choice and I have no reason to protest that actively, no matter how tiring it becomes when NOBODY wants to stand up for the little guy and believe me do I get tired of that problem being stuck on government income and stuck dealing with toxic (female by the way) family members who victim blame me when I get subjected to police brutality for trying to protect my dad's ashes. Where I take issue, then, is when we have these people wanting to hijack the very concept of tropes by pulling dictatorship. All they're doing is destroying the creativity of tropes.
This isn't about some "niche" nasty person who, if he IS that in the stretch it is, would be punching outside his weight class. This is about TropeHaven's conduct, their willingness to pull the same practices that they (however rightfully) accuse Fighteer of doing, with no attempt at self-reflection.
