The Ukulele Project is a not for profit organisation whose aim is to use the ukulele to help address loneliness and promote wellbeing. We currently have projects in London, Scotland, Wales, the South East and the East Midlands. We have witnessed first hand how the ukulele can bring people together; how it can help break down social barriers and build strong friendships. We are passionate about supporting schools, teachers and community groups to run sustainable ukulele clubs, classes and events as a way of combating loneliness. We provide teaching resources, workshops and events; run classes for community groups and schools and in our online shop you’ll find class ukulele sets, stickers, badges, our First Ukulele Pieces books, our Practice Journal and loads more! ALL our profits go towards donating ukuleles to schools, community groups and libraries.

Great learning experience

I’ve really enjoyed learning the ukulele through my Thursday online sessions. This year I also took part in the summer and Christmas jams which was a great experience. I’ve been trying to get family members to take up this beautiful instrument.

Well done The Ukulele Project

The Ukulele Project is bringing so many of us together to share the fun and joy of playing ukulele. As we belong to individual small groups we wouldn't meet up and get to know one another without the Aberavon Christmas Festival and other occasions organised by the Project who are also doing good works in the community.

Glasgow’s top ukulele meet up

Absolutely delightful. Fun. Uplifting. All around great time. Also a great way to improve your uke skills in a relaxed setting — and meet new friendly folks. Sarah is encouraging and enthusiastic. 100% recommended!
