Welcome to Slagelse
On June 10th we arrived in Slagelse at 15:30, we knew little about the area having just arrived from Cobenhavn airport. All was quiet, no-one around but then it was a public holiday, maybe they have siestas in Denmark, like France.
Our accommodation was on a pedestrian street so we found a piece of wasteland on which to park. It being a public holiday, the ticket machine appeared to be off and the other 2 cars had no ticket on view.
We went to find out where we should park and returned about 5 minutes later to find that we had received a ticket/fine of 795DK, even though it was clearly an AVIS car. There was still no-one around.
Denmark has a reputation of being a welcoming and friendly country. Clearly not aspired to by UNIVERSPARKERING. Their attitude to our correspondence has been to ignore the issues and maintain that the matter is CLOSED. Other people with similar experiences can be found online
This company is taking advantage of the Danish people and visitors to Denmark. BEWARE!

Unwilling to talk, just one big fraud of a company

I parked using the Parkman App showcased on the parking ticket machine and used its built-in GPS function to find my parking spot. When I got back to my car, I found I had received a fine, and that the app had not - in some mysterious way - properly registered my position, even though before parking I could clearly see where I was located on the map.

I tried to get in contact with UniversParkering, as I would like to be able to pay my ticket even though their malfunctioning app does not allow me to do that.
I was just directed to their website where I could file a complaint.

Normally, I'm a nice guy who can appreciate that sometimes people and things make mistakes. I always follow the rules, and this time was no exception. I tried to just pay my ticket like any other day.

After a week, I received an answer. My complaint was nonchalantly disregarded; none of my questions answered. I was just told to pay the fine and threatened with repercussions should I refuse.

I tried to call the company to establish a conversation, but the unhelpful staff on the other end shut down any kind of conversation and just told me to use the form on the website, knowing full well as I that the forms filed are not taken seriously.

My next step may be to file a charge with the police, as it seems like UniversParking is totally unwilling to cooperate in any way. If it's illegal for regular people to steal money from one another, I figure it's illegal for companies to do the same.

Hello

Thanks for paying back the parking ticket we got in front of ArOs.
Your virksomhed i stedet has been awfully rude and oforskammet.

You interrupt the telefon call, it is not possible to come and deal with you in Vestergade 3B, we tried them both. You had given us a parking ticket and according to the representant of MTM-MAD you did not even HAVE THE RIGHT TO GIVE THAT TICKET IN THE FIRST PLACE. This whole incident ruined pretty much our holiday in Danmark and gave us a totally different picture of the country, not as a nice country of "roliganer" but a very rude administration that one cannot even reach! I sent an email to the address in the parking ticket and got an answer that you don't even read the emails. What kind of a company are you?! This experience does not stemme overens with the picture of a Nordic country that I am used to as a Finnish citizen!
Even if I have studied some dansk in the university I found it extrlemely vanskelig at fungere med jeres.

Our car was parked between 11:20 and 12:30 in Odense and yet we were fine for parking at 12:45! Our p-skive was in order and our car was even parked where we are supposed to have two hours “free” parking. What kind of service is that Universparking?

Apparently the 'complaints' option that they allow people is just another way of saying 'we're right and if you disagree, we'll send you to court'.

I guess reading an electronic parking disc is too complicated for the parking attendants.

Not worth even the one star

As if the hard written rules, unreasonable pricing and aggressive business ethics weren't bad enough - the coward position that Universpakering is taking is the most upsetting. It s been said before, but objecting to a case is only possible in some hidden online way. Besides the general position that they are 100% in the right and completely free of mistakes Universpakering is fast in charging you extra fees threatening with inkasso right from the start and turning 10 minutes of overstaying your time in a parking lot into serious crime. Most victims, including myself, just give up half the way through because it seems hopeless as you don't get to talk to a real person but only can send mails into nowhere.
