several videos are not available

several videos are not available on one of the courses I am watching, when I tried to inform support about it in most polite manner, the only way to contact them is to chat with their incredibly stupid ai assistant that cannot handle anything

Refund refused.

Like the others, a 30 day refund was promised if the course was not satisfactory. I requested a refund within the hour of purchasing it. I was given credit for another course. No option of getting my money back. No way of getting past a chatbot that just says no cash back. Disgusting company. I will never buy another Udemy course.

Auto-refused refund after watching 4% of course

My refund request was denied by Udemy’s automated system, even though I have only watched 4% of the course “100 Days of Code: The Complete Python Pro Bootcamp”.

The rejection message stated that I had watched “too much of the course”, which is clearly not the case. I completed only 23 of 633 lessons, which amounts to roughly 4%.

I tried to contact support via the Help Center and Chatbot multiple times, but I am stuck in an endless loop and never get to speak with a human. I also emailed to udemy support and received a response that the mailbox is no longer monitored.

This situation is highly unfair and contradicts your 30-day refund policy. I kindly ask you to review my case and approve a manual refund.

Udemy, you’ve truly let me down.

I used to be a big fan of Udemy. Over the years, I bought more than 30 courses and genuinely got value from many of them. But after my recent experience, I’m extremely disappointed — and honestly feel cheated.

I purchased a new course that looked decent in the previews. But once I actually enrolled and started learning, I quickly realized it was terrible — low-value, outdated, and poorly delivered. So I did what any user would do: I requested a refund.

Then boom — I got hit with a message saying I’d “consumed too much of the course” and was no longer eligible for a refund. No exact percentage. No transparency. Just a vague rejection. At that time, I had only watched 8% of the course. Let me ask a basic question: how are we supposed to know a course is bad if we’re not allowed to watch enough to judge it?

Look, if you want to remove the 30-day guarantee altogether, fine — just be honest about it. Don’t pretend to offer a fair refund policy and then use hidden rules and technicalities to deny users who are genuinely disappointed. That’s not just misleading — it’s a betrayal of trust.

I didn’t just regret the course. I regretted the decision to trust Udemy again. And when I tried to fix it, you made me feel worse. You ruined my day over a few bucks and a broken promise.

If anyone asks me about Udemy from now on… well, I think you already know what I’ll say.

Suspended After Gift Refund–Ticket #10208728

My account was suspended even though I did nothing wrong.

A friend gifted me a course using the official "Gift this course" feature. Payment was made legally via his card.

Later, the course was automatically refunded by the system — not by me or him. Still, I was flagged for “abuse”.

I never added a card or did anything suspicious. I only accepted a legitimate gift.

I shared all proof (receipt, gift info, coupon) and even said they can delete the course — I’ll repurchase it myself.

Yet all I received was generic replies. No proper human review.

🎫 Ticket: 10208728

I ask for a fair escalation and manual review. Otherwise, I’ll consider next steps.

Disappointed.

Udemy's 30 day course refund is a lie and a scam

Before taking two courses, Udemy stated that there was a refund if I was not satisfied with the courses. The quality and depth of the courses I took on short term trading and trading options was at a child-like level. Some of the setups seemed more like a joke instead of a serious discussion of a strategy with an edge.
But even worse was to come when I applied to Udemy for a refund. The first refund was denied because I had already gone through 8 of the 24 units. I'd already looked at one third of the course so I could not be refunded!!!! How else could I get a fair idea that the course was consistently rubbish???
The excuse for the other course refund denial was that it was too close to the 30 day refund window!!!!!!! I had the refund expiry date in my calendar and thought is was okay to wait until a couple of days before.
Udemy must have a book full of pathetic refund denial excuses, and they never have any intention of refunding for any of their crappy courses. The stated 30 day refund they offer before you take their course is a lie and a scam.
The takeaway is, don't ever expect a refund if the course you take is a complete waste of time. And don't take any of their courses in the first place because from my own experience (and I've heard from others), most of their courses are complete beginners rubbish.
PS. Also, it's impossible to communicate with anyone directly in Udemy about anything, so they know they're crap too.

'30-Day Money-Back Guarantee' is just marketing tactic

I saw '30-Day Money-Back Guarantee', purhcase course and i skimmed through the course.

After 1 day I wanted a refund as I beleive it does not provide much value, but it says i have watched too much and can't refund, then refund option is marketing tactic and actually if you exceed certain limit of course it makes you ineligible for refund.

I contact support as I purchased multiple courses previously, i was given an exception in this case, 3 starts for that.

Used to be great, but there are login issues

Used to be great, but now I have to log in daily. It's so annoying. The passwordless login is crap and needs binning. I'm so sick of having to get a code from email and input it. My browser stores my passwords and everything works fine, but for some reason Udemy think they know best. It's such a rubbish customer experience.

Don’t hesitate to contact support, they really help

I’ve only had positive experiences with Udemy’s support team.

Once, I bought several courses and the next day there was a discount — they actually refunded me the price difference! I’ve also requested refunds a few times for courses I started and didn’t enjoy — and always got my money back quickly.

Be aware that you may not receive a refund

I did not think that I will need to fight on the course refund. The courses are offered with 30 day money back guarantee, but in reality they turn down your requests claiming that you consumed too much of the content. Note: they do not tell you up-front that there's a certain threshold, tricking you into buying it. In my case it was 25% if course, that included a free preview and click-through videos.
So, the system automatically refused the refund. I tried sending an email to support, bit they redirected me to the chatbot on site. The chatbot gave canned answers and directed me back to the email support. Dead end. No one to talk to.
And of course, a reason for refund was the poor quality of the course. So, think twice before you buy

Shocking

Shockingly bad product, refund that was promised never materialised even after chasing customer service twice. First time around they told me I have to wait 30 days until making a claim, then when I reached back out a month later they told me it's too late now to make a claim, even though I had followed the correct process. Absolute scam and I actually can't believe this company even still exists and hasn't been shut down for fraud.

I’ve purchased several courses on…

I’ve purchased several courses on Udemy, hoping to improve my skills, but overall I haven’t been satisfied with the quality. Recently, I bought another course where the tutor clearly mentioned a “30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.” However, once I reached around 40% of the course, I found that the instructor mostly just showed code with minimal explanation. I couldn’t understand the concepts and felt it wasn’t worth continuing.

When I requested a refund so I could try a different course, Udemy rejected it, stating I had already watched too much—despite the clear promise of a “no questions asked” refund. This was very disappointing.

I’ve had similar issues with other courses too. The content often doesn't meet expectations, and the teaching style is not beginner-friendly. I expected more consistency in quality and better support when something doesn’t work out. I’m now hesitant to invest in more Udemy courses.

Misleading Pricing & Poor Customer Service

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Udemy.

My son, a student with no current income, signed up for their monthly subscription and was charged £27/month. The only alternative offered was £22/month if he committed to an annual plan costing £264. This is completely inconsistent with the pricing advertised on their website - which clearly states an annual plan is $144/year ($12/month).

I have emailed them multiple times, and despite raising this issue politely and clearly, I have received no response whatsoever.

As the person paying for the subscription, I feel deceived by this pricing structure and let down by their lack of accountability. For a company that markets itself as an accessible online education platform, this experience has been a huge letdown.

I will no longer recommend Udemy to anyone and will be actively exploring alternative platforms with fairer pricing and better customer care.
