Evaluating 99 reviews, reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently found the service to be professional, fast, and efficient, making the repair process straightforward and easy from start to finish. Many appreciated the clear communication, regular updates, and reasonable pricing, often noting that repairs saved them from buying new items. People were pleased with the quick turnaround times and the high quality of the repairs, with products returned working perfectly. However, some people mentioned issues with repairs not fully resolving the problem, with items being returned still faulty, damaged, or with new issues. A few other people also felt that pricing was unclear, citing unexpected charges, high diagnostic fees, or significantly increased quotes after initial estimates were provided.

Not a good service at all

Not a good service at all. Did half the job I asked for and did it badly at that. My battery takes days to charge. I'd asked for the usb charge port to be replaced. They did not honour the warranty on the job and denied the port was not working. Cost me the price of a replacement phone, was posted back and fore twice over and my phone is useless. As useless as these chancers.

My experience of Electronics Partners…

My experience of Electronics Partners was amazing.

I had a very obscure 40 year old hi-Fi component (a dbx ‘split spectrum amplifier’) which had failed.

No service manual was ever written. The manufacturer was unable to help.

Two local electronics repair workshops declined my request to attend to it.

As a last resort, I consulted Google, which directed me to Electronic Partners.

Not only did they agree to accept the job, but they made the whole process so easy…..like providing a shipping label and courier service….all I had to do was box it up….they did the rest.

The failed components, which were suffering from old age, were identified, and replacements ordered and fitted in a few days.

They kept me in the loop for the whole process, and I had my fully functioning amplifier back and re-installed in my system in just over a week……for a very reasonable repair bill…..I really was expecting up to twice what I ended up being charged.

This is a highly professional organisation, one which I cannot recommend highly enough.

Returned Product faulty

Returned Product faulty, which was not under warranty in all fairness, however, returned with many screws missing, spent over £130, the same issue still happens, and it looks as if the repair was done by a 12 year old. Somehow hair is where thermal paste should be, (mixed in) and again, many screws are just... not there? For no reason. Never again.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand the frustration when a fault remains after an authorised repair attempt.

The quotation you approved was specifically for processor reflow and functional testing as a partial repair. It clearly stated that success was not guaranteed, long-term reliability could not be assured and the work carried no warranty. Three processor reflow attempts were completed, but the fault remained unchanged. The pressure-dependent boot behaviour indicates a processor package or underlying PCB interconnection fault. The payment covered the authorised reflow work and functional testing, not a guaranteed restoration of the Steam Deck OLED, in accordance with the agreed partial-repair terms.

The comments regarding screws and thermal paste do not reflect the documented repair process. The Steam Deck OLED uses separate rear-cover and motherboard-shield fasteners, so any allegation of missing fixings must be assessed against the returned unit and completion record.

Please contact us with your repair reference and clear photographs so the specific points raised can be checked against the recorded work.

Kind regards

Scam

They charged me £300 just to evaluate my Wacom monitor, and then two months later they sent me another quote for £650 to replace an additional part. That made me feel like the initial £300 was simply spent finding out what wasn't the problem rather than actually repairing the tablet.

After waiting two months, I certainly wasn't expecting them to contact me and assume I would be immediately available to respond. Just one week after sending their email, they decided to stop the repair and prepare the tablet to be returned to me unrepaired. On top of that, they wanted to charge me an additional £16 just to get my own tablet back.

It feels as though they knew from the beginning that repairing a 10-year-old monitor would never be cost-effective, yet the costs kept increasing to the point where the repair simply didn't make financial sense.

After paying £300, I expected the tablet to be repaired or, at the very least, to receive a clear assessment from the start. I've even read online that some faults on these older models can be repaired using donor parts from another tablet, so the outcome was very disappointing.

To make matters worse, they told me that even after paying the additional £650, there was still no guarantee the repair would be successful. If I'd known that from the beginning, I would have been better off selling the tablet for parts and recovering at least some of its value instead of spending £300 and ending up with an unrepaired device.

Based on my experience, I would not trust this company or recommend it to anyone. The entire process was slow, expensive, and ultimately left me with an unrepaired tablet, additional return charges, and no certainty that spending even more money would have fixed the problem.

Disgraceful experience.

Dear Osmar,

Thank you for your feedback.

To answer your question about Scam. No It is not a Scam!

This was a staged specialist repair process, undertaken at your request and with approval required before each stage proceeded. The initial diagnostic work identified a fault in the video controller integrated circuit. Your approved component-level repair was then completed, but further testing confirmed that the fault remained within the video board assembly and could not be resolved through additional component-level work.

A further quotation was therefore issued for replacement of the complete video board assembly. Quotations reflect the engineering work, parts availability and technical risk involved, and the customer decides whether proceeding represents reasonable value for the age and condition of the device. No further repair work was carried out without approval.

