Can UKWindscreens Help?

This isn't really a review its more of a cry for help! Hopefully UKWindscreens will see this and set the record straight. I am an Independent windscreen fitter Trading as Crystal Clear Windscreens and signed up as a Technician with UKWindscreens a few weeks ago and have registered all my business details and have a dashboard etc. since this i have had zero info from UKWindscreens about T&C's or how this all works, i even have the UKWindscreens Approved Member banner on my website.
I have called and left voicemails, sent messages on WhatsApp & Email all without response.
Could someone from UKWindacreens get in touch Please?

Well Done

Communication perfect, punctuality perfect, technicians professional and skilled. End product perfect.
The job was not a run of the mill replacement, however the competency of the technicians won the day. A Lotus Elise is a difficult car to work on.

New windscreen scratched

Fitter was polite, was done in the rain. Next day noticed scratch when getting in car. They tried to repair but didn't get rid of scratch right in the eye line of driving seat. Company are now ignoring emails, considering legal action

No hassle really nice fitter

No hassle really nice fitter. He just got on with the job. Wouldn't know he had been in the car. It's just a shame insurance companies can't use you. Auto glass were quoting almost 3 times the price.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We would just like to clear up a few facts, so other users of TrustPilot can gain a clearer understanding of the issue at hand.

Firstly, no appointments were cancelled. We rescheduled your appointment twice, due to adverse weather. As we informed you, we are unable to carry out windscreen replacements in wet weather, as this risks the adhesive not curing properly. This is clearly stated in our terms, and all email communications at the time of booking. The final time we rescheduled was because our Bristol technician was involved in a serious road collision. We also explained this to you, which we were met with hostility and an obnoxious attitude towards our technician, who had to be admitted to hospital.

With regard to the payment being taken. We explained to you that bookings further than 5 days ahead of the time of booking have their payment taken at the 5 day mark; this is due to a time constraint on pending card payments. Due to the need to reschedule, this meant your appointment was more than 5 days from the time of booking.

We offered you a free cancellation, to which you accepted. We immediately made the refund, within seconds of receiving your confirmation. We didn’t withhold the money, nor refuse to refund it.

The emails we received from you were of a vulgar nature, full of obscenities and insults to both us and the technician.

We wish you all the best with your windscreen replacement elsewhere.

Good service at a decent price

Booked a chip repair, the repair was done really quickly even though it was in a difficult spot right on the edge of the windscreen. The engineer gave me good warning of when he would arrive. Good price too!

Completely Abysmal On-line Service

Completely Abysmal On-line Service. Using the UK windscreens website, I booked a screen replacement, with on-line availability offered for 2 days time. I accepted the suggested date and paid for the job in full (just over £500). Within a few hours I received a text informing me that the online quote was incorrect and the correct price was £848.25. I accepted and paid the additional cost. Some hours later, I received an email informing me that the job would now be delayed to 7 days time, rather than 2, as had been originally booked. The message also informed me that I would be subject to a charge if I were to cancel this newly scheduled appointment, so I reluctantly agreed, once again. I have just now received another email informing me that the next availability of the fitting technician is actually in 14 days time. That's 14 days without a functional windscreen, as opposed to the 2 days that I was offered when I booked online. I have now booked the job for this week with National Windscreens instead and, upon refusing to accept the 12-day delay from UK Windscreens, I received a email stating "As you have cancelled a booking with us, we will not accept any future bookings from yourself or anybody at the address entered during booking. Cancellations impact us financially." Ironic, given that UK Windscreens failed totally to provide the service or the appointment that I actually booked and paid for, which obviously impacts me financially! Really dreadful and completely ineffective booking system.

Thank you for your recent feedback of your experience using our website. We are sorry to hear you're not happy with how your job was dealt with.

Due to the time of year, and the unprecedented level of demand we are currently facing, we are experiencing significant delays. Because of this, we have placed several warnings on our website to inform customers that there is no guarantee of a pre-christmas appointment. Further to this, we also have notices informing customers who are considering booking with us that the date selected is only provisional and not a guaranteed date. This is due to several reasons, such as technician availability and the availability of the glass. At no point did we guarantee that the date you selected was confirmed. In fact every section of our website, and subsequent emails, all clearly explain that the date selected is provisional and will be confirmed by the technician. We are sorry if you failed to acknowledge these notices, but we can not be held liable for a failure of understanding on your part.

When you selected the glass option on our website, you selected the wrong one for your vehicle. Because of this incorrect selection, there was a significant cost increase for the glass required for your vehicle. This is why we sent a shortfall request for the difference. It is imperative that you select the correct option for your vehicle, failure to select the correct glass based on the feature questions asked can result in an additional premium becoming due. We can't be held liable for customers incorrectly selecting glass options to keep costs down.

With regards to the cancellation fee, we do not charge cancellation fees for date change requests or shortfall requests. This is clearly detailed on our website and also in our Terms & conditions, which you agreed to at the time of booking.

Cancellations do indeed cost us financially. Unfortunately, staff wages have to be paid, as do the costs of performing glass lookups to verify the correct glass requirement for the vehicle. We perform this lookup as many customers select the cheapest option on our website, even though this is incompatible with their vehicle, such as in this case, where the wrong glass was selected.

In addition to the above, your vehicle required a 2-man team to carry out the replacement due to the size of the glass. At this time of year, a 2-man team is difficult to schedule due to it being so close to Christmas and the fact we already have appointments scheduled occupying our technicians.

We are sorry that you didn't have a good experience with our services. However, given the immense pressure we are under, we acted well within our terms & conditions and standard practice procedure.

We hope things go well with your booking with National Windscreens and we'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas.

** UPDATE **

After further investigation, we have found that the review you left is factually incorrect.

You mention that we said the job would be delayed to 7 days. However, the email clearly stated "Our technician will be in contact to discuss this, however it may mean an appointment w/c 29/12 due to time constraints at this time of year.". That does not mean we have postponed the appointment, it clearly states it MAY require an appointment w/c 29/12.

Further, you mention that you would be charged a cancellation fee. However, the email clearly states " If the new date is earlier than your current appointment and you decline it, your original appointment date will be kept. For other date changes, declining may require cancellation which could incur a fee as per our terms and conditions.". At no point does that say a fee will definitely be charged. It clearly states it "could incur a fee".

When you cancelled the job with us, no cancellation fee was charged - as we do not charge cancellation fee's for date change requests.

Reviews such as this can cause serious harm to a business!

I would give Zero stars

I would give Zero stars. They sent 2 technicians to fix a window. I ended up having to go to Mercedes and paying £500 to fix the damage they caused. I was left without a working vehicle for an extended period of time.

Due to the first technician not having a clue what he’s doing, I’m now over £800 out of pocket. They agreed to reimburse me but now they are ignoring all my emails and WhatsApp messages. Absolutely disgusting service. I would rather pay extra and use auto glass, a reputable company

Spot on

Booked it for the next day easily, price and specs of the windscreen were clearly laid out. (Ford heated screen)I got a discount too. Website straightforward and quick to use.
The guy messaged before he came, which came in handy as I got it done while I was at work. Polite and got it done quickly, no issues. I RECOMMEND!
