Pheromones is the name given to the scent that dogs naturally produce to communicate with each other. Your dog will release pheromones from scent glands all over their body; on their paws, under their ears, and in females around their mammary area. Dogs use their vomeronasal organ, also known as the Jacobson's organ, in the roof of their mouths to detect pheromone signals. All dogs, regardless of their age, use pheromone signals and different pheromones communicate different things.
