Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the exchange rates, describing them as extremely poor and feeling that they received poor value. People frequently reported being charged much higher prices than expected for currency exchanges, often encountering fees or commissions that were not clearly disclosed. This led to a strong sense of being overcharged and dissatisfaction with the overall value. Conversely, some people were satisfied with the staff, specifically mentioning individuals who were helpful, polite, and provided professional service. However, the majority of consumers found the overall service to be terrible, with a lack of transparency regarding rates and a general feeling of not having clear information, particularly at airport locations.

Currency Exchange in Harrods

We needed to exchange US dollars for pounds and we were in Harrods. We exchanged our dollars and asked if e-sims were sold as well. Free WiFi and our cellphone carrier international service wasn’t working for us. We bought 2 e-sims. Cristina installed the e-sims on both our phones and doubled checked the process with her Support Team over the phone. She also explained that the reception in the lower ground floor was poor to non-existent and that we should see a difference once we got to a better location. We came back today to exchange additional currency. Thank you Cristina my husband and I appreciate the time and effort you took which has made our time in London easier

Change group ripoff

I used this service at Dublin airport. I was waylaid by their statement that they dont charge for using their service. I was appalled to see that the rate was £1.00 equals .8805 cents. a direct reversal of what the rate should be. This is a ripoff and this company should be shown for what they are!!

This is a criminal organisation

This is a criminal organisation. They show an exchange rate that appears normal and then apply it in reverse. The result is they charge approx. £30 to get 100€. I am referring this criminal organisation to the Financial Conduct Authority.

Appalling rates avoid at all costs

Absolute disgrace. US dollar at 1.3 to the pound, and they offer less than 1:1 plus commission so that 150 usd comes out at over £160 ( which should result in over 200usd.) daylight robbery - exchange rates nowhere near in line with other companies on the day. Travelex charging £118 for 150 usd, for example. Customers should complain to Gatwick airport.

!!AVOID ABSOLUTELY!!!

I have been traveling for many years, I have never had exchange problems with any company, but this is truly
scandalous exchange rates so low…. terribly low!!!!! This was happened in Gatwick airport in London, be careful because they are not even exposed the exchange rates they do everything quickly do not even sell account. They even managed to cheat me, unfortunately I had to change the money quickly, only realizing it after the bill, be careful do not go to these people and if you can change your money within the city in banks or even in shops in the city! it is truly a ruin for the airport of Gatwick in London, which should be the flagship of the English capital, a huge disappointment the airport should intervene the state should make its voice heard because in this way they lose customers and credibility

Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs.

The machines claim it’s no commission you won’t be charged, but where they catch you is that they’ve fiddled with the exchange rate so you get hit.

100 euros cost me £115, it should have only cost £85.

All the signs saying ‘buy back guarantee’ are a lie , they won’t honour it from the ATM withdrawals so once you’ve withdrawn you’re stuck

What a rip-off

What a rip-off! Like others here I was charged £113.94 for 100 EURO at an exchange rate of £1 to 0.8777! I'm shocked as the exchange rate is for 100 Euros should have only cost £83.31 as the rate is currently £1 to 1.1999 euros. So they charged me £30.63 for 100 Euros. Disgusting bunch of crooks. Gatwick Airport shame on you for allowing this.

Absolute crooks

Absolute crooks! DO NOT use these people as they are complete rip off merchants. I exchanged Pounds for Euros at Luton Airport, stupidly on my part not double checking the rates they were offering just thinking they were a reputable company. Wow was that a mistake! 0.85 euros to the pound. £600 worth! I only realized once through the security gate.

Gatwick airport should close them down
Looking at the other comments Gatwick Airport authorities must know this is an issue and refuse to sort - I assume they are getting a big “rent”…….
