Screenshot ability removed. Courses no longer fit for purpose.

Once useful, but no longer fit for purpose as Udemy have removed the ability to take screenshots, so students cannot make their own annotated notes on slides, infographics, diagrams etc. Can you imagine a collage course where students are not allowed to have the slides or to write on them? Udemy instead advise users just to use their lame in house notes feature which is no match. This is not a serious approach to learning and Udemy should be ashamed.

Deceptive Practices and Outdated Courses

Many of the courses currently on offer are outdated. With some courses, it's not clear until after you've enrolled how long it's been since a course was posted or updated. This lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially with subjects like IT and AI where things change all the time.

Some "courses" are clearly just thinly veiled advertizements to get you to go to the presenter's own website and buy their actually courses.

Some of the presenters have quite poor English skills and the closed captioning can be of such poor quality that it doesn't help to clarify anything.

Course I paid for removed, no refund.

Bought a course a few weeks back to prep for an exam. Watched a bit of it. Come back now the course has gone and because I watched a certain amount of it, no refund.

I'm sure there will be some small print in their T&Cs that says they can remove courses at any time but I didnt know this and now that I do I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Great to take course bad for tech support

Great to take course bad for tech support.
It has been a great source to learn the domains that I am interested on. I can send questions to the people who teach, and they have always answered. Some teachers answers are weak, but must of them are good. It's also a very economic source when they have discount ($14-20) per full course. I also love the fact that people has access forever. Another advantage is that, you can work with real things and not virtual like datacamp.com.
The cons is the tech support thus I have not found a way to find answers from people. I have only seen bad opinions about tech support and refunds. I've never try refund, but I believe more on customers than in companies, so I assume it's terrible for that. If it was good on it, I would evaluate it with 5 starts.

I’m currently confused and frustrated…

I’m currently confused and frustrated with Udemy’s policies. They’ve disabled my instructor account without providing a clear explanation, simply stating it was a final decision. I believe this is unfair—such actions should be backed by evidence. To the best of my knowledge, we used the platform legitimately, offering both purchased and instructor-led courses. Now, I’m unable to access anything, and they vaguely cite 'unauthorized activities' without clarification.

This experience has been deeply disappointing. I urge others to be cautious—don’t assume that just because it’s a well-known marketplace, it guarantees fair treatment. Consider platforms that at least provide warnings or clear communication before taking such drastic actions. Be careful—this feels more like a trap than a partnership

Terribly bad practice package and no support

Got a simple 10 euro practice package for a certificate i needed to get (Foundation Business Analysis). The questions were terribly bad and nothing like the real exam. Looks like the whole site is AI generated. No way to get in touch with support, just a chat bot. Would def not recommend.

Really low quality courses

Really low quality courses, the lowest of almost any place you could even buy courses. Time lapses, non-english speakers, they let anybody make and sell courses with no over sight or editing.

Good Courses, If You Shop Smart

Udemy has a massive library of courses on just about any topic you can imagine, and some of them are genuinely great. That said, it’s a bit of a mixed bag, so take your time to read the reviews and course outlines to make sure you’re getting quality content. Also, a word of advice—never pay full price. They run sales so often that the "original price" feels more like a suggestion. If you time it right, you can snag a $200 course for $15, which is really where the value lies. Overall, it’s a decent platform if you do your homework and wait for the right deal.

Good Online Learning Platform for Learning New Skills

I have been using udemy for a year now at this point of time Udemy offers an excellent variety of courses that are well-structured and easy to understand. The video lectures make learning convenient, allowing users to go at their own pace, revisit lessons whenever needed, and even adjust the playback speed up to 2X. Captions in different languages further enhance accessibility, making courses available to a global audience.

While some courses can be expensive, Udemy frequently hosts sales where prices drop by as much as 90%, making high-quality education highly affordable. A little patience in waiting for these sales can save learners a lot.

Another great perk is the Completion Certificate awarded after finishing a course, which adds credibility to your learning journey and can be a valuable addition to your resume or portfolio.

Overall, Udemy is a fantastic resource, especially for students looking to expand their knowledge and acquire new skills from home. Highly recommended!

30 day money back guarantee is full scam

30 day money back guarantee is full scam. If you open some of the lectures in the course to actually review if the course is good or not and find out that it ISN'T, Udemy blocks you from getting a refund because of "your viewing history you have watched TOO MUCH of this course"
I opened ticket ot support and they refunded me!

Some courses can be very good, however whole experience is let down by very poor or almost non existent support. By carefull what you purchase as you might not get any support from the platform if you have any issues.

Beware! Refund not possible

I signed up for a free trial as I want to see what’s good in the website. They failed to send me a reminder email that my trial is expiring, so as a result I was not able to cancel my free trial and got charged 6300 php! I reached out to their support and wow oh wow!! They won’t give a refund, such a scam taking people money instead of helping them! Their customer support is such a bad experience. It’s their failure to send an email to remind customers about their trial so that they can charge them money.

I purchased Master Microsoft Word…

I purchased Master Microsoft Word Beginner to Advanced (life access) 4 years ago and never got around to using it. Finally, I have time and even though I have been using Word since it was invented, I have been learning so much about all the things it can do. The instructor is very easy to understand. As I am not a beginner, I was able to put the speed of the instructor into double when he was talking about things I already knew, which saved me time.

➡️ Be careful what you buy

➡️ Be careful what you buy. Your “lifetime access” on Udemy is anything but guaranteed — your courses can disappear at any moment, and Udemy will wash their hands of it without giving you a single cent back.

For me, this is a serious loss of trust in the brand. The way they treat paying customers after the purchase is completely unacceptable. Think twice before spending your money there.
