Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 294 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as terrible, unhelpful, and difficult to reach, often leading to unresolved issues and ignored communications. Reviewers frequently encountered problems with their orders, including missing items, incorrect products, and delayed or undelivered shipments, with some even being charged for items they never received. The delivery service was a major point of contention, with many reporting issues such as parcels being sent to incorrect locations, lack of timely delivery notifications, and packages being returned without successful delivery attempts. The return policy also caused frustration, as customers faced difficulties with the return process, including items being lost in the warehouse, refusal of refunds, and complex procedures. Conversely, some people were satisfied with the quality of the products, finding them to be good, well-fitting, and made from nice materials, with a few even having positive purchasing experiences.

Disappointing Experience and Broken Promise

I recently had a frustrating experience with UNIQLO that has left me questioning whether I want to shop there again.

A while ago, I purchased a pair of trousers and requested an alteration as they were too long. I paid and was given a receipt to collect them the next day. When I returned, I was told that my order had been lost. The staff had to process the order again, and as a gesture of goodwill, I was promised 10% off my next purchase. The gentleman assisting me even wrote this on my receipt.

I came back the following day to collect the trousers, and thankfully they were ready. However, the situation took another disappointing turn during a more recent visit. I made another purchase and presented the receipt with the handwritten 10% discount promise. The cashier told me they were not allowed to apply it and called the manager over. Despite me clearly explaining the situation and even describing the staff members involved at the time, the manager refused to honour the discount, saying it was not something they could do.

This was extremely disappointing. Not only was my original order lost, but the promise made to resolve the issue was not kept. This has seriously affected my trust in UNIQLO. Customer service should be about reliability and keeping your word, and unfortunately, this experience showed neither. It makes me question their commitment to customer satisfaction and whether I should continue shopping there in the future.

One star because you can’t leave zero

One star because you can’t leave zero

Delivery just didn’t give me chance to get to the door, then I got an email saying I would get a refund minus a delivery penalty.
Absolutely disgusted and will never use them again. Wish I’d checked on their reputation

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID - service is terrible

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID…Bought £250 of products. When I got them home, one of the tops (which was folded when I picked it up and bought it like most of the products stacked high in the shops) was badly marked. I took it to another store near home to return given I purchased in that condition. They refused to refund the product - accusing me of marking the product. I was astounded. The manager and staff were utterly useless in assisting. I won’t be buying anything from Uniqlo again - and would advise others not to either. Service is appalling.

Great products, awful customer service

Uniqlo do great basics and I buy loads from them BUT the experience is extremely frustrating. I've paid for next day delivery and the items didnt come next day (despite my having ordered before the cut-off) and customer service refused to refund the next day delivery fee. They also refuse to accept returns for items ordered online in their stores - its 2026! And finally, today I got an email saying that I have returned too many items - despite not having ordered anything since December - and if I continue to return things, they may suspend or cancel my account. Unbelievable. It's like they actively don't want customers.

Gift card rip off - credit card cash transaction fee

I bought a Uniqlo gift card, Uniqlo have subbed this out to Buyatab...
By using Buyatab you end up with an extra 5% "tax" on the transaction as it appears on your credit card as a gift card and you get a cash fee and interest from the credit card provider.
Stick to buying gift cards in the supermarket with your groceries or just transfer the cash, but don't fall for this one.

Refund refused despite Royal Mail return confirmation

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience returning an item to Uniqlo.

I returned an item within the stated returns period using Uniqlo’s own Royal Mail return service. I have email confirmation from Uniqlo that the parcel was collected and delivered, and both Uniqlo’s tracking and Royal Mail tracking clearly show the parcel as delivered to their warehouse.

After several weeks, I have not received a refund. When I got in touch with Uniqlo customer service team, they are refusing to issue a refund because I no longer have the small paper receipt provided at the parcel shop. This makes absolutely no sense! The paper receipt would not provide any additional information beyond what is already available through their own tracking system and Royal Mail’s tracking, both of which confirm successful delivery.

Instead of resolving the issue, their customer service team has refused to investigate the issue and simply repeated that they “require a paper receipt,” ignoring the clear evidence that the item was returned and delivered. They have not provided any meaningful explanation, nor have they offered to locate the parcel internally. I have effectively been told that despite confirmed delivery, they will not refund me.

This is an inflexible and unreasonable policy, particularly when customers are using Uniqlo’s own designated return method. Expecting customers to retain a tiny paper slip as the sole deciding factor, despite comprehensive digital tracking, is outdated and unfair.

I would strongly advise others to think carefully before making online purchases, especially higher-value items. If something goes wrong, don’t expect common sense or customer-focused resolution.

Very disappointing experience from a major retailer!

Do not use their online shop as they will steal money and items from you

I bought a jacket from Uniqlo which unfortunately did not fit correctly. I sent it back within the returns period via Uniqlo's own Royal Mail return service. It was received at their warehouse and then they sat on it for 2 weeks until I followed up. They then informed me a refund would not be possible as the "item was not received" despite there being evidence from both themselves and Royal Mail that the item reached their warehouse.

I have tried since to get further information from Uniqlo but they are vague and will not offer up any more information to me. They should either offer me the refund OR send me the item back but they've just referred me to Citizen's Advice to begin a dispute with them.

Disgusting customer service from their online team and I'm overall incredibly disappointed with how they acted.

