I was on an 8-week stay in Uganda and Zanzibar with Trymedics as a fourth-semester nursing student. It was an absolutely amazing experience, with the kindest coordinator, instructor, and fellow participants. No matter what situations we faced, there was always staff available to take care of us. The clinical placements at the hospitals were fantastic. It was worth every penny, and I’m grateful to have experienced Africa with Trymedics.

I have just been on the combined trip with 4 weeks in Uganda and 4 weeks on Zanzibar, as a nursing student. It has been an incredible trip with such great experiences - both at the hospitals and at our free time activities.
We have tried different departments and hospitals, and really gotten to know what it means to be a part of the health care system here, as well as my own values as a future nurse.
Besides that, the trips and adventures we have had in our free time are simply just incredible. Everything from bigger weekend trips, like going on safari, to the little everyday activities such as visiting market places, and meeting the locals.
All are things I’m going to bring with me in the future, as sweet memories and knowledge gained about me as a person and as a future nurse.

TryMedics is an amazing organization that is super safe and their students and pre-students' well-being is the first priority.
I choose a combination of 4 weeks in Uganda and 4 weeks on Zanzibar, which I highly recommend. It's a unique opportunity to visit both countries and learn so much about the different cultures.

I had the most unique and wonderful experience with Try Medics. I chose the combined stay, 4 weeks in Uganda and then 4 weeks in Zanzibar (which I highly recommend if possible). Everything from the experiences you receive at the hospital to the activities to the general experience of being in a different part of the world. The staff was super wonderful and helpful. I could not recommend this program anymore! This experience is something I will hold near and dear to my heart for all my time <3

An all over amazing experience traveling with trymedics! I spend 4 weeks in Uganda and they were fantastic - all the activities were super fun and full of culture. The hospital was a great learning possibility for a pre-student - they provided amazing and skilled mentors, who understood the level I was at and helped me learn a lot of new things:)
The staff in Uganda is incredibly helpful and sweet and the house gives good opportunities for getting to know the others on your trip!

I have had the best 4 weeks at Zanzibar with Try Medics. Looking back I now have unforgettable memories. I have learned a lot during the internship at the hospital. Besides that I enjoyed both the cultural-, sports- and nature activities.
I got a great insight in the culture both from the activities and my time at the hospital.
Celine and Nuru made the trip very speciel with their care, presence, sense of responsibility and way of making us feel comfortable.
The whole staff are very sweet and smiling.
The Try Medics house created a safe space, and has a wonderful garden, pool area and terrace.
I am grateful for the whole experience.
I can warmly recommend traveling to Zanzibar with Try Medics if you are interested in the medical field and would like to combine that with a social and cultural experience.

The trip to Zanzibar has been one of the best experiences I've had. It has been an adventure filled with exciting events every single day. Our coordinators, Victoria and Nour, along with the staff, have been nothing short of fantastic, creating a warm and homely atmosphere in the house. They were always ready to help if any issues arose.

My stay at TryMedics (4 weeks in Zanzibar) had been absolutely amazing. There was a clear structure which our lovely coordinators: Victoria and Nour, had planned. The staff at home was incredible welcoming, chill and nice to be around. They cared about making you feel at home and that all of our needs are fulfilled.
Our drivers: Abra Junior and Abra Senior were the best! They were always on standby, ready to drive us somewhere or pick us up. They were also very patient and indulgent (they have endured many hours of shouting and singing in the car:)
btw: they love Rihanna and Danish rap.

I already knew what I would like to study, but this stay had given me a new perspective and a new knowledge regarding the different apartments within medicine. I got a greater understanding of the culture, their way of doing things, the challenges when it comes to healthcare, resources etc. Overall, it’s a great environment with lovely mentors and pre-students.

Lastly, both Victoria and Nour are incredible✨
They are two thoughtful and warm-hearted people who, with their warmth and skill, has carried out an impressive task. They are extremely caring, attentive and dedicated and we could really feel that in both of them. With their patience, kindness and curiosity about who we are, they have created a nice and relaxed environment for us to get to know each other in. Many of us have felt that they have been both a sister and a leader and someone you could go to no matter what🌸thank you Victoria and Nour❤️

A fantastic month in Zanzibar! The program has been so good and I have seen/experienced more than I imagined. The mentors have been fantastic and especially the coordinators have been incredibly nice and welcoming and made sure that it has been good. Trymedics can be recommended to other students! It is an obvious opportunity to combine travel and education, where you experience things, so. you must not be able to imagine until you have been there yourself. I am a 7th semester nursing student and have therefore completed my education within six months, and feel that you get everything in your hands that you have the courage to do.🇹🇿

My trip to Zanzibar as a pre-student. It has been one of the best and most experience trips ever. I have learned so much at the hospital with the sweetest mentors ever! The staff and coordinator’s at the house just make you feel home. You are doing something new every day, so no day is boring.

My stay with trymedics in Zanzibar and Uganda (as a student) has given me new knowledge and understanding about cultures, individuals and the health challenges in different countries. Its a great environment and there was planned a lot of nice and well planned trips in the weekends.

I’ve always wanted to travels with try medics because I find it very comforting to not do anything yourself other than buying plane tickets. They’ll everything for you. Therefore when I was going for exchange I thought that try medics would be great. They lived up for my expectations and it has been the best 4 weeks <33 I’ve learned a lot both personallybut also professionally. What you should be aware of is that your days are filled with clinic, but also lots of activities which can be good, but also very exhausting.
All in all I would recommend try medics to my friends, relatives and others <33

My stay in Zanzibar with TryMedics has given me wider knowledge and understanding about cultures, individuals and the health challenges among different countries. TryMedics contributes to a very safe environment with amazing staff especially contact person, Celine who has been very helpfull, understanding and always available for us to contact.
We have been on lots of trips in the weekend, that all has been very good and well planned.

A great experience, that was everything I expected and more!

This has been a great experience! I’ve spent the last month in Uganda, and I have learned so much! The mentors have been great, and the staff at the house are the most amazing and kind people! If you are considering doing this internship, do it!

I have been in Uganda for 4 weeks and it has been the most amazing 4 weeks ever! Kisubi Hospital was a great experience with very good mentors and I have learned a lot! The staff is really amazing and are always there whenever you need them. Looking forward to another 4 weeks at Zanzibar!
