I've been slowly stocking my dream tank using plants and substrates from here throughout the last months and today finally had my livestock to complete the final piece. Delighted with the service and locally delivered to my door with 5* communication 2 days before christmas! Thanks again guys!

Bought 4-5 cm fish , sent out fish under 2cm i even have photo evidence , not interested in rectifying, monkey outfit bunch of wronguns ,

Clutching at straws here arnt you , no swearing was made whatsoever you try fobbing me off saying you send me pictures of fish in your tank with a tape measure which is completely irrelevant as ones you sent me are all under 28mm I payed for 40 to 50mm , the reason I ordered specifically from your company was because of the size advertised , I've had to give them away free on fb as 28mm fish will be eaten in my tank , thanks for nothing , false advertising !

Tropical Supplies has now become the go to place my partner and I shop to feed our fish addiction. Their fish and stock is always top quality and the lads go above and beyond to find whatever we need despite being specific. Even so much so they posted on Facebook to try and find me to tell me the betta of my dreams had come in, and reserved him for me without even knowing if I’d see the post. The prices and reward system is great and the plants have been the healthiest we’ve had (and we’ve shopped in a few places before coming here). The lads always welcome us in, take an interest in our plans and we always end up coming out with armfuls of things. The shop itself is child friendly, with a table and colouring/toys for little ones and sofas which made shopping with a very active toddler a breeze. They sell drinks too so it is like a one stop shop, and the car park is just right outside. Furthermore, the fish stock is endless with tonnes of unique fish. I honestly could not recommend this place and the knowledgable staff enough. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now.

My first time visiting this beautiful shop. I thought I knew every aquatic shop in the North East but found this place by chance. Well worth a visit. Gorgeous set ups for the fish which show them at their best. I particularly liked the Mbuna tank. I’ve kept tropical fish for 60 years and still found fish I’d never seen before. My new go to shop.

Disappointing Experience Despite Quick Customer Support

We recently placed an order over £200 with Tropical Supplies, including some tetras and a royal pleco. Unfortunately, the condition they arrived in was concerning. The box was damaged, the tetras were stressed, and the pleco’s bag was not only deflated but had barely any water in it. While the pleco is currently doing okay, we were initially worried for its health.

Customer service was responsive and offered advice on how to help the fish settle. However, when we asked for a partial refund or a goodwill gesture—like a discount on a future order—they declined, saying that because the fish arrived alive, no compensation was warranted. We understand live fish shipments can have challenges, but a small gesture would have shown care for customer satisfaction, especially given the order value.

We appreciate the assistance provided, but this experience was disappointing overall. We’ll likely consider other suppliers for future purchases and hope this review helps others set their expectations.

On further messaging The company did express a willingness to offer a care package or additional fish for a future order, which we appreciate. Ultimately, while we received help after reaching out, the initial experience was disappointing and has made us hesitant to reorder in the future.

My kids are getting bored of me looking at fish in pet shops, but they both absolutely love this place. Went in today to buy fish and the kids had a "treasure hunt" thing to do which meant I could look at what I was wanting, they loved finding all the things on the list and I had some peace! The lad that runs the place has absolutely nailed how to run this business and he is totally spot on, very knowledgeable/helpful and a really nice lad (as are they other lads there). It's quite a journey for us to get there but it's 100% worth it for the huge selection of different species, always clean and very decent prices.
Tropical Supplies North East is not like any other pet (fish) shop, there is nothing else like it that I have been to.

Had a bump in the road but he rang me and we resolved it ,good guy ,appreciated the phone call,will order from this place again and recommend this shop to other's 👍

Bought some new fish, asked for advice about the safety of current fish and was met with an attitude and wrong information. Obviously not very knowledgable of the species they sell as they ended up attacking my current fish.

Sorry but marine fish very bad dying fish, most fish imaciated past the point of no return sorry to be negitive but its the truth take them off sale untill you sort tbe problem in your system again sorry about a bad report

Well what can I say about tropical supplies north east the whole place absolutely brilliant helpful and friendly stuff new to saltwater fish didn't have a clue and the team helped with every I need to know Dan the owner worked really hard to get the shop the way it is from his small little shop to his big one you see today always coming up with new ideas from his competition he puts on from time to time to his sales to the loyalty points and to be honest I think he's got the cheapest marines fish around so going see for yourself how great the place is I'll probably missing out but just excellent

Top guy the owner, staff all know what they are talking about with primary concern for the fish wellbeing over sale. Recommend this shop 100% always well stocked. If they don’t it they will get it for you.

Very good marine dept. Keith is endlessly patient explaining everything you need to know. Equipment prices very competitive.

Been going to TSNE since it first opened, excellent shop and helpful staff. Best shop in the North East, been to pretty much all of them and now only really use these, highly recommend!
