University Living 

Where do I begin? This 7-month back-and-forth journey from September 2025 to March 2026 can be described as Blackburn losing to Liverpool at Anfield 2-1 back in 1995, yet still winning the English Premier League.

Starting my final year, I decided to live at The Maltings in Colchester, as I had a very positive experience there over the past 2 years (2023-2025). However, when I applied, my previous room had already been booked with the property (The Maltings) couldn't really do anything to help me get my room back.

No problem, I came to University Living with Maeve to support me, and they immediately arranged my room at The Maltings, including another room, cashback, and a tenancy period that matched my preference (I wanted the shortest contract possible, which University Living immediately matched).

However, I do have to admit the cashback never came through, mainly due to a system error that is more related to the property's marketing team. We do not want to go into detail on those bits and bobs.

Why am I creating this review? I have used different agencies across different years of my life at The Maltings, with AmberStudent for 2023-24; UniAcco for 2024-25 and now University Living for 2025-26.

With full confidence, University Living showed the most fight and compassion for its customers, especially Pratishtha and Varshika, emailing multiple agencies, including the property itself and the marketing agencies, and involving the landlord, to push for the cashback I am entitled to.

Do you see that level of effort from other agencies like Amberstudent or UniAcco? Rarely. This agency prioritises customer satisfaction. If you book with University Living, you are entitled to PREMIUM customer service throughout your tenancy, not just the booking period.

Not only that, the manager of the entire University Living, Aman, even got involved to try to push for my satisfaction. I am just a nobody, and to University Living, I am somebody at least because these three - Aman, Varshika and Pratishtha - didn't want to see one of their clients to be pushed down at all.

At the very end, despite not reaching a conclusion (mainly due to the marketing team being absent from responding - the team responsible for the cashback), I didn't want to carry on chasing the cashback I am entitled to - as it risked jeoperdising my relationship with The Maltings (to which I had an amazing 3 year residency so far, minimal complaints so far).

After I told them to stop the pursuit, University Living offered me at least a relief package. Not once did I expect this. Pratistha and Varshika were immensely patient with me, acknowledging the financial struggles I was enduring and seeing me become emotional, yet they never once gave up trying to help me.

How can I repay these three back? I need to let the world know University Living is the way to go.

To summarise, University Living, especially Pratishtha, Varshika and Aman, all pushed 110% for me, acknowledging I am a client of University Living, not just a customer they can use then ditch afterwards (a bit like other typical accommodation agencies).

Despite not reaching the conclusion we wanted, they still wanted to show their support with their kind gesture of a cashback from University Living themselves (notice it's not the marketing team - the team that pushed out for the cashback in the first place).

I didn't want to make this into a Judge Judy episode, expressing my feelings and hardships; I wanted everyone to know this is my story, and my story at the University is ending on a positive note. Huge shout-out to University Living for giving me an amazing ending at The Maltings in Colchester.

You must book an accommodation with University Living.

I had an excellent experience working with Mahim Mehta from University Living. He helped me find pricing and availability for numerous apartments, providing not only suggestions but also advice on what to look for in an apartment. When I chose to book an apartment at University Center, Mahim assisted me with the lease as well.

I highly recommend anyone work with University Living when searching for an apartment. University Living team, thank you for your help.

The customer service team is amazing. Pragyan who is apart of the University Living team worked around the clock to ensure the whole process was fast and done properly. I appreciate all the help I got .

I was served by Vansh Sharma from University Living. He assisted me to get a suitable accommodation near my university that was within my budget. I appreciate his assistance coz he connected me with the property managers and kept checking on me every step of the way until I signed the rental lease and paid my deposit.

Very helpful and useful for accommodation with my required internship dates

This organization is a scam. Do not pay for their services. They will send you two places - expect you to pick one instead of working within your budget and needs and so you have to do all of the research and find your own place. They also will ghost you for months. Then once you ask for a refund because they did not provide a service they will take you in circles so that you never get the money back. I initially reached out to them back in June 2025, they took my money but did not help me, and I have been waiting since August after I had to find my own place while trying to move to the city. I still have not recieved my money back and I’m doubting I will. Absolute scam for students.

I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this letting agency.

The first red flag for me was that the company claims to be UK-based, yet I was consistently contacted through international numbers. This immediately raised concerns about transparency and communication.

Secondly, the lack of professionalism was disappointing. For privacy reasons, I will refer to the agent as “PS” so others who may have had similar experiences can recognise the situation. At one point, PS became extremely unprofessional and even made comments that I perceived as threatening, which is completely unacceptable in a professional setting.

I was looking for short-term summer accommodation and repeatedly made my budget clear. Despite this, my preferences were ignored. Instead of respecting what I had clearly stated multiple times, the agent continued to push properties outside my budget. Even when I raised concerns directly, they were brushed aside rather than properly acknowledged.

Although a “discount” was later offered, the pressure and persistent messaging to accept it felt more like sales tactics than genuine assistance. It seemed as though the focus was on commission and KPIs rather than actually listening to and meeting a client’s needs.

Overall, I found the experience stressful and frustrating. Clear communication, professionalism, and respect for a client’s budget should be the bare minimum when dealing with accommodation matters.

University Living team helped me secure my current accommodation in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. They have been helpful and quite responsive throughout the process. I appreciate as they consistently follow up regarding lease renewal, making sure I don’t miss any important deadlines. I would definitely recommend reaching out to the University Living team if you need assistance with accommodation booking or related support.
