It's a good product overall.

However, watch out for the voice pack turning into a subscription that you're expected to the pay £6 a month for and the don't cancel even when you think you have.

It's an extortion racket - or just lazy business - either way, it's not on when the item is nearly £200 to begin with.

We bought a Classic Departure board for my husband's 70th birthday. He was a train spotter for years and now has his own model railway. He wasn't sure about having one a while ago but we bought it as a surprise and he absolutely loves it!
The set up was relatively easy and even he (not being particularly tech savvy) can manage the software to change the stations etc. The voice pack is a great addition.
UKDB were very helpful and quick to respond to emails.
All in all a great product, so glad we got it. It is bringing a lot of pleasure to my husband and even myself and the rest of the family find it fascinating!

My mini departureboard, bought in the summer of 2019, was starting to show it's age: the screen was fading and hard to read. More in hope than expectation, I emailed to see if the screen could be replaced and was delighted to be told it could for a very reasonable price.

I sent it off a week ago and was kept informed throughout the process. The board was delivered back today. I plugged it in and thanks to the vibrant new screen my system is as good as new.

I really like the board — it looks fantastic and delivery was quick and on time.

The only reason I’ve removed two stars:

1. Setup is more complicated than it should be. There are instructions, but I found them difficult to follow and ended up relying on YouTube videos. This could definitely be improved. The app is also quite clunky and not the easiest to navigate. I think some input from a proper UX/web designer would really improve both the app and website.

2. The subscription, in particular, feels hard to justify. After paying nearly £300 for the board, an additional £6 per month doesn’t feel like great value for what you get.

However, overall I do love it — just be aware of these two points before buying.

This is my fourth purchase now and, once again, everything was spot on. The Pro Departure Board arrived quickly (a day earlier than expected) and was up and running in no time. Excellent service.

Great little gadget and a great talking point when I have visitors

A nifty little device for train buffs. Only suggestion would be to allow a basic sound package in the entry level purchase.

Absolutely BRILLIANT piece of kit! I got the large board for my son for Christmas, he loves trainspotting & taking videos for his youtube channel (& I love doing that with him, lol), & he LOVES it! It's up on the living room wall & I geek out over it too😄.

From ordering to arriving was very quick setting up was a little bit awkward a larger booklet in getting setup would be helpful but otherwise not to difficult on you grasp the concept. The other thing is a leaflet what each configuration in device tab were as I couldn’t see were the scrolling was and no sound coming out of the internal speaker icon and found them out and finally got it working exactly as I wanted to

This is a lovely item, but we could not get the voice pack to work. The team sorted my problem very quickly, thank you! My son loves it, and it stops him from missing the bus!

Perfect, Great Fun and good service

They have made this pensioners retirement a happy one. I bought the biggest departure board for myself as a present. It was so easy to set up and all of the settings thanks to the app. It was delivered well packed with excellent tracking as usual from DPD. Thr Departure Board is a real conversation starter. I keep changing the stations as they bring back happy memories of my holidays and stations near areas where I have lived and worked. It is the best thing I have ever bought including two small desktop ones. Worth every penny including paying for the 12 month pro subscription and the Elinor Hamilton ( National Rail ) voice pack. A lot of hard work and planning has gone into making these UK Departure Boards and it has been worthwhile. I am now one of their very happy and satisfied customers who is having fun on a daily basis with a truly brilliant item. Bought this for my Dad's 70th and he's pretty much thanked me every day since. Website was easy, delivery was quick, and judging by the fact that he's made the board do things I didn't even realise it could do, the instructions are very clear and comprehensive!

I have had my Pro Board for about 3 years now and can honestly say it's fantastic. The build quality is fantastic, features vast and software support stable and really very good.

As for customer service, Russ is an absolute jem. Nothing is too much and goes so much more the the extra mile. I haven't the words to describe both him, or his products.

I like the Railway and the Departure Board is a brilliant tool I now know about my local Railway station it is very clever how it works plus I can change it to different Railway stations in the uk

The board is fed direct from national rail info and is a live presentation of services at any one of a wide range of stations across the UK.

Brilliant gadget! Had previously got a cheaper version which didn’t work properly, but this is perfect. Got the voice pack too. Wanting the bigger version next.