The charges applied related to diagnostic and repair work that had already been authorised and completed, with standard return postage applying once the further quotation was declined. Online references to donor parts do not establish compatibility, condition or a reliable outcome for the specific board received.

We are happy to discuss the recorded assessment and completed work if something is still unclear.

Kind regards

Very professional and reasonable company to deal with

I have used Electronic Components a few times over the years and my experience in getting an obsolete iR circuit board repaired recently matched the previous occasions. From receiving the courier QR code through the quotation process I was kept fully informed. More importantly they repaired the board at a reasonable price allowing me to keep the TV operational.

Ruined my Sony DAT recorder

Back in January 2026 I enquired if they could fix two portable DAT recorders, a Sony and an Aiwa, relatively specialised and long out of manufacture. They said the could and I posted them off. To cut a long story short they came back to me after several weeks to say that unfortunately they couldn't and they would return them.
By chance a month ago I ran into an old friend who used to service these for a major AV company, he offered to help. His report was that someone else had unfortunately damaged some of the components in the Sony to the extent it was irreparable. The only other people who'd ever opened it up were Electronic Partners. I know this because I'd owned the Sony from brand new and it had never been opened up before.
Maybe Electronic Partners are good at fixing washing machines, I don't know and quite honestly I wouldn't recommend them for that either. In my opinion I think whoever tried to effect the repair on my Sony Dat was dishonest.

Thank you for your feedback.

We understand your disappointment that the Sony DAT recorder could not be repaired. Following our diagnostic assessment, we advised that a reliable repair was not possible. From your review, it appears the independent specialist you later consulted reached the same conclusion regarding the unit's repairability.

We do not agree with the suggestion that our findings were dishonest or that damage was caused during our assessment. We can only report on the condition of the device as received and the results of our diagnostic process.

If you would like us to review the assessment notes with you, please contact us with your repair reference.

Not a great service

Poor. I sent my Garmin Swim 2 swimming watch to them to have the battery replaced. It took almost 3 months to fix and return, which was bad enough. I used the watch to pool swim and it stopped working. I returned the watch under warranty repair but it was logged as "customer induced damage" and the water seal cannot be guaranteed. The repair cost is more than I bought the watch for initially.

So, certainly avoid this company if you want your device to be water proof afterwards.

Reply from Electronic Partners

A measured, reputation-safe response would focus on the warranty scope and the technical reality rather than the customer's comments:

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that this situation has been frustrating.

Your Garmin Swim 2 was returned following a battery replacement and subsequently submitted under warranty after exhibiting signs consistent with liquid ingress. As outlined in our warranty terms, water or liquid damage after repair completion is excluded from warranty coverage, regardless of device type. Warranty assessments are based on the condition of the device when received for inspection.

While many devices are marketed as water-resistant, neither Electronic Partners nor manufacturers typically provide an absolute guarantee against future water ingress following disassembly and repair. Water resistance depends on multiple factors including the condition of seals, casing tolerances, previous wear, impact history, and ongoing use.

Based on our inspection, the device was classified as customer-induced damage due to evidence of liquid ingress, and the warranty claim could not be approved under the applicable warranty terms. If you would like us to review the assessment with you in more detail, please contact us with your repair reference number and we will be happy to discuss the engineer's findings.

Electronic Partners exceeded my expectations. I received a speedy quotation for the repair of two faults on my 6yr old Garmin Fenix watch.

I use it regularly so opted to pay for the priority repair and the delivery label/insurance option.

My watch was assessed accurately on receipt then repaired and returned working, within the working week.

I’m delighted to have my watch back again in fine working order, with both issues repaired satisfactory and a warranty given.

Thank you!

Buyers beware

Now I've ever charged me for a simple job that would have normally cost-free to £5 , just for a replacement, something I could have done myself if I had the equipment and know how where other places charged between 5 to £10. This particular package for this repair was a ridiculous amount. Considering I already told them that all it needed was a replacement Lens for a game boycott and they charge me extra. Saturday didn't need a charge, but because I signed a contract. It's it's illegal. It's legally binding. And I hardly recommend staying away from these con merchants, and when I have complained about it, they premiered laughed me off the phone I kept asking me, why not choose to have a why not choose other people? And I didn't know what to say, because I felt swindled and angry. Seventy seven pound so my word of advice, anyone thinking about going to electric and partners stay away.Stay very far away. You've been warned

Thank you for your feedback.

Your review focuses on the cost of the repair, so it is important to clarify what was actually quoted. The replacement lens itself was £9.12. The remainder of the quotation covered the labour required to disassemble the Nintendo Game Boy Colour, remove the original lens, fit the replacement, reassemble the console and carry out testing.

A professional repair service charges for both parts and labour. Expecting a repair to be completed for £5, or at no cost beyond the part itself, does not reflect the time, expertise and testing involved in carrying out the work.

