Walked into A & E at 10pm, waiting time said 6 hours. Did not see a nurse until 2am. Then back to waiting room, 10am(ish) had chest Xray, then back to waiting room to wait to be seen by a doctor. 17 h... See more

Pettiness

Phoned to cancel an appointment that I would be unable to attend due to it's location, and an unreliable public transport system.

UHCW has also cancelled a telephone appointment that was going to be in October, and discharged me without explanation.

Excellent care for my mum

The hospital staff were wonderful and always did their best for my mum. They kept us all informed about her condition. They were helpful and the hospital was clean and tidy. I am very grateful to everyone there.

Find a Proper Doctor

Thanks to my incompetent, lying consultant deliberately withholding treatment my condition is far worse than it was. It is a shame that UHCW consider psychopaths to be a good choice, to not only be consultants, but also be tutors to the next generation of doctors. I love the NHS but it is time that it is scrapped and those that choose to actually care about patients be allowed to show the overpaid, incompetent liars that are happy to defraud taxpayers that UHCW employ what patient care actually is.
They then employ a team of inept liars to cover up for this.
I am sure that UHCW would be happy to publish exactly how much money they spend on patient care and to confirm to taxpayers that they are actually worthwhile and do not spend more money on inept liars covering up just how appalling they are.

A&E waiting times

Waiting times are a disaster. Man waited over 20 hours in A&E recently (within the last 24 hours) with difficulty breathing. After 20 hours sitting with no one seeing him, he gave up waiting and went home and promptly dropped dead. That's what your "caring sharing, quality of service and patients are our focus" (according to the posters you see when you walk in the main entrance) NHS Trust does for you. What they do is evaluate you. If you are elderly, obese or a smoker, you'll find yourself at the very end of the queue as in thier opinion you contributed to your own ill health and precious resources can be used more effectively on someone else. This is how they manage the pressure on the system. A doctor told me this about UHCW Coventry "The only way you will get anything from this hospital is to fight for it"

Disgraceful

Disgraceful. Phoned main number 18 times and it rings out until it cuts you off!! Answered 18th attempt, asked to be put through to X-ray, phone rang for 25 minutes and still no answer so drove there as needed urgent X-ray, 3 girls on reception each with a phone next to them🙄 obviously just ignoring calls! Very rude and unhelpful, turned us away saying form from GP was not acceptable. Went private in end, much more reliable and friendly service. Shameful!!

They call the shots !!!!

I'm disappointed by the reception I receive after receiving a letter this morning asking to see me in 2 weeks time pre an operation for 1 month.
I currently work & being self employed after my operation won't receive any monies however your staff think that it is acceptable practice for me to drop everything or have my operation cancelled which I have been waiting for.....for 3 years. I have seen the surgeon whom I thought was completing the operation numerous times, to be told this morning, he is retired! would it not have been advisable to have contacted sooner with this information? can the new surgeon not review previously notes and records of mine? so because the appt is 11.30am I have to cancel yet another day's pay to attend the appointment or have the whole operation cancelled! but it was only to cancel my operation at your convenience due to a junior doctors strike recently....I believe you all still get paid when you are off sick. Perhaps common courtesy wouldn't go a miss.

ELDERLY RELATIVES BEWARE

My family has had very good treatment at University Hospital, Walsgrave, Coventry, over the years.
But our most recent experience with my elderly father who suffered minor fall and broken hip was a total nightmare, exposing wildly abusive practice now subject to extensive litigation.
Basically, he was deconditioned from the point of admission by failing to give his prescribed medications, surgery was wrongfully and unlawfully obstructed, and he was then unlawfully placed on a death path-way, with unlawful restrictions in provision of care & treatment, failure to monitor and respond to any obvious complication, and damaging interventions and dehydration imposed, causing severe harm, suffering and death.
We weren't told any of this at the time, everything was undisclosed and imposed secretively, that is unlawful. Be warned.
