INSOFAST brand - Chinese knockoff ?

The INSOFAST brand product supplied was absolutely THE worst quality we have ever seen from a British company. Clearly all the material is subcontracted to a backstreet supplier in China. Heads were welded off-centre and/or tilted at an angle. Weld quality/penetration was abysmal. Many heads came off during installation no matter the care/diligence requiring the stub to be beaten in and the hole redrilled. Success was only achieved by selecting the best out of a batch and discarding the others (so 4 out of 20 looked good but not guaranteed). Order was for 7 packets x 20 (105mm + 125mm). Rubbish - don't buy this awful product.

Not fit for purpose

Ordered Twistfix brick repair kit. What turned up was a small pack of brick dust/resin and a dispensing syringe. The syringe is about the cheapest plastic dispenser available and obviously not fit for purpose but I preservered. To mix the dust to the recommended strength it will not pass through the small syringe opening and to make it pass the dust would need so much water added that it would be useless and not stay in the crack - just wash out. So it's £50 plus for a couple of ounces of brisk dust that one has to trowel in the crack. Suggest the directors of the company try out the product before inflicting it on an unsuspecting British company. 70 per cent 'excellent reviews'?

Poorly engineered product

Poorly engineered. I bought a plastic anchor to mechanically fix insulation panels to a brick wall. SPIT ISO or FISCHER DIPK are the same in principle. In practice, however, this is far worse. The anchor itself is okay, but the nail is a very loose fit, leading to inconsistent expansion of the anchor. The SPIT nail is made from a more robust material (GRP) to withstand MORE hammering, it being a much tighter fit and therefore delivering more consistent expansion within the brick. The serrations on the nail also add to the pulling resistance. A much more reliable fixing.

This twistfix nail looks like it's simply extruded plastic. The ejection points are so large they stand proud of the nail shank, so it's these that are expanding the anchor, not the nail, rendering the serrations on the nail pointless because they're not even making contact with the anchor!

The last thing I want to be doing is doubting whether 50sqm of panels will be sufficiently restrained by this fixing. Made a mistake in thinking these would be an equal to the SPIT fixing because the cost pretty much the same.

Furthermore, the pictures of the product on the website are either of an older iteration or of another product entirely.

For a company specialising in this kinda of fixing, this is a poor showing.

crack repair epoxy resin injection system does what it says

I ordered the crack repair epoxy resin injection system. next day delivery via DPD - spot on as I needed it urgently before plasterer came.
customer service was great. too bad calls are charged at 0845 rate.
the product itself (hardner and base) is great.
the injection system is pretty easy to use. but the instructions are not very clear - so make sure you use the "extraction" plate in the correct position to insert the resin into the cartridge. then use it within 10-15min. I was not able to use the last 15-20% of the resin because it hardened. the needle is made of plastic which is useful but it will break easily (mine bent many times and failed at the last moment). the package should containe more needles and clearer instructions (maybe with some additional photos). the hardner must be well mixed with the base until the paste is smooth and with consistent texture. pleased with the product. price should be way lower in my opinion, as £50 for 300ml is a lot.

Ordered 5kg filler received 1kg…

Ordered 5kg filler received 1kg instead. Called customer services. They have sent a new order. a few weeks later got a phone bill with an extra £5 for calling them. This is ridiculous. Get the proper number, you petty thieves.

Tanking membrane. Amazing

I purchased the tanking membrane to waterproof a wall of a shed that was built into a hill and had high ground at the back.
I dug a channel at base and fitted a gutter to run outside to a lower level.
The wall was completely wet and ran down and out the floor i could not store anything in shed as floor was saturated.
The shed is now completely dry. Delighted

Easy online ordering process, fast delivery.

Easy online ordering process. Very prompt delivery to Ireland and at a reasonable ( i.e. non-inflated! ) postal cost. Since product only arrived today I have yet to use but initial inspection is pleasing. Robust looking product - remedial wall ties. Let's hope it works. Will post an update in due course.

Have installed product and I can confirm they are fantastic. Simple matter of drilling hole through both leaves of cavity wall (long drill bit supplied with kit I bought, be sure to mark so you don't drill right through inner leaf) and fix using the hammer action on a hammer drill.

Would definitely recommend.

Brick crack repair kit £223. Grout and ten bars

I have a large brick building to repair. This purchase was a trial. The product appears far too expensive.

I would like to completely understand what items I need for further repairs and a price and delivery basis that is better

A direct contact from the supplier and site visit would be welcome