All costs were provided before any work was authorised, giving you the opportunity to decide whether the repair represented value for money. There were no hidden charges and no costs added after the quotation was issued.

Customers are, of course, free to compare providers and choose whichever service they prefer. However, a quotation should be compared against the complete repair process being provided, not simply the cost of an individual component.

If you would like us to review the job details with you, please contact our support team with your reference number.

Initially quoted over £130 to do a…

Initially quoted over £130 to do a diagnostic to find out the issue with my Powerbank showing a 240 volt output fault , the diagnostic time being set at 2 hours . Further £90+ requested for further diagnostics with repairs still not quoted or any advice given on its feasabilty considering the retail value of the powerbank was only £650 ?. Initially told their courier could not pick up the powerbank so I paid for it to be delivered BUT when I asked for it to be returned THEIR courier could do the pick up and deliver it ???
Powerbank now has another fault in that the 12 volt output does not work so I am left with a 22kg paperweight , well done EP.
UPDATE
As the 12 volt socket does not work now they have requested a picture of the fault ???
I despair at what a picture of a 12 volt socket will show them !!
Just be aware Diagnostics are not free and could cost more than the item is worth ? Repair estimates are free only when you have paid through the nose for a diagnostic assessment , be warned !
Update 2,
After many back and forth discussions that got me nowhere as even the electronic experts could not identify the fault without further expensive diagnostics , I have decided to GIVE UP and hope my review at least warns others with similar issues to be aware ! The thing is you are drawn in by their 'Free Estimate' BS and when they have got your item you just want to get it back repaired so play along with the diagnostic cost as part of the process !!!

We’re sorry you were unhappy with the outcome, Andrew.

To clarify, we provide free repair estimates where a likely repair can reasonably be assessed from the information provided. In cases where the fault cannot be identified without disassembly and extensive investigation, we advise upfront that a paid diagnostic is required before any accurate repair quotation can be given.

This was explained before the work was authorised, and the diagnostic charge was approved prior to the device being booked in. The diagnostic process successfully narrowed the fault to the inverter control circuitry, however further component-level investigation would have been required to complete the repair.

Complex power stations such as these are significantly more advanced internally than standard battery products, and diagnostic time is based on the investigation required rather than the retail value of the item itself.

Avoid this company if you value your equipment, your money, or honest customer service.

Avoid this company if you value your equipment, your money, or honest customer service.

EP quoted me for repairs to my amplifier, including replacing defective capacitors, resoldering joints and cleaning switches “to restore proper operation”. They also conveniently add postage as a separate extra cost AFTER the quote. I paid in good faith expecting an actual repair.

What I got back was an amplifier in a WORSE condition than when I originally sent it. It would not even power on correctly when connected to the mains. Anyone with basic common sense could see immediately that the unit had either not been properly tested before return or had been further damaged during the process.

Their website proudly claims: “Real Repairs, Not Just Part Swaps.” Ironically, replacing capacitors is exactly what they did before sending the amp back broken and then hiding behind small print claiming they only offered a “partial repair”. Strange how this was never made remotely clear when taking payment.

I even obtained a CCJ in my favour against them and STILL cannot recover my money because the company appears to operate without any meaningful UK trading presence and is registered in the Seychelles. -despite a UK address where 'work' is clearly being carried out.

To be fair, I do not doubt they can handle simple fixes. But in my experience, anything more complicated seems to become: diagnose problem, take payment, fail to repair, deny promises were made, then ask whether you would like to pay MORE money for another attempt!

You can always ask their customer service chat how much of this sounds familiar - the AI they use to respond to your queries/emails is suprisingly honest.

*edit. I note they have responded to my review with some Ai waffle... just like to point out again: a ccj was awarded in my favour against them. They are not even registered in the UK.

We’re disappointed to read this account, as it does not reflect the documented repair process completed for this amplifier repair.

The unit was tested both during and after the repair work, and the post-repair analysis records confirmed correct operation prior to dispatch.

The quotation and final invoice both clearly identified this as a partial repair service. This terminology was presented within the service documentation provided before and after payment, alongside the repair scope and terms. Postage charges are also listed separately as standard logistics costs rather than being embedded into repair pricing.

As a specialist electronics repair company, we can only report on the operational condition of the amplifier during bench testing and at the point of completion. Intermittent or age-related faults within vintage hi-fi equipment can develop independently after successful repair work, particularly where multiple degraded components exist within the wider system.

We also want to clarify that customer support is handled through our ticket platform and telephone support channels by our service team directly. We do not operate an unattended or automated-only support process.

If you would like the repair documentation and test records reviewed again, please provide your reference number through the ticket system and the team will assist further.

It's a great service, I mistakenly broke my beats headphone in the gym. It has sentimental value as it was a gift from loved ones. They replaced the broken part and even went one step further by repairing the hissing sound caused by water ingress.
