I feel completely misled by Udio. I subscribed specifically because the platform advertised that I could DOWNLOAD my creations. After I paid, Udio removed the download feature without any prior notice — the main reason I subscribed in the first place.

On top of that:

There is no button to cancel the subscription anywhere in my account.

Udio offers no refund options, even though they changed a core feature of the service after customers paid.

They removed downloads AFTER users had already created content, leaving me unable to access my own work.

Hiding the cancellation option effectively traps users into continued billing, which feels abusive and unacceptable.

I am requesting:

Immediate cancellation of my subscription.

A full refund, since the service no longer provides what was originally offered.

Temporary access to download my existing creations, which were made when the feature was still available.

A clear explanation of why the download feature was removed after payment and why the cancel option is not visible.

This experience has been extremely disappointing and feels like deceptive practice. I expect Udio to resolve this immediately.

Their support finally actioned on the refund and thus world order was restored.

Original review: Requested a refund, 1 hour after trying and failing to use the service. Not only did they ignore the request, the subscription continued and i was charged again.

Their cancellation flow is literally begging for your money. It's a clear sign that customers are running faster than the speed of sound from this business.

Steer clear.

Bait and switch! Created TONS of songs, then suddenly, they don't allow users to download anymore, AFTER I paid with downloading being one of the features that got me to sign up!

Scumbags!

You can´t download the songs you created anymore. I hope udio breaks down completely soon.

No way to download. As an author with paid subscription I don't have access to my tracks.

Two weeks ago I subscibed to this ai tool, and just now they removed the option to download the music peice that I generate, so I can no longer continue to be creative in my own music software. Scammers !!

So many issues with Udio but the credits system they use is very misleading....they base it on your songs are 30 seconds long..yes 30 seconds! What a joke...that reason alone should ring alarm bells but the truth is they are even worse than Suno.ai

A year ago when the first launched the site generated great music. Then they were hit with a lawsuit and the quality of output went off a cliff. it sounds terrible now. I just signed up again after a break, tried it, and canceled immediately in disgust. Their reddit forum is also terrible, anyone gets attacked for providing anything less than stellar feedback. There music is riddled with artifacts. Quality is tinny. Voices robotic, off key, and cringeworthy. Gibberish lyrics. cant stick to input lyrics. Just awful

I used the Udio AI Music Generator because it has so many features. I started with the trial version, quickly realized I would not have time to spend on it, and ended the trial version (without finalizing any AI generated songs). Likewise, I thought I ended the trial period in time, only to learn that the regulations for trial periods including and excluding days differ from country to country and is different in Germany comparing to the UK and probably the US. When I got billed, I wrote a quite raged email explaining all the above. The Udio customer service replied soon afterwards in a very kind manner and I got the whole payment refunded without any complaint from them. Considering the great options the application has to offer and then such a kind and trustworthy customer service (thx to Shane), I would give more than five stars, if I could.

I paid for a year’s subscription since that’s all they offer. Buyer beware though: they give you a breakdown of how much the service is monthly; however, the subscription is billed annually. The money has been taken from my account, but I have no credits and my Udio profile indicates I have a ‘free’ account. Ridiculous. I’ll be reporting this to the FTC and BBB, as well as submitting a fraud claim to my bank.

I started a free trial then canceled just before they auto-renew the subscription. But guess what, they took 96 usd from me without emailing me that I am close to getting auto charged and they did the yearly subscription, I wouldn’t recommend subscribing to this website as it might do the same to you, and I want a refund cuz 96 USD isn’t easy to get

I have subscribed for monthly payment, udio.com charged me for one year, no confirmation, they simply took the $.
Now i hope that they give refund...
Strange to see that in USA the online payment have this low security, have no idea when i can complain about.

Had good potential, but in the end...

It generates poor quality music and doesn't do what it's told to do. Don't waste your money on something like this, it's not worth it.

I subscribed but did not receive any credits, reaching out to them did not solve anything, they just went silent, report them to the FTC like I did if they did the same to you, they need to get sued.

Udio could be much more useful if it didn't fantasize all the time as the music is being composed. There is hardly ever a repeating refrain and vocals soon become utter gibberish: a concatenation of broken words. It is as if the composer is experimenting all the time with new pieces of music. Udio is not for me.

I signed up to Udio for a month back in December to test out some of the more advanced features however ultimately decided it wasn't for me.

I received an email this week which offered me 50% off a 3 month subscription. I clicked the link in the email to see how much that would cost and if there were any additional details, however it charged me straight away without ANY confirmation message or anything.
It also signed me up to the regular $10 a month plan giving me no discount whatsoever.

Thankfully I was able to cancel straight away, but this is frankly unacceptable behavior and a failure to put any safeguards in place for something like this is pretty inexcusable for a tech company.

Wish i could give 2,5 stars. Here is why; Have been using the paid version for two months now. Was happy with it in the beginning. Also have created a few really cool things with it. Last few weeks though it's a lot of hit and miss; Mostly miss. Less creative, harder to keep parts 'constant'. Ignores prompt more often(female instead of male, vocals on instrumental etc). Pronounces easy words wrong etc. To the point that it becomes annoying instead of fun to work with.

Udio have a lot to work on before I will pay to use this! The prompts don't sound anything like the ones I inputted and it gave me a female vocal when I prompted a male one. My lyrics also didn't scan properly with rushed lines and falling on the wrong bars. I was keen to explore making ai music but am very disappointed with the results. Get to work Udio and try to entice musicians like me back with vastly improved features. The ball is in your court!
