the few times that I needed help from this insurance company I was turned down each time. You start asking yourself why you keep paying these premiums every month. I changed Insurance company to the highest listed by customers in Sweden instead.

Have been a client of Trygg Hansa for 4 years, and the time when I need their help, I spend more than a month trying to even get to talk to someone, every time being transferred to a different department, and absolutely zero interest in my needs. Horrible horrible service, don't recommend to anyone.
Sandra Custodio in the foreign claims department is a true example of excellent customer service. She has just been amazing at solving a minor incident involving our car while we were on our summer vacation in Barcelona.
really crappy customer service and next to impossible to cancel. They send erroneous bills in spite of their customer service acknowledging that they should cancel all bills to me. My recommendation is to use Hedvig instead.
I didn't have any issues with my home insurance with Trygg-Hansa. I left just because I found cheaper one.
Trygg Hansa is the worst company I have been dealing with in Sweden.
Two things they do:
- If you have a claim, they will figure out many ways to avoid paying you, and they are the true expert on that.
- If you call them to terminate your contract, or simply ask for some explanations regarding your insurance, they will redirect you to a 30 - 90 min waiting queue and redirect again after this one cut in. (However if you want to buy some extra insurance from them you will cut in very quick and be warmly treated).
For the claim part I have unfortunately several cases with them on my house insurance:
1, My bike was stolen and it is covered by their insurance. They refuse to pay for my claim, due to that I cannot find the bike receipt. This is fine for me because I have my other apartment insured by IF and when I try to claim with them, IF very quickly settled the payment.
2, My cooking plant got burned by short circuit, I bought extra electric appliance insurance from Trygga Hansa so I claimed for the repair fee, 4700 kr. Then they quickly replied that my self-risk for electric appliance is 5000 kr and closed the case. But my self-risk for that is clearly stated as 1500 kr in the contract, when I pointing this to them they never answer my email anymore. And making a call to them regarding this? I tried with 60 mins and have to give up, all I got was endless re-directions and queues.
3, My trip was cancelled due to my son got chicken pox, Trygga Hansa asked 5 or 6 documents in two stages - yes when you manage to provide docs they ask for, they come with some new documents you need to provide.
They asked for doctor's prove, which I got from KI with a very long waiting, then they later refused to pay for my claim, because they said I didn't provide the cancellation for hotel. But the hotel booking is not possible to cancel, and if I can cancel that there will be no expense I need to claim.
Now the only thing I want to do is to terminate the contract with them, then I got trouble on that too. My call can not get through when they direct me to the department for cancellation, for about 5 hours' try in one week. Then finally when I cut in, they said I called in at wrong time! I must terminate the contract at the end of current calendar year, and call them within 45 days before the year ends. Call them too early or too late, you got another year's contract with them!
Impossible to get in contact with.
Insurance fees increase above the negotiated amount.
Hard to get rid of.
No return of overpaid money.
Their supplier destroyed my car
I pay Aktsam for my car insurance. Their supplier was supposed to fix a minor problem in the back door of our car but destroyed the entire upholstery on chairs and tailgate instead. They made us to pay for the insurance deductible anyway and did nothing for their vendor's misstake.
Horrible experience with Trygg Hansa and it's not over yet. Someone threw a stone the size of a melon through the drivers side wimdow one Sumday about 1 month ago in October. It took hours for TH to get a towtruck to come and it was near freezing outside. They said they had called a towtruck and it should take 30 min for them to arrive. An hour later the towteuxk driver calls me and says that TH had JUST contacted him and that it would take him another hour to get there. So TH lied. TH blamed everything on that it was Sunday and how things are more difficult then, but accidents and problems happen on Sundays too, and why are they not prepared for that? In the meantime while I was freezing outside and it got dark while I was waiting, I called several times to TH and argued for them NOT to habe the car towed further south od the city in suburbs farther away from where I live (as I live north of the city) but they said there was nothing they cld do. Then I had to call them several times amd DEMAND that they pay for taxi so I could get home with all the stuff that was in my car as it had to be emptied out (nothing was stolen, maybe because it was all hidden in the trunk). Note that I have an old car but have payed FULL coverage w TH f yrs, pkus an added coverage that I shld get rental car if my car is not driveble, but in this case they said that tjey cld not get a rental as it was Sunday. :( The next day the car co. said it would take weeks to get my car back, bit I made 30 phone calls and got them a window for my car and was able to pixk it up the nxt day. BUT it took TH 10 days!!! to process it through their system so I had to fork out the costs myself in the meantime. And constant fights with TH as they said they didn't know if my car was vandalizes or not! I sent them photos on Sun eve and the police report nr and all that they neeses, but no... I kept telling them that I didn't throw a volleyball sized rock into my own car, so someone else must have done. Was liking to morons each time. I payed for a taxi to go pixk up my car, they did not help with that. My coverage is supposed to pay for 100kr per day that I did not use a rental car, and I still nees to fight them for that too. But as the vandalizers peed(!) on my car, which I sent TH pics of, ot goes ro show that my car stinks inside too and they must have peed through the broken window too. So now I'm fighting TH to get them to pay for that too as that is part of the same incident. Yesterday thry suddenly want photos of the urinated areas inside the car. I was furious as the seats are dark and cloth, there is nothing to see or take photos of. I kept telling her she's habe to come and smell it and had she seen the photos of the urine stains all over the outside of the car as I sent those a month ago?! She didn't give in, and demands photos that I can not provide :( But a week ago they TH rep said it was being processed and it SHOULD not be a problem. What? I should feel secure as a customer that this will be taken care of!! But I don't at all.. It is taking forever and each person I speak to knows nothing, promises stuff but nothing happens, or are just outright rude! They all sound extremely young and some talk to me like I am 2 yrs old and with zero respect, it's disgusting. This whole experience is horrible and has taken forever and is still ongoing. I will need to take some coats and jackets to the cleaners as they stink afyer I have been in my car. TH said I need to tirn to my home insurance for that, and I'm thinking that will be another fight. It has also been a fight to get them to acknowledge this as a vandalization...Another headache. It should be a no-brainer. I have 6 insurances TH for the past 5 or so yrs, bit I will be leaving them now and never going back!! All my other problems, when I dropoed my phone, broken luggage during travel, roof coming off, car problems..never got any help. They always have excuses as to why they aren't liable to cover my damages :( Update is that they refuse to clenn the urine out of the car! I'm livid! And request to speak with a manager. TH's answer to that is to aend in an email!! I can't even speak to a manager 😠😠😠
Trygghansa is basically imposible to get in contact with. You can hang for half an hour in their callservice and then get connected. Their chatrobot just denies you and tells you to call them (which you cant).