Awful

Awful. Firstly I the wrong item was sent in my order at christmas time and it took loads of emails and chasing for them to send out the correct item despite it being a christmas present and christmas was looming. I used klarna as my payment type and despite returning within the correct time and both Royal Mail and Uniqlo acknowledging my return, they are refusing to issue a refund to Klarna! My refund was over 3 months ago and despite sending more than sufficient evidence, they are still being difficult and refusing to issue the refund. They have offered no assistance. I recommend to not buy off Uniqlo online, not worth the hassle and much better to just go in the store, or just not buy there at all.

Poor customer service, bad returns policy

I returned an expensive jacket online using Uniqlo's own service with royal mail. Following receipt of three separate emails from uniqlo which advised me my parcel had been collected and was in transit I discarded the small paper receipt I got from the post office.

However, several weeks later - no refund. Checking the tracking info with royal mail I could see the parcel had been delivered to Uniqlo. I questioned this with them and was told the parcel could not be found, but that I would get no refund as I no longer had the paper receipt- despite the fact I had 3 separate emails from uniqlo to prove I'd posted it, and tracking from royal mail to show it had been delivered.

No matter how I challenged this I got the same response back - "our t&c's state you must have a paper receipt to get a refund", a completely non-sensical policy in the face of ample other evidence to prove postage.

This went back and forth over several emails to much stress, until they randomly decided to refund me when I asked for this to be escalated to managent

What is going on with a major retailer having such a shoddy inflexible approach and contempt towards their own customers?

I would never use them again, and would urge others to be very wary, particularly for high value purchases

Uniqlo has turned into Sports Direct

It's really disappointing to see Uniqlo nosedive like it has.
Firstly, you cannot return items to their stores, and if you're not in to receive the (non specified delivery timed) items, they will immediately ship it to a local delivery hub for collection. Only this takes over 24 hours.
Frankly, having gone from being one of the best e-commerce experiences to the worst in record time is quite sad. Buy in-store if you can. Online best avoided.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I cannot believe a company this size won't allow online orders to be returned to a retail store and actually charges their customers a return fee. It's pathetic.

Clothes are great but their delivery…

Clothes are great but their delivery system lets them down. If youre not in to receive your parcel it gets sent to a local co op where you are given 1 day to collect it, it is then returned to Uniqlo and you are charged delivery costs plus you don't get your order.
They use DHL who are normally good and leave my parcels in agreed safe place but not when it's from Uniqlo. you therefore have to make sure you are in for whenever it arrives and you don't get anemail about delivery date until that morning.
Strongly advise buying in store if you can

Disrespectful and Incompetent Customer Service – Completely Unacceptable

I placed multiple orders from UNIQLO Deutschland. For items from two different orders, I contacted customer service to ask about the return process. The first response I received had nothing to do with my question — it was a completely irrelevant, copy-paste reply.

When I reported this as a complaint, I was offered a solution by UNIQLO themselves: if I sent the items back, they would waive the return shipping fee for one of them as a gesture of apology. I was then asked to provide my order numbers and product details, which I did clearly and completely.

After that, I received an extremely rude and disrespectful response: “We cannot do this because it would be unfair to other customers.” This is outrageous — this exact offer was made to me by UNIQLO in the first place. Your teams clearly have no communication with each other.

Despite providing written proof, I was forced to repeat myself over and over again and kept receiving the same careless, copy-paste responses. I openly condemn this level of disrespect and incompetence.

At this point, I will NOT return the products. I will give them away. I will also not use them myself — I do not want to use products from a company that treats its customers this way.

UNIQLO has shockingly rude, dismissive, and incompetent customer service. Absolutely not recommended.

DISGUSTING FRAUDULENT COMPANY

DISGUSTING FRAUDULENT COMPANY - AVOID.

Returned order to them, and they have refunded me for 2 items less than I returned and are refusing to acknowledge this, so I'm out of Pocket

They have advised me contact Citizens advice rather than resolve the issue themselves, truly a disgusting company.

I was a lifetime customer

I was a lifetime customer, but recently Uniqlo contacted me about banning me as a customer for making too many returns.

Its a bit insulting that you arent allowed to try a (at our discretion) random amount of clothing, when you basically buy virtually all your yearly clothing from that retailer.

Customer Experience Feedback – Glasgow Branch

I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent experience at your Glasgow branch, as it has significantly impacted my perception of your brand.

I have been a loyal customer of your Manchester and Glasgow stores for the past couple of years and have always appreciated the quality, design, and fit of your clothing. Over that time, I estimate I have spent well in excess of £1,000 with your business.

During a recent visit to your Glasgow branch, I attempted to exchange two pairs of jeans I had purchased, having realised I had selected the wrong size. While one pair was accepted, the second was refused due to the tags having been removed.

I understand that company policies exist for a reason. However, I felt that in this situation there was an opportunity to apply some discretion and common sense. The items were clearly new, unworn, and part of a wider purchase that I was able to evidence. Given my history as a returning customer, I had hoped for a more flexible and customer-focused approach.

What was particularly disappointing was the interaction with the on-duty manager, Amy. I found her manner to be overly rigid and lacking in interpersonal engagement. Rather than acknowledging my perspective, she repeatedly reiterated the policy without any attempt to explore a reasonable resolution or demonstrate understanding.

As a result, I left feeling undervalued as a customer. While I have previously enjoyed shopping with your brand, this experience has unfortunately led me to reconsider returning in the future.

I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I believe a more balanced and empathetic approach to customer service would greatly enhance the overall experience.

Lovely and quality clothes

Sad and so surprised to see so many bad reviews. This is one of my favourite clothes retailers. I have to admit that customer service is not impeccable but the layout of the clothes is neat and it is always easy to find what I am looking for. I love their shops and only wished the shop on Oxford Street was a bit bigger. It is always very busy there.
