Terrible site and terrible customer service

I ended up having a career ending back injury about 90 days before my race. They were "unable" to process and refunds after 90 days of signing up. SCAM and BS, would you do business with someone that said no refunds for a service you would not get until the day of? I would not either, take your business else where or call the race directors to sign up. Garbage site and terrible terms and customer service, very confusing to even find who to talk to.

Collects too much personal info.

This website collects WAY too much personal data. Use of their services requires full name and address, email, birthday and phone number. For registration payment they don't offer third party like paypal or Google Pay. You must enter your credit card info and cvc, which they probably save for future use. It really annoys me how careless companies are about identity theft. No wonder there are so many data breaches these days.

"Grading" race results not appreciated

Not everyone does every race to be competitive. Some are for training or perhaps pacing a friend. Post times for sure but the percentage/ranking aspect is unnecessary and annoying. At very least there should be an opt out feature. I emailed Mark Gilliam CEO years ago about this and recieved an extremely rude response from him about my "crappy race times". Poor customer service because it has no competition from other platforms. I preferred the old days where I wrote a check and mailed it in without paying a service fee to have every race "graded" by a bunch of rude A-h#les

Poor user experience

Ultrasignup does not allow a user to protect their personal information like location and age. This should be part of the users account settings.

In addition, there's a lot of race results which are scraped from other websites which did not use ultrasignup as their registration platform. Sometimes this information is incorrect or missing details. And unfortunately the athlete is instructed to go to the race director to get it corrected. This is a bad user experience. And while it's important to keep the integrity of a race result, the fact that people are instructed to do all the foot work of a failed scraping is pretty poor.