You have to call them to terminate a contract (which is impossible).
I have never rated a company so poorly, but Trygghansa does all they can to deserve their low rating here - and everywhere else.

This is a company which will never help you out when you get in problems.
I will give my honest opinion and will give you two examples.
I got alopecia FD disease in worst form back in nov 2016 where i lost all hairs on head and face. i have had trygge hansa insurance since jan 2015 , Doctor gave me a "läkere intyg" and i got rejection from trygge hansa . Reason they giving is that i booked a meeting with doctor for inflammation back in start of january 2015 and made insurance two weeks later, remember that my alopecia was diagnosed 1 and half year after i made full insurance with trygg hansa.
2nd : i had a home insurance with them also which covers if you get assult by someone , i was working as a taxi driver in malmö where i got assulted by strangers/passengers . i got several body injuries , but for your surprise i got 0 kr for any compensation . It is importance to note that i have full health insurance with them , life insurance with them and home insurance which all covers "överfall" , and they just rejected it because they say that all these insurances does not cover assult if it happens on your job.. it is important to note that when i made a insurance they told me to take most expensive insurance incase if get injuries from job or get assult etc.
3: in 2018 i applied for compensation as i had problems with mold and fukt (mögel) in my apartment . my child health became very serious and i have been in contact with different hospitals and miljo forvaltning malmö , Miljoforvaltning malmö had visited me like more than 10 times and finally after 10 months took a decision against company owing the apartments . I had submitted " läkerintyg" for my child which is 1 years old. in doctor certificates it written clearly that my child have been "coughing" constantly for last 7 months and its because of mögel and fukt in the apartment.
Since my child was getting seriously ill and apartment had a bad indoor air so i moved 3 months to Denmark , 20 days in norway and 1 month in germany as i had no permanent place to go until miljoforvaltning malmö took a decision in my favour.
After so much suffering i got rejection from trygge hansa again , Remember that beside "home insurance" i have also my child insurance for health and accident with trygge hansa from the time he never came to this world(pregnancy insurance) .
I have all the documentation from miljo forvaltning and doctor certificates and other tests for my child which shows that it was very dangerous for my child to live in that apartment.
The reason which trygge hansa have given in this letter is "ONLY " that the documentation from miljoforvaltning malmö does not tell why the mögel and fukt came to the apartment....... Guys this is some really fraud company when it comes to pay you when you really needs it.... I can provide copy of the letters if any one need to prove. ... do you really think that a person have to explain how to mögel formed in the apartment. when i provide 8 documents from miljoforvaltning and documenation from the hosptial.
guys expect no help from them , i have my all family insurances with trygg hansa , i paid for whole year. if you ask me why i have not cancelled them , because trygg hansa dont want to return the money for the rest of months if i had paid for one year together .
Customer service is very bad. Spend around 30 mins to get answers for a general question and did not get it. Keep redirecting me back and forth and holing of the line.
Fine company if you dont need anything, and youre just a mind less sheep...
But, i were told about 5 times that I would pay my car insurrance monthly, and yet I never received any monthly payments, everytime I received half year payments.. call back in and they say sorry its a mistake and I shoud throw it away, and they would sent monthly insted..
Then finnally someone in there tells me I cannot get monthly payments, fair enough, they tell me insted of just saying "I will make it monthly.."
And then, if your car gets stolen its a completly other story..
I were told, 30 days from i reported it stolen, to they would look at the case, fair enough.. 2 weeks after the 30 days I would receive money, thats fair enough aswell..
Yet, It took them 4 months from the day was stolen to i received money.
Car was stolen in January, money received in april, (and they low balled the car extremely, and still fighting for the rest off the money for all the things the car accutally had on..)
I will, and i repeat.. I will NEVER have Trygg Hansa again.
